This $15 RO is making it a lot easier for me to whip out the EQ2, as it uses so much more flower than I'm used to.
Really nice having something inexpensive to just load up those huge bowls for long sessions and still be quality enough to get some great flavor.

Went back to trulieve today to snag some more flower.

I ordered ahead, and "checked in online", which I've never done either. Order was ready in about 30 mins, and I didn't even need to show an ID when I walked in. Just had my flower within 60 seconds and out the door.

Tried Modern Flower's Minis. Got Miami Queso for $15, with leading terps of alpha-bisabolol and beta-myrcene which is a bit unique.
Snagged some R.O. Gasoline Dream for $20 with leading terps trans-nerolidol and Limonene, also pretty unique.

The buds on both are very small, which was expected for the MF Minis but a bit disappointing on the R.O.

Both smell good tho, leaning a bit on a creamy sweet smell, with the gasoline dream having a spicier edge to it.

All around, for $35 for a quarter, still pleased.

Saw R.O. had a $25 eighth :(, but was for 30% thc flower.
I wouldn't mind if under 20% stayed at $15, and over 30% hit $25. Seems reasonable if it adjusts on both ends, which it appears we've been seeing.

I get RO all the time when the THC percent is over 25% and terps are at least 2%. More often than not they're minis but smell pretty good and have some sticky to them.

Had a great RiSE experience today.
Some things I learned.

The premium Rhythm brand, and their new RiSE brand, are both hand trimmed, and always tries to pick the biggest and best buds.
The next on the list is Good Green, which is apparently the same quality, but is machine trimmed.
The Shine flower is popcorn.

Typically, Rhythm is 2 for $59
RiSE 2 for $50
Good Green 2 for $39
Shine 2 for $39.

For the $39, might as well just go Good Green.

I got Jack Herer and Sherbert Cream Pie for $39.
The Jack Herer was actually just $16 on its own.

The jack Herer looks amazing, and smells very clean with that perfect classic limey-citrus jack herer smell.
The terps were something in the 4%.

The sherb looks equally as good, bigger nugs, soft and dark. Gives that Slurricane look from MUV like it's wrapped in tight yellow cobwebs.

Good Green buds always have a bit of a darker look to them, not sure why.

Also grabbed a concentrate, I think purple punch live resin, for $22. Smells good and sweet.

Overall, a great deal for some quality product.

I got Jack Herer and Sherbert Cream Pie for $39.
The Jack Herer is great, definitely a recommend, especially at $16/eighth on its own. Terpy, looks good, good flavor.

The Sherbert is having the same issue I forgot about last time I got Good Green, which is once the initial terps are gone after the first hit, the taste is really rough. Not a popcorn taste or a burnt taste, more like a dirty soil taste. Hard to get past it.
I've noticed this in a few of their Rhythm strains as well, but usually on the ones that are permanently discounted at $20 or so. Their tried and true strains should be safe from this in my experience.

Also grabbed a concentrate, I think purple punch live resin, for $22. Smells good and sweet.
This is average as well, but I didn't expect a ton for a $22 live resin.
Still solid for the price, dabs well, I'm sure most would be happy with it.

These thinner concentrates like Resins tend to be worse for me on cold starts, so I should try a hot start and it may fix the issue. This is how trulieve resin behaves for me as well. I think the trick is to melt them quickly to not give it any chance to overcook during the heating process.

It finally happened! On 710, Jungle Boys opened 5 minutes down the street from me.
Went over for a visit, they had a food truck there too lol.

40% off concentrates, 30% off flower.

Their Cold Cure is essentially Rosin Badder.
Their "Badder/Budder" is actually Live Resin, so don't be mistaken if you want Rosin.

They also have Piatella, which if I understand correctly, is similar to Cold Cure, but it is cold cured in a vacuum. I don't think you could go wrong with either. The staff told me Piatella is NOT cured and is Live extracted, but I am pretty sure they were mistaken.

They do Fresh Press too, but in my experience, that's just a really sticky shatter that strings and ribbons, which I'm not a fan of.

I got Zours Cold Cure, looks as high of quality as Sunburn's. Usually $70, but was $42 with the discount.
Smells like sour candy, excited to dive in.

