Yes, thanks!![]()
Can you see this?
This was said about chamber:I also wish the chsmber was ceramic or ceramic coated because it’s very hard to remove and replace a screen without scratching the aluminum walls but that’s just a cosmetic nit pick.
Congrats!Received and charging! Nice feel and good grip, definitely happy with the build quality on first impression.
Has anyone ended up trying bubble hash yet? That is looking the most convenient option tonight so it may be the first thing I try.
I haven't figured out how to switch between in demand and session mode yet so I ended up just doing session mode and following the same temp stepping suggestion...Congrats!
I've tried it with rosin on a bed of flower recently. It worked really well so I'd maybe try on-demand, start around 400F and work your way up to 430F+ to finish perhaps.
How do you intend to use bubble hash with the Frolic? Assume you top a bed of herb/wick/concentrate pad with the Hash?Received and charging! Nice feel and good grip, definitely happy with the build quality on first impression.

I wanted to ask what are the chances of getting a case done for the Frolic. Will you be making one? Thank you.Hi guys, seems like there's a lot of interest for using the Frolic with rosin and such.
We have a solid source of convection heat here, more than sufficient for this purpose. I understand the gripe of using rosin and concentrates directly in the oven, but with a stream of hot air it's down to directing this air properly thus transferring a large part of it into conduction heat, etc. This should be doable with a simple accessory, although I don't have a clear vision on how this would work with the device upside down, so it would have to be used upright...
Hope this limitation is alright and if so, we could add this accessory pretty fast.
Yes, an odor proof bag. Although the Frolic is odor proof if carried around with a fully closed airflow, this is more for the extra herb or grinder, etc.I wanted to ask what are the chances of getting a case done for the Frolic. Will you be making one? Thank you.

Take all the time you need to cook.Yes, an odor proof bag. Although the Frolic is odor proof if carried around with a fully closed airflow, this is more for the extra herb or grinder, etc.
Anyway, external accessories will come with round 2, we are currently focusing on the device itself, but shouldn't be long, I just can't keep up with everything atm.
Thanks!
The EVE 50pl is fine to use and will likely have better performance at the lower end of the charge.@Dejan LimelightHerb quick question from another user, as I'm not sure I've seen the answer (my apologies in advance if the answer has been posted) concerning the 21700 batteries : "the EVE 50PL is a newer tabless high discharge (125A continuous) 21700 that seems to outperform the P50b and be much cooler in use".
Battery Mooch posted a free test chart on Patreon that included the 50PL and the P50b"
Is it safe to use these 50PL battery cells ?
Also, with the Frolic's power management, can we use any type of 21700 batteries ? I'm sorry, I'm not really educated in these battery things so i'll ask my question like an electricity newbie : Is there a minimum requirement in A or mAh ? Do we have to specifically match the specs of the initial battery (5000 mAh, 50A ?) ? Are there things about 21700 batteries people like me, battery newbies, should know (i.e. not using x type of cells because of z factors / risks) ?

I’m interested in your method if you find a good one. My concern is it potentially dripping/bubbling into the heater if not done correctly…this is why I prefer top-down heat vaporizers for bubble hash snd traditional hashes. I have no doubt though that the Frolic has the power to vaporize hash effectively!
Where did you find it? Both places I bought my last vape batteries (IMR and Illumn) are out of (or don't carry) Molicel P50B and EVE 50PLI decided to go with the 50pl because it will run cooler and has an 800 cycle life rating vs the P50b's 500 cycle rating.
The 50PL is a tiny bit flatter near the start (would not be noticeable in use) but then loses its voltage faster than the P50B. The P50B’s voltage drop is very smooth and linear. At 100A the P50B runs at a lower voltage but its curve is MUCH flatter.
Mooch also said it was an unconfirmed battery he was testing. DIY500amp also tested it and found it to be better and cooler overall. The drop at the beginning would not be noticeable for our use.I'm not sure if the 50PL would always be better than the 50B. In one of the comments in the shootout page, Mooch says:
Sounds like a good system snd I’ve done similar, I don’t have those capsules but I think my Storz and Bickel with work? I may cut them down a bit if they’re too high. I’ve got steel and titanium versions of the og S&B aluminum capsules, which are the same design but thicker and infinitely reusable unlike the aluminum. The EVE 50pl is fine to use and will likely have better performance at the lower end of the charge.
It shouldn't make a noticeable difference (or any difference really) in overall performance since this is regulated.
You only need a 21700 that is capable of minimum 25A continuous discharge and it should work. The only two I've been considering for extras were the P50b the Frolic was designed around and then the 50pl.

