How do you people take the metal part off the MP. I feel like its going to break, and it doesnt turn or budge at all. Am I too weak??

Just yank a bit. It is in there tight, but the metal piece just sits in the plastic. When it comes out the ring falls off so be mindful of that so you don't lose it.

I decided to purchase a Pax because I needed a portable that I could use outdoors (in public) without drawing too much attention to myself. I must say that I’m really enjoying my Pax so far. It's very easy to use and feels so nice in my hands.

The first few rips on the low (yellow) setting are really tasty. Bump it up to medium (orange) for more visible clouds/thicker vapor. Set it to high (red) if you desire massive clouds.

If you're looking for a portable that's sleek, pre-loadable, discreet, small/fits in your pocket, and is easy to operate/use, the Pax is for you. Sure it's a little high maintenance (when it comes cleaning) and the taste diminishes quickly if you turn up the heat. But it definitely gets the job done and is perfect for herb roasting on-the-go. I'm having lots of fun experimenting with it :)

I bite the end of it while its wrapped in my shirt or a facecloth, I twist it as I pull and it comes out easier, some pieces are a bit more stuck than others, I have had ones that put up no fight at all and come right out with out any effort.

We don't even need the rest of this thread! Great summary

I got my Pax in the mail today. Unfortunately, when I went to pick it up there was a $42 customs fee! I really wasn't expecting that. Pax took care of the shipping and handling so I thought I just had to pick it up. It seems ridiculous that customs can just lump on some fee and I'm expected to pay it, especially when it's that high (where do they come up with $42?). $250 was already more than I should have been spending. Stupid borders.

To make matters worse, Ploom shipped my Pax and mouthpiece lubricant separately, so I'm guessing I'm going to have to pay another crazy fee.

Not to be uncaring, but it's not their responsibility to pay customs the fees they charge you. Ask your customs office how they ended up with the price (probably a tiered system) and get it cleared up?

I never said it's their responsibility to pay for customs (note the part where I said, "stupid borders", not ploom). That was a rant about how I didn't expect a customs fee (I don't order across the border ever), and how you're expected to pay whatever price they come up with.

Wow I totally sympathize! If you don't mind me asking what country is doing this?

It almost seems like some scam some government employee is doing to unsuspecting citizens...

Just a question; many on here have commented on the "taste" at the 3 different temperature settings; I suppose taste may for some be a factor in deciding which setting to use but isn't it more important how the different temperature settings affect the quality of the hit? Personally I don't seem to care how much better the flavour may or may not be. The effects on my cerebral cortex would be the area where my primary focus is.

Canada. I used to order a lot of stuff from Europe and hadn't had anything similar. You'd think they'd want to promote trade between the U.S and Canada by having low custom fees.

If it were made in the US then the Pax would almost certainly be duty-free, but you are getting nailed because it is made in China. The fees are already determined and you can look them up. Of course they don't have a category for vaporizers so all I can tell you is the Hammer (made in Taiwan) came marked as "tools, hand". That's almost certainly because it was shipped to me by Head Tools. The rate was ~13%, which is on the high end. It sounds like you got the same rate.

When I got my Pax I did not get charged anything. Getting charged duty has always been hit-or-miss, but I keep hearing more reports of things being assessed duty, so they might have started clamping down.

You answered your own question. There's no right answer for everybody, there's just a right answer for you, and you already said what it was.

So I have been experiencing the temp light issue after cleaning my Pax. Any suggestions on a fix? Thanks in advance.

Same here... my beloved Pax is randomly throwing up heat colors, cleaned and cleaned but still does it. I've read a couple people have popped their spring, squished and reseated it? How the heck do you do that?

Let me guess, Canadian. Let me guess again, UPS. Was I right?

Never, ever, ever let those money grubbers have your business again. If you absolutely, positively, MUST ship through them, read this blog post about how to circumvent this bull shite brokerage fee and throw the book at UPS on your next order.

Isn't VapeWorld in Canada? Might consider ordering there next time if you want to avoid customs. Do you save money with the conversion to USD buying directly from Ploom in US?

Nope, VapeWorld is based out of Florida. PlanetVape, however, is located in Mississauga.

Didn't realize the spring was right there, but should be easy enough to fish out now that we've seen the pics! :)

Right on the money. I remember getting some sort of charge from UPS a long time ago when I ordered something from the U.S (forgot about it until now) but I never paid it. Maybe this is their way of getting revenge on me. ;)

Today was a good day. I got my Pax and ended a dry spell. I'm really loving it so far. It's super user-friendly, and I was able to get a big cloud off the first hit. I also haven't had any mouthpiece or temp light issues so far. My only complaint would be that it gets a little too hot to hold on the bottom near the oven but that's not a big deal.
