Not really, on demand mode is still session style so it's not as efficient in that way, it's more like manually customizable micro...

you could leave the tube in, but the on-demand mode still has a shutdown timer, so you would still need to turn it back on after shut...

That's pretty much the plan. I like to achieve a level of buzz in the morning and then try to maintain it.

I just read a suggestion to simply take out the tube between hits if you don't plan on finishing it right away.
