why my honest torch for my lotus hisses and sputters as I hit it?

I am having trouble with the torch that came with my lotus. As I begin to hit it it's almost as if it hisses from bottom and the flame sputters and goes out? Any ideas? It seems to only start when I begin to draw?

try bleeding the air out of it then refilling

To purge do I simply push something in bottom to empty? Outside probably?

It could be the way you are turning/holding it. I had similar problems with one of my lighters, I figured out I was holding it at too sharp of an angle

Does the angle not matter? It seems to be happening when my tank is half full? Seems as though when I fill it completely then no problem..and its when I begin to draw? Maybe defective lighter? Lol
