I haven’t noticed that, but I keep my pivot in a hard 3d printed case in a fanny pack, so well protected from the elements.
Could be that the battery warmed up a little because of the weather. I had a high temp error one time when I tried to use my pivot right after charging for a bit. The battery was a little warm and I got the error midway through the session.
It’s great! But I would argue it’s not underrated, it‘s extremely popular. I bet there’s a chance it goes on to become the biggest selling concentrate device ever.
Taking glass tops out and about would make me nervous. Wood and concentrate vapor doesn't sound ideal to me. But I wonder if a ceramic topper with a carb hole for a little "convection cooling" would work
As lovely as wood is for cooling, I'd hope that the wood top is lined. Even with a lined wood stem, that will limit your cleaning options. I'm more of a drop it in iso kind of guy. Especially with concentrates.Yeah I'm back on the Pivot train as well. The Proxy is shelved for now. When you get dialed in, the Proxy's vapor is like 5% more comfortable, but the Pivot is significantly more convenient

Not glass lined, but its likely steel lined, the wooden top for the peak I have from WoodyVapors is steel lined. Will def add a woody taste regardless of lining or type of wood, i dont find it much more bothersome on concentrate than on flower but that wood flavor was never something i was chasing anyways. Hard to beat the wood for just throwing in a bag without worrying about breaking glass.Good point. The other thing that makes me wary of third party tops is, Puffco did a ton of testing on the air flow and vapor flow. that's hard for individual glass makers to do. On the Peak, it might not matter. But on a short vapor path like the Pivot, that type of thing becomes more important.
I don't think that vendor makes glass lined options, but I might be wrong. I also don't mind a "woody" taste if it's herb. I don't think it mixes well with the cleaner taste of 'trates

Do yours require cutting the mouthpiece?I've made a bunch of glass wet and dry tops and tips for the pivot. They insert into the silicone lip and sit above the ceramic chamber, effectively eliminating silicone from the vapor path
I don't have some of these, but some are left.

This case works really well with the Pivot (fits basically like a glove), as shown in the image below. And shout out to the person on Amazon who specifically mentioned it fitting the Pivot in their review (and also even provided a picture), as this helped narrow my search to this one!
I'm really enjoying the Pivot too. Coming from relying on either the Cricket, RiO or Divine Tribe V5 for my dabs, the Pivot has been winning the reach test again and again. I usually run mine natively at the secret low temp mode (5 Click after starting in the blue setting), with a 3mm ruby.
This top (Meademade Buzzer Top) stays comfortable - at least at the low temp I run it with. It's pretty thick glass, and also seems like it forces the vapor to hit the top before it travels out the mouthpiece, which may help.How hot does that glass top get
I agree with you though. The Pivot is so easy and is (to me) 99% as good of a hit as more cumbersome devices. I got a second one on sale at a smoke shop, mostly to have a backup battery.
As a cart/pod apologist...I haven't bought one since Christmas.
