The Lotus Vaporizer

Feel like I’m winnin’ when I’m losin’ again
Yep, me n Lotus gettin’ along juss fine from bowl 1. Maiden run produced 3 nice pulls (vapor more Mighty like than ball vape), and when I dumped it was a nice dark chocolate!

One small issue (I believe I have heard others as well?) with one of the mags popping out on first bowl. A little unfortunate, but not the end of the world. Very happy with the purchase, I’m excited for fall camping with my Vapman and Lotus!

ETA: This Pulsar dry catch on Elev8 hook have been my favorite combo for Lotus thus far. I have a couple of wet catches coming to give a teeny bit of water a try.

ETA 2: Second bowl as I was watching the plate I noticed the center section which is normally slightly deformed snaps to a perfect dome right about when it’s at temp for a very nice extraction. Because of the DHL SNAFU they sent mine sans manual so maybe that’s the intended feedback method?

we would like to thank you again for your patience, the first test orders have all arrived well and the next ones will go out today. by the end of next week everyone should have received their lotus. If this is not the case please write us an email.
short update on the production, we have made good progress there as well and the next Lotuses should be available in 1-2 weeks.
we will send out an email in the middle of next week.

until then, we can't thank everyone enough who has been so kind and understanding.

Happy to see you back in business.

I miss my old Lotus. I still reminisce about sipping on my lotus with a grav-labs j-hook and a pinch of water in the crook to produce a natural percolation that generated a soothing purring sensation which translated up the glass to the lips.

Looking forward to adding one back to the collection in the near future :D

I am way too excited they brought the Lotus back, really awesome move by the Vapman crew. Now I have the opportunity to pickup two classic vapes that I didn't hold onto in the past and wished that I did.

I had a thought recently and was wondering if anyone has explored this at all. Has anyone found a method to reduce the chamber size of the lotus to be more compatible with .05 size loads or in that arena? I know the bowl isn't necessarily massive but I would love for it to be capable of a load closer to a vapman, to keep my tolerance levels within a similair range while exploring different vape signatures.. Was wondering if anyone has found ways to make the lotus work well with that amount?

A bowl reducer seems like it could maybe work. Has anyone tried something like this? I know it can vape .05 as is, but I always found it way too wispy when doing that and it wasn't ideal for a Lotus. I figured since Vapman owns Lotus now, maybe this could be an accessory at some point? Just a thought if this doesn't exist already and if the device would still function well with some sort of physical reduction in the bowl size.

I have an Anvil and Vapcap atm, I usually use the .05 bowl options for both (but scale up to .1 if my toelerance increases too much). I considered the vapman because of that .05 load size but I figure the Lotus convection might add more variety to my current line-up vape signatue variety compared to adding a vapman to that bunch. That and the Vapman lacks scalability above the .05 load size. So I figure that it's more realistic to find a way to scale down the lotus bowl size rather than increase the bowl size of a vapman lol.

Also, is there a timetable on the metal stem? Really want a lotus but a metal stem would really be useful in terms of durability concerns, I often vape outside and standing up, so not having tro use glass is definately ideal.

Have you tried to wedge the screen a little higher in the bowl? I'm not sure I've ever taken one out but that might work. A nut or something might fit under it, as well, like the glass insert for Ed's v-1 injector bowls or Sneaky Pete's half-bowl adapter. That might leave a green ring though.

I guess I don't see the point. Typically with convection devices you just load less. There is no reason to fill the WPA or lotus pipe bowl completely. You could even use a DV tip to load the exact amount that you want.

You won't get as many hits out of a smaller amount but that would also be true with a smaller bowl.

Interesting ideas, might have to give one of those a shot. I imagine shrinking the width of the bowl would help more than shrinking the depth of the bowl. From what i remember, .05 was enough to have a thin layer across the screen but that thin layer was too thin for satisfying vapor. I could be wrong, But i feel something like the volcano chamber reducer would be ideal rather than raising the load closer to the heat of the cap. Just me speculating though.

True, but .05 in my enano gets me more satisfying vapor than .05 in my lotus. So although convection does allow flexibility, i think if someone was to put .05 in a lotus, vapcap, vapman, and a log, that the lotus would lose that fight handily. But if someone wants to prove me wrong, i’d love to watch a video of .05 giving a couple or few nice hits like the other vapes can.

I know less material would mean less hits, i don’t expect miracles here, but i feel that logs do better than a lotus with .05 loads. Big difference to me besides heating style is the bowl size, an enano has a smaller bowl and you can shrink it further too. So i think loading less is good advice to a point, but the physical traits of the vape are also a factor, i think the lotus leaves more room for air to go around the flower rather than through it when loading .05, that is not the case with the other vapes listed, you still get a nice layer of flower for the air to pass through even at .05.

Agreed, that is a good way to do it. I tried using my vapcap (smallest setting) to load a lotus before as described and i always found it to perform worse than my vapcap tbh. But if someone can load .05 and get a couple good hits or a few small/medium hit (comparable to a vapcap or log), i’d love to see it, i’d be willing to chock it up to my technique being lacking a bit, but I feel pretty confident the other vapes listed will perform better and give more satisfying vapor at .05 compared to the Lotus. The bowl is wider than the other vapes, so i lean towards that being the main reason atm.

I've read somewhere back in this thread that the enano WPA can be used as a bowl for the Lotus.
I don't have a Lotus (yet) so can't confirm, but I guess you can easily try if you have both.

Wow, thanks for the heads up! That sounds like it could be a good option if it works, the glass on the enano stem is pretty thick compared to a Lotus from what I remember, maybe that slight reduction of the width will do the trick. I wonder if that setup attached to a jhook is too cumbersome and tall or if it’s pretty easy to handle. I use jhooks usually or no glass (hence my hope they bring back the Lotus metal stem).

I don’t have a lotus (yet) and only have dry stems for my Enano. But i will definitely consider picking up a Enano gong with my lotus if this option is compatible and maybe helps better vaporizer smaller .05 loads. Would love to know if anyone has tried this and how well or not well it worked for them. It’s got me intrigued for sure.

Thanks for mentioning this possibility!

Not an ideal solution, but given the nature of the Lotus you could just load enough to function well and just sip off it over the course of the evening or the next day or two, like you might with a Brick or something.

Is there an ETA for when the og stem will be included with the vape? And also it seems to me this is a convection vape…is it good for microdosing like the vapman?

Thanks :)
