I don't use mine every day but I've never needed to replace the core. I'm not how or why it breaks, but it's been fine with normal use since I got mine in the initial "beta" group. It is an exceptional piece of gear, and I'd consider it worthwhile even if I had to replace the core here or there. The sale price is pretty sweet, too.
I’m in the same boat as you. My guess is it gets damaged through some kind of impact. I have seen accounts of it still working after chipping it, though. As to why it has a replaceable part, maybe the need for a non conductive handle for what is essentially a corded head necessitated it being a replaceable part. But then again I haven’t had that problem with mine. I use it fairly frequently but not daily.

Their injector has somewhat of a sharp edge around the recessed dimple that the core is placed on. I shaved a thin layer off one side of the top of the core trying to seat it in there. Yep, still works fine and really don’t need a new one imo.

My new favourite heating technique is to use it like I use the terpcicle. Heat the letters for 10-15 seconds with a small torch. Then hit the oven for 5 seconds and take long draws. Reheat for 5-10 seconds to keep the chamber warm. If you get to the click you heated it too much.

So essentially they are just a bit fragile, probably due to the brittle nature of the metal? So accidents more likely, hence sensible to have spares?

Has anyone here considered using a Scalpel sterilizer induction heater for The Tornado? I was considering being the guinea pig. 😆
Ha! I'll bet it'll work just fine as long as the batteries provide enough wattage. What kind of battery does it use?

Along the same lines, I realized I could approximate the functionality of a dab knife by scooping up my concentrates with a little metal scoop tool and placing it in the Wand to heat the tip. I had to improvise because I think used too much perpendicular force on the tip of my CrossingTech dab knife and now the tip doesn't heat up anymore. 😕

As early April is now on its last legs and gasping for breath at the finish line, and I've yet to hear a dickie bird, I wonder if anyone else here has had notice of shipping from the mid Feb-ish stock?
I appreciate that things don't always go to plan, no big deal, if only some info could come from Vestratto to set customer expectation. I'm only trying to be positively critical, it's something that can take only a small effort and cost, and yet makes such a big difference in how the company and it's products and service are perceived.
So, with my childish whiney moan out of the way (🙄😉), and in the hope of hearing good news, has anyone else had notice of delivery yet? 🤔

In fact you can buy a bare bones IH off the 'net for surprisingly small cost (just a circuit board and a coil plus a suitable mains power supply), and can then select the wattage according to needs. I've heard of people using these without even much in the way of a case, just holding the vape cap in the coil by hand (but boxing it up isn't rocket science either).
From what I could make out, if you can use a soldering iron then there's not too much to building an IH with way more power than a Wand for example, while keeping the costs within $100 at most if desired. Certainly lots of docs & details on the 'net to help with doing this.

Won't be getting all the fancy controller electronics ofc, just on or off, although I'll bet it wouldn't be that hard to connect it to a cheap raspberry pi or similar to allow your own custom control through a bit of scripting (for the hobbyists here, at least) if the idea was a fun project as well as a cheap IH - e.g. how about an option to record a heating session when it's been perfected, so it can be played back to get an exact repeat of that session? 🤔🤓
I just find it hard to justify spending more (on my budget) on a suitable IH than my vapes cost when it's not the only option; and where IH's are often designed to be best for specific vapes, this makes the cost even less attractive.
Obviously with those for whom the cost is negligible I can fully understand getting something like the Forge, for example.

Didn't they send a bunch to Sneaky Pete as well? I guess that was the batch customers paid for.

Mine landed last week, Feb pre-order. Yours must surely be soon .

I don't honestly (or even dishonestly!) know but that sounds familiar, when I said about things not going to plan I was just generalising though, nothing specific.
I'm not even especially upset about it being a little late apart from being excited and keen to try this new 'flavour' of vape out; it's more the anxiety of not knowing and tending to imagine the worse!
(e.g. "OMG, they've removed the shop entry for 'nado, and mine ain't come yet, something terrible has happened and it's going to be months and months and months and ..." - I think you get the idea? 🤣). My paranoia monkey is getting restless! 😢

Wayhey! Good stuff, you must be well chuffed! Did they message you when it was sent off? And do you mind saying what your order number was? (no biggie if you'd rather not).

Pheeew I forgot just how big the Tornado's bowl is... It's good to be back. My non-XL stem arrived today and I just tried a mostly full loose pack bowl. It didn't come with a spiral, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to. I guess now that I think about it, it's held in place by the condenser in the Anvil? I don't use it and I forget. The mostly full bowl was pretty hot even for me, but I managed to get the bulk of it in one hit. I did about a half bowl earlier and it was fine. Maybe I went a little too hot on the full bowl. Probably would have been a good idea to go with the XL but that's alright. I can just still drop it into glass for the big bowls if I want.

Gentle reminder: please use the Vestratto shipping thread as needed to help keep this thread focused on the device itself.

Finally back in business with my tornado 😎

The screen was so gunked up, it was just a big black puck. I honestly struggled getting the screen to stay in for a few sessions after finally cleaning it.

I wish I could set the screen and then somehow magnetize it in place. I also wish fiddly things like o-rings and screens weren’t such a necessity with vapes, but maybe that’s off topic haha

I was told by Vestratto that Anvil and DV screens work in the Tornado

I struck gold. I managed to get a Tornado off of ent_exchange. Should get to me in a week.

I'm currently building an induction for the tornado, but for a short while I'll have to use my torch till it's fully built since I'm still waiting for a few parts. Aside from needing tips with the torch, I have one regarding induction heating.

I'm a fan of using concentrates and flower together, and with the way my induction heater is designed I can only heat the tip with the top of the tornado chamber facing down. I'm worried about the risk of having concentrates seeping downward and damaging/ruining something. How do I mitigate this issue when using the induction heater?

I feel like there is nothing thay could get damaged from leaking concentrate. It will just get messy.