I got G-Rise flower as well, as he handed me a container of it to smell, and it was pure peppery gas so figured I'd give it a try. See if they do gassy strains better than what I would experience at Sunburn.

I also got their old classic Zack's Pie flower, as he shoved a container of that in my face as well.
That is more of a creamy/cakey type smell, not as pungent. Hopefully it comes through well.

Both look great.

They were really just trying to shove containers of flower in my nose, it was quite nice :brow:

Usually $45/e, discounted to $31.50. Still quite pricey.
$105 for the full order I believe, more than what I'd prefer to spend usually.

I think $42 is a solid price for cold cure if it can be discounted there often, but $31 for flower will be a reach.
They do smalls (pops) $50/quarter

I have been greatly enjoying all of these, and I think it's worth the cost that I paid.
The cold cure could be a bit stronger on the flavor, but it is a nice clean taste.

The G-Rise I only got because it was the most popular pick and I was skeptical, but it is a very very good pungent strain.
Instead of hitting that almost nauseating gas smell, the flavor leans more towards a sweeter chocolate, very nice.
Definitely one of the better gassy/peppery/pungent ones I've gotten.

The Zack's Pie is also all around great.

They're all strong too.

Excited to go back and try something new.
Lot of their eighths have gone back up to $45, but some are holding a discount around $25-$35.

Went tp MUV over the weekend because I saw they had a single indica and a single hybrid badder for $20/gram and some others at $27.50...they somehow forgot that I've been there before, in fact many times, but not in over a year. Budtender ended up creating a new account, applied a huge discount, and I walked out of there with 16 grams of badder for $258 which roughly calculates to a little over $16/gram!

This month at MUV they're doing the 2 for $35 Savvy smalls, picked up some Pink Certz and B-52 Bomber to try. The former is seriously a contender for one of my favorite strains, the flavor is nuts and the body high is surprising for something limonene dominant.

  • LOOK: Even with getting this in the form of smalls, I was astounded at the color variation and the beauty of how genuinely pink some of these buds seemed in flecks. The single purple bud in the mix makes me so curious as to what the plant looked like overall. Just a terrific thing to open up and see. 4.5/5
  • SMELL: One of the most nuanced smells that you’ll understand more as you taste it (which is itself the highlight of the strain next to its outstandingly pronounced effects; more on both of that down below). It almost smells peppery like a humulene strain but it’s the big three in modulation. 4.5/5
  • GRIND: Now that I smash and break apart buds with my hands for the vaporizer, I judge this section just a bit differently. The trichomes are so ready to turn to oil that the ability to pick it apart into a sweeter, fine pile is very easy, with some of the smallest stems that are easy to separate. 4/5
  • DENSITY: This is also now rated based on whether or not you can enjoy smaller vape packs of this (0.1-0.15), or if you need headier packs (0.2-0.3). In this amazing strain’s case, a single 0.1g puts me into a limonene euphoria. This is one of the most ideal densities there could be. 4.5/5
  • VAPOR QUANTITY: I do notice that different strains tend to vape at different speeds, just like how bowls burned differently. Maybe the only downside to this strain is that it feels over too quickly, which is just something that happens sometimes! 3/5
  • VAPOR QUALITY: The genetics of this strain show that one of its parents is The Menthol; you can instantly gain that soothing feeling from this, making it the perfect debut strain for a dry-herb vaporizer. Though this can feel like it is over quickly, you don’t veer into any acridity. 4.25/5
  • TASTE: Even when you lose the early fruity floral notes and start to get that underlying baked mint, this thing tastes magnificent. Those first two hits, especially at a lower temp, will blow your mind and make you wish you had a bubblegum that tasted just like this. Real-life fruit-flavored mints almost never taste this good. 5/5
  • HIGH: The very first high got me fucked up and paranoid, likely because of farnesene just as HEIR HEADS had delivered on its first runaround. This was a great sign; I had a lot of motivation after taking a shower, and from there I ended up realizing how terrific this strain is for bedtime weirdly. Limonene as a dominant can almost ring your bell like a sativa. This shows itself off as high-end, and once again exalts MUV as the best place in town to try new strains. 4.5/5

