I'm realizing I'm smoking this like a joint with some air going through the sides of my mouth, but now it has me all sorts of fucked up about how to actually hit this thing. The draw resistance seems so much more when not letting air in through the sides of your mouth.
I know this isn't the best device for big groups, but I'm going to show this off to a big group of friends soon. Currently setting my wand to 570 F and waiting til timeout gets me a perfect dark brown roast (visual indicator just below the 3rd line).
For reheats I've heard it said that the 2nd...
I know a lot of you have a reload, but does anyone have a doob tube that is wide enough to fit a tempest for easy loading while out and about?
Edit: Another question I've had is that it seems like my wand and click settings are different from what others are reporting here. I've gone up to 565F...
Since the Tempest has so many different setups, what would you all recommend for the first bowl? What's the best easy forgivable way to smoke this for those of us getting our feet wet for the first time?
I did notice that the website says that the fulfillment time will be 3-4 weeks from order date. I know Brenyo said mid-week this week (which appears to be true for some purchasers so far), but it may be a little longer. All I ask is if you do get your order fulfilled, post some pics/videos!
I...
I'm excited for the pre-order! I saw in a ball vape thread that it's actually better to hit it faster to get more heat flowing through the herb faster and it made me think: what's everyone's preferred way of hitting the Tempest? Is it long and slow? Or fast and big? Small puffs?
You may have already looked at this, but Brenyo updated the website some time ago to now include information on the different balls.

I was actually just getting on to ask a similar question. The Tempest preorder page says you can get free boro or zirc balls on preorders. Default is zirc, so the option is either more zirc balls in case you lose any, or boro for a potentially different ball experience that you can switch out...
@Brenyo The website mentions how much of each oring is included if you buy the extra set but I'm not sure how many are used in total for the Tempest. Is the spare set enough for just 1 spare of each oring? If I wanted at least 2 extras, I'd have to buy 2 sets of spares?
Oh shit, the website now says release in July instead of soon. I've also noticed it says preorder only, free wand adapter, stand, and extra zirc or boro balls.
What's the quick rundown on the ball differences again?
Edit: Nevermind the website answers the question for me.
Since the tempest is mostly convection, does anyone notice a difference in effects vs conduction? Maybe there's another thread for this (and I'm not asking for a comparison to a specific conduction device). I'm just curious if anyone's been able to get more of a conduction or hybrid effect from...
