When I want to de gunk my IO I turn it on w/o anything in it and let it cook for a couple of times.
The gunk is then all gooey and maleable. Everything comes apart easily for maintenance with some ISO.
Just be careful as everything is very hot. Especially the point--I hit that once--OUCH.
Just wanted to share my mistake with the community.
My box started to accumulate an awful amount of junk on the rails and I decided to do the ISO thing which worked really well except I went a bit overboard and splashed some ISO on the wood and started cleaning the wood also.
The wood...
At the top of the trench I have noticed a build-up of a solid bunch of gook.
Can this be removed?
I have used ISO on my other vape, the Iolite, to loosen gunk from the screen which is removeable for a soaking.
Any suggestions for maintenance of my mflb and getting rid of this hardened gunk?
I love my Iolite, especially with friends and family.
Also look for the Magic-Flight Launch Box. A really good buy for a top notch vape:

There is a 400 page forum discussion on this same site.
My on/off switch goes halfway to the middle seam when it is off--seems to work just fine.
I also have a launch box and an I-torch which is sorta like a battery operated IO.
I have an IO and a LB.
My IO was having issues which I found out was from my using an off brand fuel.I now use only Colibri and all is well.
While I was going through my issues with the IO I bought the I-torch from a highly rated Ebay merchant for $130 delivered.
To put it very simply--for me...
I think they added a rubbery ring which may be the culprit giving you the resistance you describe.
The ring may be easily removeable but I would maybe check with them on how to remove it.
I just got an Iolite-like device which acts just like my IO except it runs on rechargeable batteries.
Same setup---right down to the tools and screen.
It is called the zico I-torch--$130 from an Amazon shop.
It looks like an IO on steroids--bigger, fatter and heavier.
So when my IO gets...
You really dont need the pa right now.
A few pages back I linked to a high end 2700 4 piece battery package from newegg for 12 delivered. They work great with the charger you get with your box. So you would have 8 batteries which are plenty to run through.
thanks for you feedback Purpl3_Haz3 and derp and the links you posted.
My gratitude speaks.
I wound up just using the LB w/o the stem and will place an order for some back up stems.
thank you.
I have misplaced / lost the mouthpiece tube that came with my LB.
I have a houseful of my kids and my grandkids visiting so I can not get on my hands and knees with a flashlight and go looking for it.
I know I really don't need it as I can draw out without it but it feels awkward not using it...
I got my MFLB this week and it came with a charger, the v-818 charger:

I finished charging a brand new Powerex 2700 and it was really super hot, just a tad shy of scorching my hand.
I am all new to this so my question: is this normal for a battery to get so hot?
It was on...