Limonene (0.56%), Caryophyllene (0.38%), Myrcene (0.34%), Farnesene (0.27%)

if anyone wants any reviews posted for any of the other strains I have (especially if you're in the Tampa area where these batches were observed and rated), I'm more than down to write 'em up here, I just don't want to hijack the thread esp. as a new user. Right now I'm still swimming in first-time visit discounts so my abundance is quite nice.

from MUV: Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Pink Certz (reviewed above), B-52 Bomber
from AYR: N.Y. Sour Diesel, Butter Fingaz, Blue Mimosa
from Surterra: Pine Zap
from Cookies: Apples & Bananas, Cereal a la Mode
from Trulieve: Baby Turtle, Permanent Marker

honestly my top five favorites in this lineup are PUDC, PC, A&B, BT & PM but even the six under-dog strains are carrying quite nicely. Nothing in my box that seems like I'll have to dispose of.

@DMTVJG I'm just across the bridge from you :)

Do you have a favorite dispensary so far?

You mentioned first time visits, are you still relatively new to the medical scene in florida, or did you just recently renew so you're getting the discounts again?

hey thanks I appreciate the encouragement :) I think I have a good scoring for the next one (B-52 Bomber) but just to be safe I think I'm gonna let my session with it in tomorrow's Lobo arrival to determine my final scores

and hey! now when you say the bridge, are you in Bradenton area across the Sunshine Skyway? Or do you mean the even closer bridge that crosses the Cotee between Port and New Port Richey? All of my purchases (with the exception being Cookies, which is north in Brooksville) have been at the PR/NPR locations.

This was my first time getting the card and I'm still learning about the medical scene. I was resorting mostly to THCA hemp the last couple of years but the availability and Department of Agriculture "raids" on local smoke shops pushed me to finally give full-spectrum cannabis its time. I'm happier when I find the stuff that works! So far of the six dispensaries I've tried, my ranking (based entirely on flower) would go: MUV > Trulieve > Cookies > Ayr > Planet 13 > Surterra, based on:

1. MUV: most consistent, high terps, high effects, I liked almost every strain I had (their E85 didn't do much for me but I loved Heir Heads, Wino #9, Pineapple Upside Down Cake, and aforementioned Pink Certa) and the vibe in there is probably the most friendly and professional. Easy to talk to and easy to ask them questions about terps. A lot of people question the farnesene count but I don't notice any adverse effect outside of occasional paranoia when I try a new strain (each strain that has done this has turned into one of my favorites)

2. Trulieve: this isn't fair because I should mention I've only tried Khalifa Kush and Connected brands, so being that I started on their topshelf, I don't have a general grasp of what their other bud is like, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much badmouthing I see locally about Trulieve. The locations in Pasco have been really friendly and again I found a lot of knowledgeable employees that wanted to talk (one of the Google reviews of my local spot says they try to rush you out the door but they didn't do that at all to me)

3. Cookies: the novelty of being able to smell the bud in the store and see samples, this alone makes it a really fun place, plus they had one of the most potent (and highest terpene) purchases I've had yet: the over 4% Apples and Bananas. I would say though that I was surprised at how many lower terp strains they have (they have a 0.66% terp strain... like wtf?), so I don't know how much I'm going to want to make the drive up into Hernando County for them alone unless they have some fire drop I want. Still a lot of fun.

4. AYR: alright so, I've had eight strains from this place but I decided I'm not going to go back, because the last strain I bought was short by half a gram of bud, and had a ton of trim and shake to try and weigh it down. I suspected (before buying my replacement scale) that they were underweighing and sadly it's confirmed. They sell a lot of dried out bud but they sell a lot of good bud too, and the hit-or-miss is starting to bug me. They also have a lot of politically charged stuff in the dispensary, making it the only place I've seen that does this. Feels not worth it?

5. Planet 13: I bought two strains and unfortunately couldn't finish either of them, because one was the oldest they had (and they weren't posting COAs publicly yet when I bought that, but now they are) and it was too dry, whereas the other one I bought smelled nice but was some of the harshest hits I've ever had. Someone told me that it's the outdoor grow that I'm likely detecting, I still like the idea of going here since they're friendly but the quality was admittedly rough.

