OK, so recently I begun buying shatter/wax instead of making it myself due to a nice connect. A buddy of mine was using some really crap oil and was like watch this, he dabbed, but instead of inhaling he held a lighter over it, and to not my surprise it bursts into flame from all the butane....i laughed and started to show him how my wax and shatter doesnt do it.....but it did....wtf....ok so maybe i got a bad batch....so i heated up a nice glob of oil (making sure not to burn it away) to get all if any butane out of it.....dabbed that and somethign still causes a flame to ignite....please...wtf is up...this oil didnt have any more butane in it..i made sure of that....do all BHO do this because you orignally use butane, this may change my mind....before you start hating on my oils, please try it yourself and video tape it....if it doesnt happen post it here please.

None of my oils and waxes have sparked, sizzled or sputtered. Maybe once, when buying concentrates on the cheap. Is your concentrate completely bubble-free?

The way I understand to test oils/wax is to put it on a piece of aluminum foil, which is heated from below with a lighter. Not sure if your method of applying heat directly matters to the result. But that's how I did it.

Edit: Just recreated the test from the OP. No sizzle here.

Entirely possible that you ignite the fine vapor droplets of the cannabinoids themself.

Most everything can get ignited if the particles are small enough. Like flour explosions.

Wouldn't surprise me if a super-dense mist of 'noids ignites when you hold a flame to it.

I heated my lowest quality oil from above, on a dabber with a bic. It turned runny and fell off, but no combustion. Sorry OP, I'm not making a vid.

If you put a lighter to most things, they will catch on fire - even bubble hash. They shouldn't 'burst into flame' though.

I think i need to clarify, you get the nail heated, and hold a lighter above the tip of nail about an inch away, throw the dab on the nail and it seems something causes it to go up in flames

Definitely sounds like what I described in my above post, then.

@Dafni is correct. The dab upon hitting the nail immediately vaporizes creating the visible "smoke" that is the full density of the beginning dab now just simply spread out for maximum surface area in an attempt to move from the area of such high heat to another cooler area. This superfine mist of material is coming off of such a high heat that it still retains, until it cools and condenses. If after running from one high heat and then placed in an open flame under maximum surface area with oxygen abundant.... Hell cow sh!t would combust under those conditions, not that I suggest anyone try it....

Hardly a test of anything, simply a bar trick when you understand the science going on.
