    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

Well, I grew up with the FF1, I knew what to expect, and surprisingly the FF2 did better for me than expected. Honestly what to expect of vapor cloud production? Not like E-cigs or cigarettes or even the Pax etc. But this IS mainly convection, and for me it feels very efficient. The pax heats...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

Im not sure why, but my bowl cooks evenly. Only got hotspot with mesh screen, not with original. Not sure if its because Increased hole size. Also get good clouds on first draw O.o No black parts spotted!

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

My old FF1 used to combust every few weeks or so, sporadically. But the FF2 has been good to me. Sad to see you are having problems regarding the device. Its quite simply comes to this though; Caused by faulty device, or user simply has too high expectations when it comes to 'cloud'...

I'm a bit surprised they cant get the battery level right. Isn't that, in it's most basic form, just read out battery voltages? How hard it for the device firmware to learn when your device is empty/full (low / high voltage) ???

Too bad. FF2 really should have temp probe :o I think the ceramic piece right under bowl could house a mini sensor :D

Mhh, but.... despite these devices being inaccurate, if you can measure the lowest and highest temp settings on the FF, and since we know the FF temps, we can 'calibrate' our meters based on that? At least we have a rough indication i guess :P

Did anyone ever use a (IR?) temperature meter to measure in front of the glass when vaping? Perhaps interesting to see the actual bowl temp when inhaling and make a reference chart on what settings actually relate to real life temps?

Vaporization temperature dependent selection of effects

So just curious, isnt it so that the highest possible temp (before combustion ofc) pretty much releases all the possible compounds, whereas going lowest temp on the chart will only release the first lowest and single compound? And going middle temp will only activate the lowest half of all the...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

True, but the air inside the ceramic part bounces on the screen and spreads out a bit anyway. As long as the air restriction is narrow enough air will still get spread over all the holes pretty evenly. An affect which afaik will only subside if the holes get too big, like the SS mesh screen it...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

Ok so this is my theory of things. The original FF had indentions, grooves, or whatever you want to call it, on the back of the top cover surrounding the glass. Obviously this was to make sure the hot air got sucked equally out of the bowl to the mouthpiece path. And it worked as I can recall...

You're making me anxious now :p I'm still not surr what ya mean, but if this means peeling off the rubber gasket im not even going to try anything there! On another note, is it widely accepted that the power tuning works in a way thay it can basically make High and lets say medium/high be the...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

Well, im sure the placement is calculated and optimized, i can see how the small holes are evenly distributed, and on top of that it forced the heat of those holes into the herb mix, just like a can of hairspray. I dont think increasing the holes slightly will ruin stuff, just unrestricting the...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

Nothing is perfect. Advantage is lower draw resistance/lung stress. Disadvantage imho too low draw resistance, not evenly cooked, again imho. Drilling holes wider on original screen seems to be a better solution