6: Surterra: I didn't enjoy going in here at all, there was a single employee (and no customers) in there who was not very friendly, my questions about terp profiles seemed to bother him in a way that I didn't feel like I was intruding at the other dispos. I went on his recommendation and I think he just sold me the oldest stuff they were trying to get rid of. Also the jankiness that the entire dispensary's weed was kept in a single giant filing cabinet behind the desk. It felt like I was buying black market but in a storefront, and then the bud... man once again I didn't finish one of them, whereas the ones I did finish were just very mid. I still think I want to try some of their brand new strain drops but I'm very leery.

on the agenda to try next:

Insa (closest one to me I haven't tried)
Fluent (bumped it to the top of the list because of that one review last page)
Rise (nothing but high accolades I'm seeing online

on the agenda to go into Hernando County to try:

Curaleaf
Green Dragon
One Plant

on the agenda to go into Pinellas County to try:

Jungle Boys
The Flowery
Goldflower

on the agenda to go into east Pasco County to try:

Sunnyside
Sanctuary

not currently on the agenda because I don't feel like going to Hillsborough County to try (but I would if they open closer locations):

GrowHealthy
Sunburn
Cannabist

correct me if I'm wrong but I think that is the full list? at least it was the list of 20 dispensaries that I received from the MMJ doctor. I'm looking forward to when those new licensees start opening up, and would like to try all of my options before they begin expanding the competition.

@DMTVJG I'm right in St Pete :)

Here's my thoughts on the ones you mentioned

1. When I was using MUV, I always had pretty good success with them. I just haven't used them in a while.
They had some good purple strains, I remember some Cherry strains being good, and one of the best strains I've seen was their Slurricane.

2. I've never tried their top tier, but if you scroll up you'll see me consistently advocating for their "Roll One" brand. $20 eighths, non discounted, all year around. Sometimes they are $15, and I've briefly seen $25 for something over 30% thc.
They always smell good, nice soft buds, and solid terps. Just a good consistent, cheap staple that you can walk in and grab and be pretty satisfied.

3. Never tried, cookies, heard mixed things, but I love that it's a good shopping experience. That's half the battle sometimes.

4. This used to be my go-to budget dispensary, but since so many dispensaries have come down in price, and with Trulieve's R.O. being so good for the price, I haven't been there much. I'll still stop in for disposables or edibles. My uncle loves them though, they treat him really well and get him whatever he describes he needs.

5. I've wanted to try this, but don't think there's one close enough to justify. I checked out out in Vegas before though.

6. This was my first ever dispensary when there were essentially only 3 options.
Never a wait, compared to Trulieves 2 hour wait.
Had high potency distillate and disposables.
But they just never kept up with the FL market. They give a very science-y, medical feel.

Tried Insa once, was a solid experience, haven't had a reason to drive back out there though.
Jungle Boys recently opened down the street from me, good so far.

RiSE has been one of my favorites. Good sticky big buds when you know what to get.

I know some in here like Fluent, but I've never been.

Curaleaf, SunnySide, One Plant, are basically all lower budget.
SunnySide used to be One Plant back when they were good.
One Plant took over House of Platinum which took over HighTimes. It's still the same strains, so I don't think anything's changed. Their 1g disposables are good and cheap tho.

GoldFlower is a recent top choice for me, really enjoy them. Some of the most helpful staff. Great flower, great concentrates.
Sunburn is also really good, great 90u rosin, and helpful staff.

Growhealthy is a great mix of decent budget and good quality.

Love we have so many options now.

If you haven't realized it yet, you can avoid paying full price every time you go to a dispensary if you just keep a lookout for deals (which are pretty much every day).

I'm trying to figure out when the deals are the ones you want versus the ones that are trying to clear out old product! I almost fell for an $18 Glitter Bomb Verano Reserve, marked down from $60. Turns out it has been sitting there since February or March according to the COA posted. I am definitely going to be keeping an eye out on the Roll One line the next time I'm in Trulieve.

Anything in Rise that I should scoop up if I see it? A lot of the pictures I've seen are really impressive!
