    Strawpack with ground meds 1-2 aggressive heat ups. Whole nugs crammed in 3 - 5 slower heat ups. The Wand is great as you an use it like a torch and adjust your heating on the fly. :spliff:

    I had the triple flame version of the one you ordered, it worked well, but the body of the lighter got so hot I couldn't heat two bowls in a row with out letting the lighter cool down first. Lots lighter of info linked below...

    Is the lighter colored scratch/chip what you are referring to as the dried out grains? In theory the dry grains should soak up any oil you try to condition them with, perhaps the natural oil in that part of the wood are working against that process? I couldn't understand if you were saying...

    Yes the alcohol lamps are cheap to run, they also are quiet compared to a butane torch. They make for a more peaceful ritual.

    Good question, i can't comment on the suitability of red spirit as we don't have that where I'm from, I must admit I'm not sure what they are(I even looked it up but am still unsure) I use methylated spirits, as it burns clean and is cheap, but isopropyl alcohol or high proof alcohol will...
