Discontinued ThermoVape Evolution

Onward Thru the Fog
RagingWinds: The ptfe is softer than the delrin, and when I put a UFO in mine, it expanded it enough that it was also a VERY tight fit into the Evo core. As Pipes mentioned, once you manage to get it in, all should be well.

will the LV evolution be damaged by being on a 6 volt device such as the regular t1 with the 510 adapter? I know the 6 volt evo requires 20 volts, is this the same on the LV version? I am considering a LV for my ultralite. anyone know hits ratios by battery life?

Most definitely will distroy it. Will get good and hot and blow in seconds.
I think you met 20 watts for the EVO. An LV has a lower resistance to work with a lower voltage to get the same watts.

As for battery life, this is a debatable question. If comparing the LV to the standard. I only have the SV so can only speculate on what happens.
What we know is the LV takes longer to heat up initially but consensus is that it performs the same there after. The reason for the faster warm up with the same wattage is the actual surface area which heats up is greater with a higher voltage. (more element windings) So in theory although both have the same element temperature the SV has more element and should not cool as fast while drawing over it. IHMO using the SV should be a little easier on the battery current draw wise and may help with longevity of the batteries but the LV is convenient as fits many power handles and a more popular battery.

I actually ran a couple test on this back in the 'why can't I get 50 hits like I was promised' go 'round. Using the best baseline I could come up with to cover the heat up time issue (20 second runs from a common point in the heat cycle?) I decided there was a modest hit advantage to the LV. This is in total number, time to hit is clearly a SV win. Something less than 20%, not enough to call for changing horses, IMO. If you have SV stuff already, got that way. Otherwise, for new buys, LV probably makes the most sense for several small reasons?

very helpful! I will be adding the LV to the cart :) I have the SV so I will try to experiment with the rate of hits and battery life as well. The batteries and devices powering them are completely different so your right it would be difficult to establish an accurate baseline, under the same conditions. I'll see what I can come up with when I receive!

Super. Please keep us advised?

IIRC I went from the time I could see the clear reflected image of the heater in the bowl wall (it transitions pretty fast), then gave a fixed time for the hit and a fixed 'cool down'. The 'heat up time' got longer and longer. IIRC I called an end to it when that time exceeded something like 20 seconds? I wish I could find my notes.....

Have fun, and don't loose your notes.....

There's no Evolution to T1 conversion kit?

Sure there is, even if not listed. I can't make that site work for me again, but give 'em a call or email. Basically the battery stays and stuff above get's replaced. I assume you have a SV T1? If not you'll need batteries and charger. You'll also want to put the delrin sleeve over the battery it gets hot but you've no doubt got that already?

I switch mine back and forth all the time.

Yep, got the SV and I didn't really know I could remove the delrin so it's always on :) Thanks for the info!

I think I found it on the site, it's listed as the revolution to T1 conversion kit but it works with the Evo for sure (T1, Evo and Revo all have the same base from what I can tell).

Got the batteries I ordered off Amazon, loaded a quick bowl, first go around was a massive success. I am sufficiently vaped. Seems like you can get quite the range of hits off of it depending on how you go about it. I am very happy with my purchase.... now if Zeki will send me my extra batteries already that would be nice. I think imma have to call them again, he may have forgot because I never got a new tracking number!

So how is everyone using their evos? Without the heater cover and a mouthpiece? That method has better suction. I did that with my extended mouthpiece. The UFO would work with this?

Also how long do you pre heat then in between hits

I have my mouthpiece directly attached to the core with the shield on just to protect from the heat. I start out with a 45 second preheat for the first hit then move to the 20-25 sec preheat for the next 2 or 3, then finally like a 10-15 second preheat for the last few hits of the bowl. With this setup and method I am able to get consistant clouds for 8-12 hits depending on the amount.

Thought we would pop in for a quick new product update :D.

Been very busy over here at Thermo. Heading down to Richmond tomorrow as we will be at the HT cup.

We have some new products that we wil be showing this weekend. However, we always announce any new products here first.

So here is a preview. These are not on the website yet, bu will be very soon. No later then monday depending on how wild the cup is.... :D

Are Summer Catalog is just about finished (so please excuse any typos) available for download here and the website will be updated soon.

We are very excited about the new products. We will have the DC adapter for the Power Supply available soon as well. This is the high voltage model, although when we find the right power supply it will work with low voltage products as well.

If there is demand we can produce an 18G version of the All Glass Glass Adapter as well. Hope you guys and gals like the new gear!

Let us know what you think. Cheers,

Wow... Now I give you all my money.

You're not paying attention to the example on the other coast, are you? You're supposed to 'invest' your children and grandchildren's future in your immediate pleasures, right.

Hopefully, the Chinese won't run out of (our) money to loan us.....

With TV, of course, your money can take at least one more journey through American wallet on the way out of the country. I like that part, too.

Maybe you guys should just keep my CC # on file and every time you make something new just send me one? Just trying to streamline the process. :D

I noticed mention of the T2 base unit in one of the footnotes in the catalog. Will they also be debuting sometime soon? Beautiful catalog, by the way. I love the informative but simple layout.
