Shouldn't new Thermal Accumulators be available in February? Have I missed the release again?

Great, thanks for the information!

Been waiting for the TA, like many others since Dec 2022. Still a bit confused after viewing the instagram video. Am I correct in assuming that their are two different sized versions of the TA that will be available? Also, is the screw on top just for attaching the tip to the ball chamber or can it also adjust air flow?

@phattpiggie mentioned several times over the past year that there will be plenty tips available for customers at the general release. Only two months in and 2024 is looking like another great year for vape enthusiasts.

Some with variable air intake. And one (on the right) with variable air intake and easy removable top piece to take balls of easily. And all of them have more balls than the OG (70 instead of 55).
Is there any more info you or anyone else could easily pass across to here?
e.g. Do you know the bowl price and size(s)? I assume it's an 8mm fitting? Thanks.

Regarding the price, I don’t really know, since I don’t think @phattpiggie has set the price yet. For instance, the OG was around 80€. But I will let PP correct if necessary. And for the size, it fits any stem which is ‘Dynavap compatible’. But it needs a stem which can hold quite a lot of heat.

I am an owner of an OG, and from my experience, it took a little while to get to really enjoy my TA. For me, this vap is in the family of the ‘organic’ vap, where you need to try many times to get the feeling of when things are right. It is all up to you, heat strength, where and how long you heat, etc… so it takes a little practice. But as everyone says, the TA is really forgiving. And when you get the hang of it, the TA is amazing. I first found that out for hash, with the massive heat retention, you get to enjoy long sessions, with the hash slowly heating up and I got to really appreciate it ! And for a little while, I have been trying with whole nugs, and there again, with the heat slowly building up, the taste is really great, you can go from low to high temp, up to you !
Here is for my experience, it is worth what it is, considering I love PP’s work, but this vap definitely rocks and needs more love

Thanks, that's really informative! I'm not sure yet whether it would suit me, I'm not the best at judging indicator-less devices, but then I've not tried something of this nature before (ball head).
Having a Tempest now, I was thinking the stem may be suitable with a TA, at the least as a way of trying a TA on the cheap(er), then if it grows on me more, I could get another stem for it? Does that sound a reasonable idea? (at least with what's known so far).

From what I recall, it’s a slim version of the TA that PP made that was the proof of concept for the Tempest (hence the name of the Tempest’s thread) so with the TA, you are basically dealing with a larger tempest (once again, any one correct me, I don’t own yet a tempest), without any indicator. But as I was saying, after a (small) time, you easily know when the cap is hot enough. And the heater is really forgiving. As heat is concerned, I would expect the tempest stem (which is the revolve v3) to take the heat of the TA, but can anyone confirm ? Maybe the wood does a better job than the metal sleeve ? It would avoid you getting another stem, even though PP does amazing stems

Yeah, my comparison showed almost identical design to the revolve2, only minor differences, my guess is it would take it, but not on all settings.
e.g. on open head-intake but closed cooling inlet, the tempest will does a great job of cooling, but that heat has to go somewhere, so the stem gets pretty warm, especially the half nearer the bowl. I'm guessing the TA has a higher capacitance (heat wise), so if on the same airflow settings (cooling vent) after the first couple hits, the stem would become too hot to hold comfortably and safely.

Wood is great for insulating from flesh, but has the downside of reducing heat dumping, so cooling reduces with time for that session (or bowl) so the vapour will get hotter to the throat. But I know bog all about the TA so that's all just generalisation about how it would work on the 'pest's stem.

Ok, lets see if I can communicate without pissin' off everyone and their brother...

So, as an open question, I'd be so grateful if anyone could pass on any info on the new TA's launching (which I presume is likely to come on instagrab first), over to the thread here when they get a chance? I'd even say thank you! (which for me, is pretty good going!).

But seriously, it would be really helpful to know when they are available and I genuinely would appreciate it. TIA! 😊 <= me trying to look nice!

It's gone really quiet here this week!
Is it the sense of restrained anticipation as the new TA's grow ever more tangible while we wait with drooling jowels, or was it something I said? 😁

(Oh, ok then, while I wait with drooling ... 😉)

I got my finger on the trigger for my first TA :brow:. Even if I think there will be enough for everybody . I am hesitating between the 2 adjustable airflow ones. The third one which could take a VI like the tempest is excluded for me because it's not sure this will happen. The candidates are the knurled heater wich is based on the OG and is China made ( but he machined the holes himself) and holds 55 balls Phatpiggie told me, and the the UK made not knurled which holds 70 balls and is thinner for the top part as I can see. What do you guys think ? I think I like the OG style the best but the other one is fine too, holds more balls and is entirely uk made (just a little bit more expensive but about the same)
I think they'll be similar but I wonder if it would be more convenient in use to heat faster and have a bit less heat retention or the opposite:hmm:
The heatsink/decaper looks neat too but as there is no more wooden part attached to the bowl to hold it I wonder if it will spin on the stem when turning to decapit while hot.
