@Shit Snacks The thing that appeals to me the most about the FC-Mod is the modularity. I only have experience with rigs that have fixed down stems that are not removeable and they have always been a pain to clean. I think what I like/want most in a dry rig is open airflow, so I am glad
@TedJones mentioned different downstems.
Okay cool, yeah there are a lot of modular options for dry rig, but most of them would not feature removable downstem like this, that never felt so desirable to me personally, especially dry, but I always use dropdown adapters
I saw the 9 hole diffusion downstem seems to be the general recommendation, which is what prompted me to ask about dry vs water with the FC-Mod.
Yeah I bet there are definitely people using it dry, most people have that diffusion downstem because that's how it is designed to be, I had them make that modeled on the original goo version, then other people wanted alternative perk downstem options so they added those, personally I actually like a little air flow restriction in a dry rig, if it's too wide open with too much volume I find it unenjoyable...
I also have 14MM and 18MM ball vapes so a rig that is standard 18MM would be nice so I can run different MM dropdowns for my vapes.
Yeah exactly, drop down adapters will keep everything cleaner, to the side lower out of your face, and make it so easy to switch sizes using any piece with any attachment etc... Furthermore those right angle bends of an s-shaped dropdown, actually do more for cooling than most of the rest of the rig, right angle turns are the best for that in my experience (that is why my favorite dry rig incorporates right angle turns and swiss holes for the most dry path obstruction instead of empty open volume)
