Thanks for publishing my review @asimrell.
I've been playing with The Simrell more.
Yesterday I kept it in rotation all day, using it every third or fourth bowl. This morning, I've only been using The Simrell.
Overall, I'm still unimpressed, but I can see it strengths more clearly now.
It's not for me. Next week, I'll send it out to some friends to try, hopefully one of them loves it as much as many here do.
I'll update my review and share some more detailed thoughts here when I get a chance later.

The AVB is fine. Consistent, thorough, all that. I’ve been playing with low temp and higher temp hits and the AVB looks good in all of them.
it snot that the vape isn’t working properly, I just don’t like it much.
For me, it’s underwhelming. But I can appreciate why others like it.
What vapor profile are you looking for? I think that's what people are trying to get at here. It can pretty much do any vapor signature you want, with some changes and heating techniques.

Out of curiosity, what part of it is underwhelming? Flavor? Vapor Density?
Do you prefer a heavier hitter like an Anvil/TM2? Or something lighter like a full convection device?

Out of curiosity, what is it that you’re looking for out of a device? I’m always looking for ways that I can improve the system, so your feedback is appreciated.
Also, what are the devices you reach for in your collection that do scratch that itch for you?
It will stand on a reload, but it’s not optimal. I wanted to move away from magnets and focus on decreasing the time in which it takes the device to cool down, while also creating a more stable system.
With the cooling stand, the device cools down in about 10-15 seconds or so, making it really quick to be able to handle the parts without the need for leather or a magnetic interface to disassemble.
If i send an email would it be possible to add it onto my order of the extraction engine that i placed yesterday, or should i place a separate order?

When I received my "The Simrell", I was really disappointed and underwhelmed. I left a critical one star review stating that I'd wasted my money. At the time, I genuinely believed that, but thankfully, I was wrong. The Simrell is a wonderful vaporiser that I suspect will remain on my desk long term. The issues that I originally had with "The Simrell" are mostly unique to me and are hard to explain here. However, one thing worth mentioning, I have dodgy hands (think RSI/Carpel tunnel kinda thing) and find the the precision threads on "The Simrell" to be more frustrating than other threaded devices, but with patience and attention, it's becoming less of an issue. Thank you Austyn for your hard work on this. I'll be ordering a second "The Simrell" shortly, so that I don't have to go without when I lend this one to my friends.

Mine has been at customs for almost 2 weeks with the same status now. I have just phoned the postal service, but the only thing that is possible is that the sender makes a loss-inquiry. What would take approx. 3-4 weeks again :/Simrell is there, it only took a little over five weeks of a quite wild journeyIt’s been to six places in three of the United States, which alone took 10 days. German customs then decided to kept it for another four weeks straight and put a red sticker on it which says: Don’t fucking deliver! So I went there today with ridiculous complex paperwork and after one hour of waiting I was allowed to explain the principles of a manual dry herb vaporizer to a bunch of customs officers - which do confiscate drugs btw. I then quickly paid the taxes and went the fuck out there. Hope they didn’t get my license plate
Loving the device! It feels so good in hand, well balanced and meticulously crafted. I’ve been watching Austyn hitting it in the live stream multiple times, so I knew how to torch it properly. I easily achieved the “golden zone” in hybrid mode, which is great for CBD. For THC I like it darker, so I quickly worked my way up to a chocolate dark roast by carefully decreasing the flame distance. This was pretty straightforward.
The cooling is incredible. Even when running very hot, there’s only the loss in flavor that tells me that I’m doing so, no harshness whatsoever. The airflow is spot on perfect, nowhere near restricted or airy. I’d describe it as bouncy, if that makes any senseThe rest is as seen in the videos, fluffy clouds, rich flavor and nice effects. Convection mode is easy, Hybrid as welll. I’m excited to dial in full conduction to take full advantage of the Simrell’s versatility. First day’s impressions of this beautiful device are more than promising
This daily status check has become a bit frustrating.
Maybe its the order value, but i didn‘t have that long customs process for other vapes i ordered From the us lately.
Mine is still in the us and it has been sent on 20.5.
It is looking like it will be the slowest shipping ever.
I just hope it will not get stuck in customs like yours.

@ChasinTerps @MDude It’s possible that they’ll send it to your local customs department instead of delivering it to your place. If this happens, you most likely have to fill out online forms that you’ll definitely not understand. But don’t worry, they don’t expect you to. You can write bullshit on anything you don’t understand, customs folks then will fix it. This seems to be common practice, because even experts in customs stuff don’t understand this shit.

