Two questions

Hey all

Looking to get my better half her first vaporizer. I have mine and she's welcome to them but she wants one for herself.

She's narrowed it down between the venty and the solo 3v2. I personally lean towards the solo as my first vape was the og solo. But I haven't had any experience with the new iteration. Additionally, after reading the venty thread we're a little worried about reliability.

Second question: does anyone have a source for 18mm and 14mm plugs for cleaning glass pieces?

Why's that, if you dont mind me asking?

Soooo many reasons! Lol. But overall feels more user friendly and polished, the herb doesn't get burnt or over roasted, it's nice and even. I just had terrible time with the S3, even using it as a vape bong. Hated it lol.

I have both and like both. It really depends on what she values. The Solo 3 tastes a bit better in my opinion. I find the Venty slightly easier to load and go as the oven is wide and shallow. The Solo is easy to clean as it is only the stem. My first v2 ran too hot and Arizer replaced it. I thought the second one was OK but now I see that it runs too hot too. I am not sure if turning down the temperature by 10C will address it or not. I am going to try that.

If I just want a few quick rips I grab the Venty most of the time. I've had mine since before E04 was widely known and it keeps on keeping on. I've knocked it over, dropped it, and generally not been very careful. I've send two S3s back for repair examination in that time. The downside of the Venty is that cleaning the cooling unit requires a few disassembly and reassembly steps but after the first coupe of times, that is measured in seconds.

I think my Solo 3 ran aggressively too hot as well. Think I actually preferred the Solo 2 lol.

For your second question, when I have needed such plugs in the past (not for glass), Amazon has a good selection of rubber stoppers (which is the key search term). You will need sizes 0# and 1# (or possibly 2#) for the 18mm).

Good choices. I lean Solo as well for the same reasons as you. My first vape was an OG Solo and the new version is really great.

However, aside from the early E04 problems, I get the impression that the bugs have been worked out with the Venty now and many on the forum love it. I think part of the final decision depends on a few things.

Here are some pros and cons of each:

Solo pros
  • Tasty, easy to clean, both session and on-demand
Solo cons
  • Not easily portable for outside the house, fragile stems
Venty pros
  • Easy to operate, portable, tasty
Venty cons
  • More expensive, harder to clean

Thanks for your input.

Based on this..hm. kinda leaning venty as ive never had any experience with S&B and it seems pretty idiot proof. My better half is not an idiot by any means, but she's new to vaping and I think she'd prefer the simplicity

I’ve recommended these a few times in the past. I’ve since bought 2 more bags, and you can find bags with just one size too. I plug all my glass rigs, but they come in handy for many uses!
