Camouflet Ceramo XL

I always use manual mode like an electric lighter, touch the cap to the glass to prevent spinning while heating, start gentle draw after 5-6 sec/flashes get vapor at 10-12,
LET GO OF THE BUTTON to stop the magnetic field so it doesn't pull the cap off and you're rollin!
timing depends on ambient temps and weed moisture levels

just need to have a new wand routine with ceramo i guess.. but it does work well at what it's made to do in the end.. maybe get into the habit of removing from wand and tap tip super quickly somewhere on wand to push it back down a quarter inch haha.. i use triple torch 99% of the time with the XLs so never noticed that behavior (but def heard the newer cap make whine/buzz) .. need to introduce some imperfections to the stem tip surface somehow to make it less non-stick.. some micro abrasions

that's why I touch it to the inner glass.
I said it already, but in my opinion that shouldn't be necessary.
My guess is the zirconia is so smooth/polished and slippery contact with stainless may have been an unforseen issue.
I think this should have been noticed on the first day with the first prototype at the latest, assuming the prototypes were mirror polished. I didn't even think about it when purchasing because I trusted Camouflet, but the moment I had it in my hands I was thinking, "wait a minute, this is a pretty slick surface for a friction fit".

I mean, they just need to fix their device. It seems like they rushed a significantly flawed vape into production.

I wonder if one of delta 3D's larger basket screen presses could make a basket screen that would hold nicely. Just got one for my Nano XL and Terpcicle and love it.
I guess that's what I'm using from the enano XL adjustable Stem, the mesh weed basket holder does perfect, I had the same issue as you did. I was mad and I actually bent the screen in half trying to make it fit, Enano XL SS weed holder basket works perfect and fits better IMHO till my two new screens come with my Zirconia mouthpiece when it arrives, soon hopefully getting VAS just hearing about how good that new Tempest 2 with the Balls holds the Heat with Milky hits..

Anyone know if the IO Hornet can be used as a diffuser with the Convector or Convector XL or Ceramo?

Thanks!

Don’t have any Camouflet stuff, but know it works with my Dynavap tips. Out of curiosity just checked with my OG Anvil and hot damn it looks like it’ll work with the diffuser end!

The supplied lighter really is not a good fit for this vape. A double or triple flame is required, or a much bigger single.

The bamboo case is also not very practical. Mine arrived broken. A leather case is a much better idea, then you can carry it in your pocket.

The vape itself, I have been exclusively using with a torch. My wand has the v1 tempest adaptor in it and I need to remove and replace with the v2.

I took this vape, a leather case and the supplied lighter on a trip to the dam. I struggled to get it hot enough. However I had lots of low temp hits that where very nice.

At home I have used a bigger torch. When you heat this vape right, the hits are flavour town +++. The high has a unique signature which is rather pleasing. Hits are very good.

However coming from portable ball vapes, the heat does not last long enough for me, even with the super capacitor. Its a lot of effort to heat right, and the reward is great, but after a while tiring to use. I tend to switch to something easier, after a while.

I'll try it with the wand soon, and see if I get these weird experiences others have.

I've considered that also, I wonder how much it varies, and how it relates to power output. Because the timings I have used seem fairly consistent with other people's.

Yeah I don't want to have to do that. Would common sandpaper even work on the zirconia?

I doubt it but it's possible. The replacement came with another cap also but I haven't tried it because I wanted to keep it as unused as possible while resolving this issue.

Sure, here's the video I sent them:
I just set its visibility to public

gonna agree the polished/glazed outer on ceramo does not play well with the ss, friction fit needs some friction. If I hadn't lost it out of my pocket last week I'd take some emery cloth to the out side of the bowl to increase the friction,
To get around this effect w/wand I press against the lip of the glass while heating, start slow draw at 5-6 while pressed to inner glass, let go of the button around 9-12 and only when the magnetic field stops pull out of the wand.
don't have the inductor but if Lee would touch it to the top of the cap it can't lift off.

update, Found the ceramo and tried to scuff the outer bowl to add some friction to the fit. Failure! sandpaper, file, utility blade; hardly scratched it that is some hard stuff. will try a grinder wheel next.

I don't have those issues with the cap anymore. I had them at first, it even uncapped once while heating up, but after bending the dents of the super capacitor right, it just stays in place without issues. Been like that for 2 weeks, and I only use a wand to heat up.

I’m wondering if some of the people having cap issues are pushing the cap down too far. There’s a little taper around where the bottom of the bowl is. There’s a little bump but it’s enough the spread the fins a bit on the cap and loosen it. If you seat the cap so it sits right where the taper starts, you shouldn’t have any issues from my experience.

I know this is a bit off topic but does anyone know how to clean to the carbon beads or are they just considered a consumable? I couldn’t find anything on Camouflet’s website.

Consumable, yeah. They are to be discarded after no longer effective or unusable/dirty.. not sure how I feel about these tbh - concept is to load up all your desired beads first and then sprinkle a few in/small layer at the end. My gut instinct makes me think carbon would not only take out undesirables from inhaling (good) but odors as well including the flavor too, no?

Not only that it was a huge pain in the ass to load as the screen kept popping out. Of course this was after trying to get the cap not to pop off when using any type of Induction. The carbon beads do make for a decently flavorful hit but it was so difficult to pull that off I will probably be gravitating towards my easier to use devices instead. I certainly wouldn’t trust this enough to hand to a friend to use.

exactly. the mouthpiece is actually nice.. but using those red o-rings the mouthpiece kinda jiggles a little like a loose tooth on mine.. doesn't pull out easily but not sure I would trust it with balls going everywhere when behind it.. maybe some twisty intercoolers and old dynavap condensers or whatever other left over shit I have lying around in there instead (less disaster), lol.

Use both orange rings and one of thr included thicker black o rings and it should be super snug

Hmm.. I couldn't get the bigger one to go in (tried) its the same diameter of the outer opening.. fits the cxl no problem.. maybe i could lube it and twist it in somehow - gonna be super tight.. will try again later ...

a better idea woulda been to just extend the mouthpiece connector end to a full length quad bore with 2 more o-rings slots along it.. one piece mouthpiece/quadbore all in one slide in/out.. no balls

Same, black ones wouldn't fit the Ceramo so I used Dynavap o-rings, they grip a little better than the orange ones. I wouldn't trust balls in this setup though.

Sorry to see so many having issues with the Ceramo. With the fin adjustment tool I haven't had any prob with the cap, but loaned my Wand to a buddy.

Similarly my screen is staying in place well. Tho a force fit basket screen should be able to work as an easy fix there.

Sorry not everyone has had my experience.

yup.. the balls aren't gonna be as hot as say 630F+ ball vape head balls.. not sayin' you can't get burned.. maybe a hot potato dance trying to catch them.. it's the mess I would be dreading.. finding balls for days, ha
