DIY ball-vape using my PID & 30mm axial coil

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to figure out if I can turn my current dabbing setup (CrossingTech Micro Enail with a 30mm axial coil) into a ball vape setup.
There are so many options and sellers out there that I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, so I thought I'd ask for some help here from people who know their stuff.

Since I already have the PID controller and the coil, I'm hoping to find compatible parts to complete a budget-friendly ball vape build – ideally without having to buy a full kit for hundreds of euros.
I'm located in Europe, so please avoid US-only suggestions (due to shipping & customs), but Chinese sources like AliExpress are totally fine.

I don’t mind if the end result is “wireless” or not – I just want it to work well and be cost-efficient.

Thanks a lot for any advice you can give!

You could make a Binky (Big Pinky): https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/...l-extraction-device.52169/page-9#post-1837513

@Fish! also made a "Heavy Epitome" using a steel sleeve:

Obviously if you buy another coil your options open up a bit more
Thanks so much!! That’s the link indeed for the sleeve needed to heavy an Epitome. The selection I use is a 25x30x30 sleeve. The material is GCR15 Steel which expands a lot less than the epitome. That means you can fit the sleeve cold and it may even be very slightly loose - but as soon as the assembly heats up at all the sleeve locks into place extremely, extremely securely!

The sleeve itself, with an outer diameter of 30mm, becomes what the coil touches entirely. That means you would want to stretch your average ~23mm tall 30mm axial coil quite a bit to about 30mm of height to work ideally here

ohh you fellas gave me some good inspirations.
so I would basically just need a ceramic nozzle (or a steel sleve like Fish) that has outer diameter of 30mm or just under so it will be tight enough on my coil, while I can stretch the coil for a bit to heat a taller area. with ruby pearls inside and meshes closing both ends. heating on a stand and then be put on an injector holding flower waiting on my rig.

does that sound reasonable? (I feel like I got that "2 left hands" debuff for crafting thats why I look for confirmation lol)

So just for some clarity here, the steel sleeve solution (Heavy Eptiome) requires a steel baller to start, recommending the Epitome here as mentioned… that’s a Cloud Connoisseur product tho who ship from the US which might be a non starter reading above. The Binky, though, is truly fully DIY. You can build that with parts from Amazon or similar!

Your plan, putting steel aside, sounds great with a caveat: you will need to figure out a handle situation. An axial coil won’t work to turn a nozzle into a wired vape, so you need a handle to remove the head from the axial coil and place it on to a bowl. Fortunately the surfaces of these nozzles are very rough; a metal friction fit of some sort around the thinnest part of the unit is probably the play

Hey again, after some planning I got a weird idea that might work tho - what you guys think about this?
so basically I would just get two titanium injector chambers of this type:

One for heating, one as herb chamber. The top part seems to be perfectly 30mm in diameter same as the glass adapter pieces that fit into the bottom. so the top one is coiled and heated with 3mm ruby perls inside while being held on a stand and once im about to smoke I will put it on top of the one that sits on my rig filled with herb and if the top really fits perfectly into the bottom it might be much more handy than regular DIY setups because it would sit kinda safely instead of being manually held on the injector bowl while vaping like the regular pinky setup. maybe gotta remove both (or just the upper) o-ring because of its heat resistance.
Any objections? :D

nvm, fk this half waying - the quote 'buy once, cry once' really inspired me to go for a ruby twist + microdosing bowl and I ordered a mega globe MK2. Thanks anyway

Good call I was going to say, those bowls and those measurements didn’t make a lot of sense to me off the rip (the crossing titanium bowl has a ~21.5mm main body outer diameter), but the RT is absolutely a nice get, enjoy!! 😊
