Yeah, is still happens, no way to avoid it I'm afraid. You can clean it with Barkeepers Friend like you said but it will go right back after awhile.

@Baron23 you're not alone, mine worked well with the first hopper i put it on but I just tried my newest repaired hopper and it only made it a half a screw...hope this universal adapter works out cause I think I need one. :\
