Thanks for the replies. I was planning to get dosing caps because I heard it simplifies cleaning. I’m passing on the loading tool. I don’t think pucks are a good idea for me because I like a loose pack. I also figured I can 3d print something.
I would definitely get the caps over the loading tool since they're very easy to load over a grinder with no tool. I don't own the tool but I see it only being useful when not using capsules. I suppose if you need to re-fill capsules on-the-go without a grinder, or you just don't like the capsules then the tool has value.

About loose pack vs. tight pack... I've noticed that in session mode (which I use almost 100% of the time) a tight pack can help extend the flavor of your session, and even though the airflow might suffer a bit, the ABV still comes out very nice and even. I guess it's a personal decision in the tradeoff between longer sessions with flavor vs. airflow.

I believe Lee from TableTopBong even has a few videos on this where he uses a 3rd party packing tool to make very dense pucks.

Thats a great choice, I also consider the loading tool to be kind of crap because of how dense your chamber will be packed. In my experience the AVLP deals with a densely loaded chamber better than many other convection vapes, but packing it a bit looser gives you a better experience. I also use a 3d printed funnel and think it's works much better (and costs pennies to print)

Yeah, it seems to me like he is having some kind of mental health crisis

almost every day, I have 3, all still work, but mostly used on the go or bedside, swap a cap in seconds even hot. no loose herb.
use the tool to load caps always consistent, and if it's not too dry you don't have to pack it hard
my original steampunk saw a lot of hard daily use the 1st year before it had siblings.
reliability; sold the TM2 warranty replacement after it quit getting hot, was expecting button issue, nope, bought another avlp + dynas with the same money from the replacement. didn't really miss the battery hog when it was in for repair. and avlp is way more pocket friendly.

It is very fitting that Dr. G, who is such an AVLP enthusiast, reports this news first (at least that I’ve seen)!
