It is no real secret... but took me a lot of trial and errors with material. 0.03X100X1000mm SSL 304 here - It is like a foil, tried to cut 10mm wide stripes got 11mm. 0,295ohms. I would post my material file, but I am still fiddling...more material test to come. @highvaper: You can wrap it...

ordering process... ;) ... come to me little picos.... I can imagine a pretty pico desktop/portable with a hardwired heater (or the 5 pin PID plug). RotaryKnobDisplay (Aliexpress) MosFetModule (Aliexpress). To keep the volt range. I have them in stock.

That sounds really nice. Soldering is OK, my coding is bad. Assistance... please. My tube is still a 16mm tube, maybe that went under the radar.

Spot welding...cool idea. I wanted to avoid soldering about the temps like you, thanks for the hcl reminder. The screw things clamps are a good heat insulation at least for short time... if this oven is hot for a longer time EVERITHING is hot. ;) I have now bought an M7 0.5 tap and cut the...

Thank you. OHMS is one of those things. The part is just a prototype. I tried to implement it beforehand with cables and crocodile clips. Unfortunately that doesn't work, I had to learn. At the moment, my heating element has something around 0.3 ohms. So first finish building, then the ohms...

What 510 "socket" do you use? It is so crazy to find a "processable" 510 MALE connector. The RDA options are way to big. I found one that works for me so far - not really solid. 510-soldering.

FOR SURE! I went with ssl (Hand cut!) ... really thin, heats up... FAST! ;)

... nice to see it grow. ;) Meanwhile... I made some progress too. Now shrinking and housing. Cheers! The Mod keeps the temp really close to the externally test measurement but you have to fiddle a lot with the material file.

... or cork. For that "proof of concept" style. ;) And, for later, at least horizontal alignment for the heater, that your herb don't fall out. And it is so cool to watch this growing.

@TommyDee While we're on the subject... Do you have any experience with extending the coil? I'm thinking of a 30-50 cm long extension cable. Would that be possible?

Yes they are ;) ... have you tried temps in direction 200-230°C? And for your smoke problem... I used the same wire as for the coil. Or way thicker wire. But we are talking about frequencies so I don't know if that helps.

Wow! You're taking this seriously. Are you sure you want to roll this out "under or in" my thread? You should start your own! Cool stuff! Good progress. I want to see more. ;)

The sandwich idea is not bad. But it would need a huge heating coil. Or did I miss something? Air intake IMHO (speaking of BAKx or my attempt) is not so important. You can influence that with draw speed, and how deep you adjust the bowl in the test tube. And surprisingly (Jerry mentioned it in...

Oh wow. What a cool idea. Hello highvaper, and hello TommyDee. In the meantime, I have noticed that my system cools down incredibly quickly. That's why I've now filled the gaps in the coil with thick copper wire. This results in better heat transfer / heat storage and the temperature sensor...

    Completed (EU) BAKx

Hi, I'm offering my first BAKx here. It even has a little history: I was a bidder on the "082 fiasco" back in July 2023 when 10 people ordered the same device. This one is #104. I now have one made of mahogany. My dream came true. I do collect, but #104 is just to good/to pretty for the shelf...
