Hi Everyone,
I've had an opportunity to throw a thermocouple on the Solo and wanted to share some results. I've found the crucible temps (as measured by hand holding temp sensor centered on bottom of crucible) as published by Arizer - to be very accurate. That is, the steps follow the...
Just attempted this myself and confirm your finding. Finished my last 'cordless' session (no PA used; starting battery charge level at 1) and then put my 'new' (charge & heat) Solo on the stock PA (8.68v DC) to charge. Wasn't able to fully charge (green charging LED solid) either. In fact, was...
I'm an EO 'lightweight' so 10 seconds on, 45 off.
My vote for the LL: 20 seconds on, 40 seconds off or 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off.
Good stuff. Thanks.

Hi Pipes,
Somehow managed to miss your OP (and almost the most recent repost). Interesting comments from Kevin regarding the 3v trickle charge and the "You can use your Solo with the Power Adapter 'when the Solo does not need to be charged' to 'bypass the battery completely' which will help...
Hi Poonman,
Here's what happens for me (from a 'cold' start):
Plug charger into wall.
Connect Solo (Edit: 'new' charging/heating type) to charger.
Blue Idle Led flashes once.
Yellow Level 7 Led flashes once at moment of Solo 'beep'.
Now:
Blue Idle Led is lit; Solo now shows BATTERY LEVEL...
Hello FCrs,
I have run these experiments and come to the same conclusions as @OF (caveat: my conclusions are based on tests on my own Solo received 12/26/13). My 'new' Solo works in PA when its' battery has been Removed (so it would seem that "lights and timer while in PA mode" could not be...
Hey an0maly,
I think you'll like the Solo (I own two). Dependable, VERY easy to use (who needs hassle when they're in pain?). Check out the Solo thread (it's now 1058 pages long) - lots of satisfied customers for a solid product. I've no experience with Vapor Seller, but Randy at Puff It Up...
Hi notoriousLrg,
Clouds = NICE!! Just remember to be specific about the issue when you send it in for rebuild. Might not hurt to ask them to visually and tactilely compare the 'sharp lip' on your TI EO core - to the 'smooth lip' found on current production cores (you can really 'feel' the...
Hi notoriousLrg,
Sorry to hear that - perhaps a 'sharp-lipped' one that made its' way into inventory and was shipped by accident? I also had a TI EO core that would shred my o-rings no matter how carefully I attempted to install my smooth flow MP (or any other drip tip for that matter). Had it...
Hi Airdru,
There were a limited number of EO cores (at the very beginning of CERA's launch) that had a sharp lip that could shred o-rings. The problem was identified and corrected early on (I believe within a month of launch?) and AFAIK with the exception of that limited batch - all EO cores...
Hey Everyone,
Just noticed @ShayWhiteGrow's posting (in the CERA thread) that he received his Luna launch email!! Congrats to @ShayWhiteGrow!!! Enjoy!!

Hey gbetter,
Sorry for tardy reply-browser issues. I believe I have 'regular-sized' (113) high temp rated o-rings in both my Solos. It's the same o-ring that PV provides(ed) when you purchase one of their regular or PVHE gongs/stems.

Hey gbetter,
I have a M1D2 and was able to install one of the high temp o-rings 'as is'. Stem retention and airflow as advertised. However, some forum members have reported 'different' caps (varying from height to thickness to number of threads available I believe?) at least among the 'older'...
Hey Dr. S and fellow FCrs,
Regretfully this has been my experience as well (M1D2). I've used a variety of supplies also: Arizer's stock PA (labeled as 8.5v DC @5amps - but mine is actually 8.68v DC), Tim's PA and another one I had laying around the house (~9v DC).
It appears that @Pipes' fear...
