I agree so very much. I have my Vapman's. Wonderful taste. ALP taste...for me is fabulous.
vapman setup is so expensive for a butane power, looks good though. if it was not so weird looking what else has real gold bowels

The Vapman's are unique and amazing. Once you have one...you need more than one. The same for ALP...I have more than one. Gold inside? I have nothing else with gold inside...I cannot remember anything else with that. I am so lucky to have these...spoiled. Seedy53 get a Vapman. The Station is not out yet and will be expensive...but, in the meantime, they provide a torch lighter with your purchase. Anyway, keep enjoying your ALP because you already have the only vape you will ever need.

There is zero inhaling done while heating the Vapman.
You load it, assemble the top, turn on its side and heat for a few seconds, remove flame and then inhale. You only heat the gold bowl and the heat is drawn inside the bowl by small tubes. Totally different to the Sticky Bricks.

That is something I worry about too...that is why the heating station will be supreme...in the meantime, my go to is the ALP...then, a few other top dogs...but, I start with the ALP everytime...as you can see on my signature list. If you have any on that top list...you are doing fine. My humble opinion...

The ALP users who say the flavor is divine vs the ALP users who say flavor is just "ok"... I'd be curious to know what they are doing differently.

I'm wondering the same, honestly. I love my ALP in general, but I can't seem to nail the flavor department. Your post about the Pax rings true with me as well. I used the Pax 3 for the first time in weeks after using almost nothing but the ALP in that time and was kind of shocked at how much more flavor I was getting from it. It's gotta be user error, right? Or at least I hope, as I continue to experiment with different packing methods, draw speeds and temps haha.

I use herb that is not that ground up. I do not use a grinder. I just tear it apart lightly with my fingers. Almost nub like. I put it on session and the temp is 380 F. That is my sweet spot. After two pulls...I open it and stir the bowl for another three and then, its done.

I do not fill the bowl.

never stir my alp in session start 360f, 390f, 410f, finish 464f to make pat the alp's back to get a avb puck

Ok, so I'm not completely insane. Lol. There is a level of terpiness that Ive only ever experienced on session conduction vapes. And those things are in the 360's on the lowest setting. I'm taking the ALP to 325 and it's very good, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't have that extra little terp zing that my Alfa and P2 had. Maybe I'm just a freak and need to go see a shrink.
Maybe various brains have different interpretations of what the best flavor is, and theyre wired to think convection has better flavor than a Pax3/Arizer/IQ/Vapman. And they wouldn't be wrong, because that's what their brains are telling them. But maybe the brains of you and me are wired differently...

...in my experience, I have learned that not everyone likes the same thing or feels the same thing...or tastes the same thing. It will be their experience...and God knows what that is! All I can say is my point of view and how it affects me. My best friend cannot stand any vape other than her Volcano...she does not trust anything else and she is totally satisfied with the taste, etc. She smokes out of my ALP and its just ok for her. It blows my mind!!! But, that is the way it goes...I love this vape because its just the right session mode time for me...I love the haptics that indicate when its ready....when its done...I love the CIAO at the end. Just perfect. I am in love with it.

I messed up on the spring bundle deal because I was waiting for payday so to not have to use a credit card, unfortunately the deal expired a few days before payday. Now I just wait for the next deal like that. Although I am tempted by the current deal, I just didn’t think it was as good. Will I be stepping up in performance and efficiency from my HR Rogue? Thanks!

Agree with this 100%. Little torn or crumbled nuggs works best I find. Took me a while to figure this out. I even keep some pre-crumbled or torn little nuggs in a container to load the ALP with. Don't pack the bowl firmly, just pour in little nuggs or torn flower.

I like to start on session at 370-373 and then move to about 380-383. If I really want to cash the bowl (I usually don't bc I prefer flavor) I'll finish at 390.

my Santa Cruz Shredder 3 pc med grind makes my weed soft, aerie, fluffy, and uniform and i've tried the rip and tear method and little whole nugs methods. guess which did best? SCS, it performs finer than a jetliner. lol each to their own, i reckon lol

so the alp is a conduction unit, only, with both on demand and session modes, not a hybrid?
i thought airvape said alp was both convection and conduction unit, no? Gary-Airvape. clear this up, please.

It's way more conduction than convection.
IMO it's about 90% conduction and 10% convection.

I can roast my herb at very low temps to a very dark brown and this tells me lots of conduction happening in the oven.
Happens in both modes as well, again a mostly conduction vape.

It's a nice device and easy to use and provides different effects to my heavy hitter desktop lineup.
My unit does not have any small o-rings anywhere, must be a new design for the silicone oven cover.
The little capsules are quite fiddly to use but work exceptionally well.

And no tricks are required to use this vape. It can be used very effectively straight out of the box.
Pumps out a few hits of great flavor and then it declines pretty quickly for me into that usual conduction taste.
Pumps out vapor till the end which is pretty nice.
I find the first bowl to be a device warmup, it's good but not as good as the next few bowls.
Once the device heats up it really pumps out vapor.
Vapor is pretty cool as well, though I am using it at 350F so that could change with hotter temps.

I like the form factor and the thought that has been put into it's design and features.

@Gary-Airvape
If you can add even more convection to your next portable and reduce the conduction, that would be amazing!
Most people use dedicated herb and concentrate devices, why not focus on an outstanding convection portable?
The market is flooded with conduction devices...

maybe add a ruby terp ball chamber/cavity between coil and oven?

I disagree. In on-demand mode the bowl stays at room temp unless you push the button. Once you stop pushing the button the temp plummets again. Nothing happens to my weed if I don't draw in this mode. Of course once you draw the bowl will absorb some heat from the hot air flowing through it but this dissipates once you stop pushing the button and stop drawing. Also, you can see the temp dropping on the display. Seems very heavily convection in this mode.

In session mode of course it's hybrid convection/conduction as the bowl gets heated along with the heated air you draw through the bowl. I actually prefer this hybrid mix but I think it's anyone's guess as to what the ratio is. My feeling is that it's around 70%/30% convection/conduction at the start of my session and maybe 50/50 by the end of a 3 minute session.
