FROLIC by Limelight Herb

I’ve had mine for 2 hrs. Ordered last fri. ups all the way. Yes I can hear a slight rattle if shaken so I’m not gonna shake it. And no the bowl does not spin. Feels solid and top tier. I’m using rimless bowl screens for now . 1 full burnoff session, 4 full sessions at 375 to 395, 2 short on demand runs and the battery is 1 bar. I did the on demand runs at 400 and 380 and liked each the same. Play with the airflow and it’s pretty easy to find big clouds . I judge extraction by more than color. I do look to be sure no green left. The I take a pinch a rub between 2 fingers. It should turn to sand if I did it right. The finer the sand the better the extraction. Frolic makes some very fine sand indeed!

While I'm disappointed that I don't have my Frolic yet, I think of it as teething problems for Limelight. Next time they can try a different shipping service and/or give a longer ETA so people's expectations match reality.

The payment process is manual, sure, but I don't think there's anything to regret about it. I even offered to pay via bank transfer instead of PayPal to help them save on fees (they didn't suggest it themselves), because it was clear from all the feedback here that they're hardworking people, not scammers. 🙂

So finally i went ahead and ordered the Frolic. The paypal link in the confirmation e-mail brought me to the paypal site instead of the app and it was better . Was able to choose to pay in USD so all was good. Ordered Tuesday, shipped Wednesday and will be here friday. Crazy fast shipping from GB to Canada.
Can't wait to try it out and see how it compares to my TM2 and TB2.

On top of all the other functions, it turns out the Frolic is also a fidget spinner!
🤣

Sorry I missed to reply to you earlier. I wanted to thank you for keeping it real. You, along with others, went from f*ck this nobody to kudos once I proved myself by basically singlehandedly creating something like the Frolic.

Thank you Dejan and your team for making, what I now consider to be, the best portable on the market. I have more than a human should and while I can not speak on the longevity , the performance is unmatched. I know I am probably crazy but the TM2 always makes me feel like I will break the button and I don't love stems on my portables. The TB2 is insane and I love it, but portable??? Maybe from my bedroom to the livingroom. The Venty is great but it doesn't hit as hard and I like the portability of the Frolic more. Solo 3 is a monster but again stems and it's just not as easy to take with you in a hurry. I will say on my walk yesterday I pulled my frolic out and if there are any 2A people out there you may understand but does this thing not give you a vibe of a different kind of portable lol. Just saying the coloring and material. Dejan you packing more than weed?

I imagine you put the tm2 capsule in then forced the screen in the CU up out of it's grooves until it fit?

FWIW, The LOBO dosing caps are a perfect fit in diameter to the CU opening. By repositioning the screens upwards to provide headspace, LOBO caps can be used with no further modifications.

I don't use my LOBO caps because I only have one and am generally not a fan of them vs the XMAX caps. I'd feel differently if I had a set of them and no lathe, though! :p

I tried a little over half the amount in the bowl on demand at 365 (no stepping up) and cleared it in about 2 and a half draws where I release the button to cut off the oven after about 5 seconds and continue inhaling til about 10 seconds. I have done this pretty consistently and it has wonderful results where I've been trying between 365 and 380.

When I pulled the CU a lightly toasted cloud of material blew away immediately in the light wind before I could even look so I was pretty impressed how well it extracted.

I have also been very impressed with the discreetness when not in use. The mouthpiece emits a faint scent if the cu is dirty but it's nothing noticeable beyond pretty much right over it.

To further reduce the smell, I had the idea a while back for another device to use the stickers like they put on Starbucks drinks to keep from spilling that have food safe adhesive. I found the company they buy from and ordered my own set of 392 (multiple uses per sticker) for $10.75 shipped and stick that on mouthpiece ends that fit it to totally seal off the smell.

They do custom designs and whatnot from what I saw too. Mine are the Tee-shaped and Cruzin Cap is the name of the company if anyone else is interested. These wouldn't work well in a pocket though to carry around.

I've been doing that with the TM2 when using it without water. Seems to work great with powerful on demand convection devices like these. There is enough heat stored in the heater to end the draw without it getting too hot/rough at the end.

Nice. I have not tried as low as 365F in on-demand mode but I've been around 380F. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

Yup. I was mentioning in an earlier post that I'm getting better at knowing when to kill the heater. Cutting off the heat and clearing the hit at the right time is an art for every on-demand device I feel.

Just a friendly heads up: it's finally reached the point where we have a shipping thread for Frolic:

Not every vape needs a shipping thread, so I tend to reject the suggestion. Anyway, enjoy!

Thank you @Grass Yes for doing a dedicated post :)

Everyone is speaking about the on-demand performance, but how is session mode ? Is the frolic gonna be my mighty killer, aka long sesh king ? Witt the mighty and some freshly cured material I can take 40/50 mins sesh (starting at 177, ending at 210) and still have some visible vapor. Abv is a perfect and uniform dark brown, without hot spots. Venty never did this (20mns max with same material, 2/3 good hits around 185/190 and that's pretty it, abv is such lighter brown in comparison, maybe there's something wrong with it). The solo 3 also does long sesh, but I struggle so much with the restricted airpath.

Can the Frolic be the new session king ?

If anyone hasnt checked out the regular limelight website, and they like nice looking etc and wood and luxurious etc, they're missing out just on some visuals and some amazing what may come with the frolic, dejan has definitely said he wants to do stuff, but first is the main accessories etc.
I just checked it out, i thought all the stuff looked really... nice,in 1 word, idk im not really into the fancy ascetics part(yet), but im pretty sure tm firewood p80 enthusiast's would be very pleased, and maybe even nomad /toad enthusiasts too(at leasr art/ascetics wise)
Im not sure but i think i feel very excited for everyone and dejan for that aspect, i think people may be crazy happy with this vape in the future both in function and in materials/astetics
(Now too, but..)

In case anyone else was looking for a website beyond LimelightHerb.com - it's https://limelightmechanics.com/

I think I'm set too! With some Dejan guiding, went from 97 to 98 TCR and I get that little bit more darkness I wanted at max temp so I don’t need to push it too much and overheat it. Made it suite perfectly my vaping style. A bit more than 0.1 packed in the glass reducer or like 0. 15 in a basket screen. AF about 1/3 open, 1 hit at 240 to get vapor faster. 2 main tasty hits at 215-220 ( golden brown) and kill it with 1 or 2 hits at 240. Dark even brown.
I didn't like this shape of mouthpieces like the rotating one but it's really excellent for a nice chilled draw.
For the discussion about abv colouring and beeing spent I do think that there are some actives that vape at closer to combustion temps and effects ( more body) that you don’t get when you have a lighter brown even if it's spent texture wise. I do prefer my lower temp hits taste wise off course. Then its a matter of taste and what effects each one is seeking etc.

That's good to know for the dark brown avb !
But what is this TCR you've talked about ? And how do you adjust that ? Of course if it's too long to explain I'm sure @Dejan LimelightHerb will provide the perfect explanation:D
