I decided to order one yesterday. The lack of detailed information makes me a little skittish after the yllvape disaster. However, it isn’t a Chinese company and they have a long track record.

Can’t believe yllvape is so messed up and folks are still shilling for them.
I mean the Legacy Pro was a fantastic device that didn’t give anyone health concerns. Biggest issue was the cleaning aspect which seems to be addressed in the newer model. I’d assume this device is the exact same thing as the older model, while being easier to clean and having even more of an isolated air path.

Did the older model have haptic feedback? Big fan of haptic feedback for true portables to let me know when it’s ready to hit without having to look at the screen

Yea I was hoping to get away from the door hinge cuz mine warped a bit as well
All of my Alp's have a hinge issue. Big time. My first two are done...cannot be fixed. My Steampunk did not have hinge issues...all my black ones did. When that happened the vape did not work properly. I use to love the Firefly lid with the magnets. Solved all problems but, the gasket inside would not last long. I am hoping that little by little all little problems get fixed and they have been. I love the ALP vape...it remains one of my favorite.

2 + years no hinge issue 2 avlps but i never went pass 180 degree open, i never let the door dangle. i believe that could be a warranty issue

Yes, they sure have been getting addressed! Here's to hoping the upgrade is satisfactory in the fixes they implemented! Can't wait for a closer look into the upgraded model!

Gary asked me to just take care of it and return, etc. I never did...too lazy. I will keep an eye out on the new upcoming model...looking forward to it.

I've had 2 ALPs since day 1 and one replacement because of a screen issue (screen bacially died). but I've never hap are warps lid. But I notice that I put a lof of pressure on the lid if a tightly pack the bowl, especially if I unscrew the microdose plate a little. Are you guys sure you're just not packing it too tightly?

Afaik that was not changed at all
I was mainly talking about all the stated changes made to the upgraded one. I understand the door hinge problems still might persist, but if you register your device you have limited lifetime warranty. If you have other DHVs you can use them while the device is being replaced/fixed. That was one of the main reasons for getting two AVLPs as my only DHV devices.

I don't know if the mechanism is the same on the steam punk edition, but I currently don't have problems with the door. I've just been babying that one a lot more than the first unit I received.

I believe the latch mechanism on the steampunk was upgrade somewhat to work smoother where the black ones where stiffer latch that tended to wear fast, not sure if the hinge was update also but the alp2 will retain all upgrades.

My hinge is still fine but I've always had it in a case and was lucky enough to have never dropped it. I hope they did redesign the hinge to make it more robust. A lot of people have mentioned it.

Maybe the steampunk edition did improve things according to some users here.

i saw someone post a fix as a 3d printer download somewhere. 2 replacement or add on pins, i'm not sure.

My units with hinge issues: The lid moves on its hinge and wiggles pretty much. It is NOT firm like the Steam punk version. I had mention this to Gary before...

It is not because of a user error...the error is the hinge.
