Are you giving the hot cups any time to cool? Is there a worry about thermal shock or microfractures?

One of mine has the same issue but as stated above, it gets better over time. I believe the battery and its wrap thickness can affect this as well. Apply pressure against the lid and toggle the latch release with your thumbnail. Best of luck, it's a killer unit!

Mine as well, both my Ti and SS hoppers are alive and well. I don't use them much due to reports on FC. That form factor is hard to beat. Not sure if they're still available, but I've bought batteries twice from them this year using a link in this thread with no issues.
