Medium to course. It's almost pure Convection. So you don't want to mess the airflow up with too fine a grind. Not sure about whole nug. I will have to experiment. My instinct says ground will give better results.
I honestly prefer the more elegant vapour path. There is such a thing as too much cooling depending on use case. Cooler vapour condenses more and leaves actives behind on the cooling path. V2 stays cleaner and seems to offer more potency per g.
What matters is does it have enough cooling? And...
I've never used the temps on the wand. It's just a timer anyway. Best use depends on battery quality/age/charge, ambient room temperature, ball type, desired roast level etc.
For these reasons I either time it myself, or use the click and VI as a guide. Currently I wait until the click then...
V2 is bigger, which allows for larger balls (3mm) without cutting number of balls down significantly. This gives it more heat capacity which gives a longer extraction window. The V2 also has more induction heater efficient material helping efficiency. The V2 bowl doesn't have heat sink fins...
I was the same. I use the stem on the V2 as a WPA. There is no trade off in airflow, and I like the extra cooling for use with small pieces.
I've even started using the stem as a general use WPA for other vape heads. I love the new stem.
I imagine the cooling is great. How is the airflow restriction. Is there a big trade off?
Compared to a third party TM glass stem for example. I don't think the stock CU should be compared to as it's terrible and no one in their right kind uses it.
I like V2 more in all honesty. Better extraction, bigger wider bowl, so even when in smaller bowl setting you benefit from more airflow. The WPA functionality. Increased potency. Increased IH efficiency.
I also think the stem is an amazing one stem fits all. It's the best stem for the Tornado...
This. The T2 has great cooling. If T1 has more cooling, it isn't by a substantial margin at all. I also think some of the extra potency is due to the new stem.
The mp acts like a lock for whatever air setting you set it to. I prefer this over the T1. It's a nice feeling having everything locked in, as I only tend to change airflow when I change other things like bowl size, tip airflow, WPA mode etc.
I have not used it without the spiral. That would just be a straight tube. I see no reason for that. It does come with a shorter spiral. I intend to experiment with it.
I use it without glass all the time. I can do a single hit DTL on 0.15g bowl. That's a monster hit for a stem.
When I have...
I'm finding the click calibration similar to V1. My preferred roast is 3-4 seconds beyond it.
I think this is intentional. You can't force everyone to go for a dark roast. Lots of people go lighter. I think it is well calibrated to click at the beggining of the range that most users will go for.
I believe only really sensitive users will not get on with T2 cooling. It's not that the T2 lacks cooling. It cools very well. I can do a one hit DTL 0.15g bowl with it. It's just that T1 with Helix had more cooling than it needed imo.
EDIT- just putting it back together. I'm shocked at how...
I recall. I have this post of yours bookmarked :D
Gazed at it more than a few times pondering next purchase. I love your Plum wood Punch BTW. Where I grew up we had plum trees everywhere, and in the garden. Ib the summer the ground would be covered in splattered plums. I'm very envious of this...