), but if should have to tell a bad point, i would say the chamber thread is a bit hard to operate, after a lot of use i still have problems to set the cap on the tip. I think what is called here by austin as "industrial thread" would be better, with less turns. (I know the threads are to enhance the heat transmission, but, due to the proximity, i think it wouldn´t be a big loss).
On the other hand, the thin thread of the heat exchanger works great.
Oh, and for those who have the Flare: 25-30 sec at 100W Very good with morocan hash

Had over 200 bowls with the vapey vape. It's shelved all of my other vapes...for now. The vapor quality is excellent and satisfying. I think it must be used with a vortex stem for the full experience. Fluttering the airport adds a lot to the experience - don't take this for granted. Hybrid mode is hands down my preferred way to heat this. I think the flavor is good at low temps, but not the best out there. You're bound to lose terps with a 45-60s heat up...which brings me to the negatives of the device.
Heating this vape up with a torch takes a lot of finesse, dexterity, and time. You are rewarded with great vapor but heating with a torch does get old pretty fast if you daily the device. It gets even more tedious because this isn't a one heat up device if you want to extract everything from the herb. I actually prefer needing multiple heat ups, but it's not fun with the torch. Using a dialed-in wand with the Dynvap silicone insert gives you 85-90% of the vapor quality compared to torch and it's MUCH easier for the 2-3 heat ups needed to finish a bowl (first is ultra low temp for terps, second is higher temp for a satisfying cloud, third for clean up.)
The build quality is excellent, except for the threads. 200+ bowls in and I am still fiddling with the threads to make it catch...and I have no dexterity issues. It doesn't get easier and is a pain in the ass sometimes (and it squeaks). it's a problem that I am hoping Austyn has a solution for in future iterations, because it does degrade the experience of what is an incredible device.

Mine just landed so I'm still honeymooning I guess but I really like it a lot. The threads are a thing (I agree they should be refined a little) but not enough of a hindrance to ruin the experience. The vapor quality and flavor are really nice, I've had no issue with under- or over-cooked bowls, though I'm still dialing the zones (I've been 100% torch, PB207). I don't find the torching times too long at all. I'm using a modular Vortex and the cooling is excellent. My stand hasn't arrived yet but even with a magnet it cools relatively quickly. I don't find this problematic but I think one thing that may lose some vapers is the small load size combined with the threads and heat retention makes a quick turnaround seem not as quick. Nevertheless it works really well and the vapor quality is very nice. I will keep mine handy for quick jolts when the Tornado seems too much, etc.

Been lurking and reading for a while and think I’m ready to put my 2 cents out there. I was one of the early adopters (1st or 2nd round) so it’s been around a bit and used heavily. The Simrell has taken up residence as my primary device. I have all sorts of dynavaps, battery powered portables and a ball vape and none of them have been used daily since I received the Simrell. It performs as I always hoped a dynavap would, plus having the ability to go more convection for daytime, hybrid for evening and conduction to wrap up a day. I don’t go super dark avb so a good light brown is what always comes out at the 1st click (maybe a few seconds after) but if you go to the second click you get much closer to that ride the line dark avb. As like another poster I have dexterity and movement issues in my hands, so I mostly use the wand to heat as holding a torch can be a pain. The threads can hold you up for a few seconds but as long as you take your time and be deliberate it’s not that bad, worse case scenario leave the cap on a flat surface and set the bowl/stem on and thread it down into the cap. Back to backs are a bit harder to pull off due to the thermal load that the capacitor transfers to the bowl, but a lil trick I’ve been using. Cool the capacitor in the stand for a few seconds, use a loop to remove it, empty the bowl and put it without the capacitor back into the stand for 15s and it’s cool enough to load without trics glueing themselves to the warm metal. Now if you have patience, like less than 1 min in the stand and it’s all cool enough to do a reload without all the extra steps. The grind and pack can play a big part on how you want your experience to be. The tighter the pack the better it is for conduction while a looser pack is key for a great convection sesh. Playing with grind consistency, coarser tends to be a touch more flavorful but it’s a super nuanced difference, whereas medium to fine will have a good punch of vapor that tapers off after the first draw. Flavor chasing is so easy and repeatable on this device paired with the wand it’s crazy. I tend to start drawing slightly before the first click while still heating in the wand to get those potent terp tastes and let it continue to heat till the first click then I’ll pull and finish the sesh in another draw or two. So far every person who has tried mine has gone and gotten one themselves, but they’re dynavap fans to start with. Hope this lil review helps those that may have questions or just looking for more opinions before pulling the trigger.
