For a grinder? I'd say it isn't preferable, because, depending on the usage - you can damage the softer one... But I doubt they sell...

The idea of a titanium three piece is making me feel butterflies in my stomach. My Christmas wish list now includes a 3 inch titanium BCG.

What's the benefits of a 2 piece over a 3? I like the storage but I guess others transfer or use all the material?
