Music from the mid 60's to late 70's (when creative genius reigned..)

Just a sample of Sly at Woodstock.

In 1967 (coulda been 68?) my older sister drove me and a couple of friends to the Electric Circus (we had fake id's) and we danced to Sly & Family Stone. That was my first full blown 'concert' event, though it was actually an intimate venue. The place was cazy with lighting and odd spaces and I got a huge dose of this high energy in-your-face joy.

I've been doing a deep dive lately into shows I saw back in late 60's early 70's.
I did see Janis once, at Asbury Park, Aug. 23, '69. Convention center right on the ocean-side of the boardwalk. Surreal because I had vacationed right next to that boardwalk, in Avalon, as a small kid, played in the arcades. Saw Ron Popeil hawking the veg-a-matic...

Now I learn that the night I saw this concert was the night Janis met Bruce Springsteen. There is speculation to this day they got it on.

Thanks for indulging me.
