Vapes on Planes - Traveling With Vaporizers

International travel = automatic T-break for me. But I'm in the minority here.

Edit: On the TSA x-ray, organic items show up orange, and non-organic show green. So hiding organic material behind a bunch of other stuff may not be effective.

– Orange is biological material. Anything that is natural, that is, and some things that aren’t. Rubber, leather, food, dynamite and other explosives (except plastique – that’ll turn slightly blueish), all liquids and gels and organic powders (like flour, for example).

So the package would be the same colour as the cream, but maybe a different shade. I also assume there will be an outline from the plastic wrapping.

There are 20+ items in my wash bag most of whoch contain organic materials. I would love to see the mess this shows in the x-ray.

They can very easily take you out of line and completely search you and you luggage and will not hesitate to do so. There is no time limit or "crush" of people making this more difficult for them. If you get caught you could be put to death. I hope the 2 grams of weed you took there is worth it.

FYI I live in the states and my flight was to Florida. I noticed no one has commented on my original post but people have been giving ktmstick a hard time. Is it because of his method of packing or the fact that he was on an international flight???

As for my upcoming flight to Miami, I think I've decided I'm too sketched to take any flower or concentrate on the plane with me. Think I will just UPS Next Day Air my concentrate (maybe also some flower, haven't decided) to our hotel in Miami. And, carry my vapes, pens, batteries, etc. on the plane. All fresh stuff, no dirty coils, etc.

Some of you guys are so brazen! Thailand?! I like a puff as much as the next guy but nothing's worth some brutal Thai prison or a death sentence. (In any case, I'm well into outdoor grown shit, so I'd be on the look out for their renowned domestically grown varieties.)

One time I took an international flight and after having been abroad about a week, I found some shit in the deep pocket of my backpack that I'd forgotten about. I almost had a heart attack when I discovered that!

For me, when it comes to air travel, I'd rather just accept the fact that life is often unfair, and I can't take certain shit with me on holiday. But that's just me, I have a low tolerance for paranoia. If you fellas want to do it, more power to you. Or I'll just buy some off you for 4x the price after we land.

Also, it can't be that hard to find most places in the world - everybody's doing it.

You probably won't get caught. Odds are in your favor. This thread and many other reports all over the interwebs will back that up. But, if you do caught - you're fucked! Usually, in more than just a figurative way.

Domestically? It would suck, but if you're only holding a bit of personal all it is going to cost you is a lot of time, money for fines and money for legal fees. No fun and you may lose your job and the possibility of getting another decent one for a few years. Still not worth it IMO, but do whatever you're comfortable with.

Awwwww.... I don't know about that. I'm sure guards in most 3rd world prisons would give you a chance to get online for a couple minutes for only $500-600 US - if there is any internet available. Wouldn't any good FCer spend those few moments to come here and tell us how much they f'd up?

Actually.... good point. My guess is even if they get out alive after 5-10 years they're probably not going to be coming on here to tell their tale. Then again, you may catch them on Locked Up Abroad!

Hate to pile on on the OP, and am glad he made it in and out. But, really don't feel like this one can be preached on enough. When traveling internationally, if you can't hook up there and leave leftovers of whatever you pick up, it's probably a good time for a T-break.

Regarding travel, I have been reading the forum and i have found a bunch of threads about vaping and air travel but not oil/concentrate and safety.

I am using an iTaste VV and am heading out in a few weeks and would like to take it along with my concentrate. Any experience with this and security? I read the thread by MoneyVapetheWorldGoRound and his experience with wax. Domestic travel. Thanks for the insight.

With regards to vape equipment, from what I understand it is totally OK to take vapes, batteries, clean coils, tools, etc. in a carry on. This is what I plan on doing later on a domestic flight.

As for concentrates, I was going to put them in my checked bag with my toiletries. But I chickened out and put it all in a mason jar and shipped it to my destination hotel.

How could anyone tell you how risky it is? How do you define "really risky"? Do you expect that if someone here says it will be fine that you'll be free from trouble? You'll have to decide for yourself. Best of luck. And welcome to FC!

You MUST understand the laws concerning drugs not only in your destination but any place your flight may land before your destination. It is not uncommon to be asked to deplane and go through customs again before re-boarding and continuing your flight. Every country is different in how they pursue security. Only YOU can weigh the risks involved and what the ramifications will be to you, and your family, if you get caught.

Be really careful flying Internationally. Sometimes it involves less stress if you buy your vaporizer after you get to your destination. It's not really worth it if you are denied entry back on your plane or entry into a particular country. It could screw up your whole vacation. Do your studying regarding the rules.

I normally travel with my supply in the trunk of my car. Would shipping be a wiser choice from a safety perspective?

I wouldn't say it is safe, but to me it felt safer than flying. You can still get busted shipping or the package be lost or stolen.

You're talking about driving - personally I would take driving over shipping any day. Domestically of course.

If you are going to drive be careful in the flyover, non cannabis friendly, states especially ones that border Colorado. The cops in these areas are very attuned to people traveling interstate with cannabis on board. An out of state plate is a red flag for them.

That's pretty much exactly what I'm going to be doing - exiting Colorado into NM/TX.

I'm fairly low risk. I drive a well maintained, inconspicuous vehicle, always drive the speed limit, etc. There's no reason to even pull me over, much less search.

How hostile is New Mexico, especially south of Durango?