I used my ALVP dosing cap with rayon vape cotton since I still have so much. I want to get degummed hemp fiber but haven't pulled the trigger in a year plus.
I set a base bed and then put the chunks in the center, wrap the rest of the way with the rayon cotton and stab and mash it as much as I can to break it up before tidying up the cotton so the capsule is full.
I have only had the one bowl so far which isn't even done but the capsule is kinda stuck in there. Next time I use it to finish that off we'll see what type of mess there is when I pull it out. There was a decent amount of oil that came out the top of the cap but I dunno if it leaked through the bottom. Usually I have enough cotton so it absorbs the big messes to continue vaping before any mess could make it through.
I had a bowl with rosin and my rosin was fairly liquid to begin with, but everything was fine on a bed of flower in an AVLP capsule bottom. No mess. I agree that top-down heaters like the Convex and TB2 protect the unit better. I suppose you could always vape with the Frolic inverted (gerbil style!) or use the WPA or the soon-to-be-coming direct-to-oven adapter. I'm pretty impressed how good the capsule is at keeping things clean though, even with concentrates.Sounds like a good system snd I’ve done similar, I don’t have those capsules but I think my Storz and Bickel with work? Hope yours didn’t leak out the bottom though…that’s the only thing I’m concerned about, making a mess. Doubtful it’ll hurt the heater but might muck up the taste. This is why I prefer the Convex and Tafè Bowle for hash vaping
Thanks for sharing! Very interesting impressions.Austyn Simrell just did a live stream featuring the Frolic.
For the first 105 minutes he is in session mode and is not really impressed. It really seems like he wanted to love it more but just can't. THEN, he switches to on demand mode and all of sudden, Austyn is a happy camper.
Back in his stream with the Tafee Bowle he said he would want that performance in a "box" form factor and that Tafee would have a real winner if the came up with a device in a more mainstream form factor. In this stream, after playing with on demand mode, he even goes so far as to say the Frolic is essentially that.
Since I am very happy with my Venty for sessions away from the WOHW and ordered a Frolic specifically for on demand mode, it seems I done good :-)

I find the vapor in on demand mode using the Frolic to be similar and maybe slightly cooler/smoother than the TM2 but the Tafè Bowle has about the smoothest /coolest vapor in my opinion if I remember correctly. It’s got a smaller mass heater but I believe it may be more direct than the TinyMight 2 snd Frolic. Both the Frolic and TM2 have very similar style heaters and I think the Frolics added cooling with its longer vapor path edges out the TM2 but I might give the TM2 slightly better flavor than the Frolic, thanks to its direct vapor path with glass. It’s quite subjective though…I Prefer the design of the Frolic over the TM2 but they are both outstanding, quality vaporizers. Thanks for sharing! Very interesting impressions.
Now one thing that he stresses even after he falls in love with the Frolic's on-demand mode is that the vapor is very dry and harsh, with the TB2 being much "smoother".
And that's very surprising because almost everyone else has said that the Frolic's cooling unit does a great job and the vapor is comparable to the TB2...
Has anyone else with a sensitive throat tried the Frolic?
(Edit: mine was supposed to arrive yesterday, but it looks like it'll be tomorrow at the earliest.)
