Could anyone dissuade me from buying it?

I already have the Tafee Bowl V1, and it's a beast. But it's getting a few years old, and the battery is getting shorter. But it still lasts me 3 bowls before recharging. I basically recharge it after taking one puff most of the time.

Damn VAS, I really don't want to buy the new one even though I still have the V1.

Resell the old one at a discount and use that money to buy the V2 if you really want it that bad lol

I am so impressed by this tool. Half a bowl, start on #1, enjoy all the terps but no real clouds in maybe three hits over 20 minutes. Increase to #2, same spacing but noticeable vapor. I'm feeling mellow. Drink some soda. Play with the cat. Feel good. Increase to #3, same spacing. Big clouds but no popcorn taste. High af. Half a fricken bowl! This thing rocks as a micro-doser.

Does anyone have recommendations for a small case or pouch?

With the summer coming up, I can totally see myself taking the Bowle to the park or a lake. And I would like some protection for it, so I can throw it in a bag without worrying about it

While I usually prefer hybrid Vapes I am growing tired of my 8+ year old Mighty (mostly because of the bickle tickle). I need a Vape with smooth Vapor, nice taste, low maintenance and strong hits. So it is pretty much down to Bowle or Solo3 now...

I definitely think that I could learn to use the Solo 3 and enjoy it. I suspect that, because it employs about 20% conduction it can produce a bit thicker vapor and closer to charred herb (maybe even combusted).

This is not to say the Bowle can't create clouds, but it's almost all convection.

Another option: People have talked about sending their V1 Bowles to Tafee for battery replacements at reasonable cost. You could send them an email and ask. At minimum, it would make your back-up vape more useful.


For the V2, I had a couple questions about the ceramic bowls and keeping them clean.

Generally a good puff from behind the screen when the bowl is still warm gets most of the abv out. However, after a few loads, crumbs start to form around the edges of the screen where the brush doesn't easily reach. In fact, I find the included brush to be too soft to really knock the bits off the screen. I started using a much thicker bristled brush, which might have come from an OG Firefly or maybe the Fury 2.

Guess I have 2 questions. Any tips for brushing them out?
Also, if you take the screens out to clean them, how do you reset them back in the bowl? I guess my eyes are getting older, I don't see a ridge at the bottom of the ceramic bowl for the screen to snap back into.

Yes, true but honestly maybe the whole convection vs. conduction difference is a bit overblown anyway. Shouldn't strain and temperature be a much bigger factor? While the TB is pure convection the powerful heater on highest setting still might be able to produce a nice body stone? But I guess this gets too off-topic. Oh and sadly the Firewoods don't get delivered to my country .

Despite sounding a bit negative in my previous post, I also like many things about the TB. And as I would mostly use it at home the form factor doesn't really matter for me. I really like that you don't need water or any accessories and apparently still get very smooth and tasty vapor. Combined with the instant on-demand heating and the ceramic dosing capsules it really sounds like a very nice Vape. My biggest issue with the TB is pretty much the price tag compared to other devices. I keep looking for alternatives but right now I think the TB might actually be worth it.

That's all personal opinion maybe, but I totally disagree, I don't think it's as simple as body stone as some people like to say, I just think they're different... Largely because they work different, session style... Hybrid conduction whatever it's just different from pure convection on demand

I blow them out while warm and then use a small paintbrush to get the little bits out of the corners. You could also place them on a paper towel, remove the gaskets and give them a quick iso spray and then rinse. Generally they stay pretty clean for a while.

Also, if you take the screens out to clean them, how do you reset them back in the bowl? I guess my eyes are getting older, I don't see a ridge at the bottom of the ceramic bowl for the screen to snap back into.

So I've done an iso wash of all my bowls (gaskets removed) in a ziploc without removing the screens and it seemed to get all the little areas clean. I had a few screens pop out and I couldn't see any ridge in the ceramic bowls for the screens but there must be a small one there because pushing the screens back in with a golf tee (flat end) was easy to do.

The Bowle2 has proven to be super-versatile for me and produces an excellent high. It's a steep price but worth it imo. I also think that using the higher levels (4 and 5) can give you a very stony high due to the dark roast and full extraction. Level 5 can even handle some crumbly hash/kief sprinkled on top although I wouldn't say concentrates are the Bowle's forte.

Pots for Series 1 and 2 are the same. Except when I use the 2, I use the thicker o-rings, though either will work.

I always empty when warm, even if that means re-heating a spent pot. I just tap it flat down a few times on a counter, tabletop, ashtray, whatever.

A long while back I stopped taking o-rings and screens off; now I drop the whole pots in 99% iso for anywhere from 20 minutes to a couple of hours, give a little jiggle occasionally, then in a bath in cold water with a drop of Dawn, before a good a rinse. I usually clean 10 or 12 at a time.
(If there are a lot of crumbs, I bathe the pots in hot water first, before the iso bath)

Yes there is a tiny lip at the bottom of the pot. The screens are formed to slightly covex, so there is a bit of spring tension holding the screen in place.

Had my first test. Started at lvl 3, got great taste, but little/no vapor. On lvl 4 I get perfect vapor, and now I'm feeling nice and high

Awesome device! Love the little cups, but think Ill use just my normal grinder, and scoop from there. Makes dosing a lot easier I think (but what do I know, first time I'm using this device ;-))

I use my grinder, then dump the ground weed into the metal potter to fill the pots. My Aroma-3 grinds much better in my opinion than the metal potter grinds. This way I have the grind I like, plus the ease of filling the pots.

I have that Altoids tin thing. It is amazing for traveling with pots. Nothing has ever spilled out of a pot in transit in that thing. One of my favorite Bowle accessories for sure.

I don't store my ground material in the Aroma-3 as it is definitely not air-tight, so the weed dries up super quick here in Texas. I grind in the Aroma-3, transfer to my Reload 2 for storage, then dump from the Reload into the metal potter to fill the pots.

Thanks for the advice. When I see the battery starting to get worse, I'll try to talk to them and see what they say.

As for cleaning the pots, I usually remove the screens and place them in a container with isopropyl alcohol, shake them until they're clean, and rinse them. As for the grid, I just drop the original ones in, but they don't usually stay put. Someone mentioned buying a cheap pack of hundreds and replacing them directly. The measurements don't have to be the same; I have 15mm concave screens installed.

I'd like to take this opportunity to ask if you know where I can get the short stem in Europe. I've only seen them on their own website. I'm in Spain, and it would cost me more than €150, including shipping and taxes. I also saw them on Vapefiend, and they don't ship here. At the moment, that's what's holding me back from buying it, as I'd like to have that stem for when I go out. I don't understand why they're not selling it when they sell the tafee on EU websites.
