but does the door on your device close flush over the bowl segment or not? if not how large/noticeable is the gap there on the bottom?
could someone please post a closeup pic of it from a good angle (side/bottoom)?
i understand the messiness of the device can be solved with the screen hack until the more elegant caps solution is finally released.
There is no gap
I said this to you so far back
This is beyond
You have blown up and mistaken a comment someone else mentioned about a leaky airpath
It is a bit higher on one end
No gaps

For real, way to make the entire thread about one thing - that you say is a fault - but you don't have one - and you don't have any owners saying it's a thing

Here are some pix for ya, Lotus. So you can see what the fit looks like. Slightly not flush at the oven end (the end with fabric cover).
It seems that slightly askew is to spec, and I understand that would drive some folks nuts. It annoys me, personally, but not enough that I regret my purchase, because it’s a fantastic device. But everyone knows themselves and their own quirks best. Hope this helps you decide

Great pics cheers
Looks about a mm higher at one end - like I mentioned many posts ago
That should end the lengthy discussion

What's with your LCD screen looking scratched and manky (before that gets called a factory fault)

@felvapes i mean ... it's a visible cosmetic fault in an otherwise very pleasing, well fitting, symmetric design and a bit of a letdown for me personally as a nitpicker. i'll have to think on it a bit longer but probably not enough to keep me from buying it. if you don't see that i'd like to sell you a car in the same condition.

this is the 1st time actual real pictures of this detail are posted online AFAIK. all the official promo material shows it closing flush, starting with large render on the official website here . while the review pics are only top-down.
thank you! @StringTheorista

edit: @Gary-Airvape i'd love to see inside the device as well, ideally a teardown but i'll settle for a render or sketch. just to get an idea of the airpath and materials used in it. and to better understand the heater. thank you!

Read this thread
The materials are there
The teardown pics have been requested
But you can't demand them and most vapes don't do so
It would be great if Randy still did teardowns - we've covered that too
And don't bring other manufacturers having shared teardown pics while those are still have actual issues arising

Mate don't used car salesman me
And honestly - try emailing a list of your questions and you'll get an answers quickly without dragging this thread around
Do you do this to all vapes - what vapes do you own ? I'd hope they are all absolutely flawless to every detail
Doubt they are though

I'm all for discussion and issues being discussed and fucntion problems and safety etc

But this is pages of a door that now the pics are there you can see is so minimal and not worth the all the hullabaloo
You could have taken peoples word for it - or the fact no one who has one had complained once - except about a leaky seal

I think by now we understand your feelings on the "faulty" door
Now you can look at it all day and make up your mind while we discuss the vape and our usage experience

Do newer models come with a better fitting mouth piece or is that something everyone should be requesting with their order?

No that one’s all me. I stuck a piece of clear plastic over it to protect it from scratches. It looks less janky in person lol. But I should redo it

@felvapes @vandalizedbythelotus
May I respectfully suggest that you both let go of the rope? All the points that could be made have been, by now

Mods, apologies for the double post.

Like you said there is no door gap and after 2 to 3 months of moderate use, still opens and closes with no air gap. If your door is messed-up (after your delivery and inspection), then why blame the door issue with the unit's manufacture?BTW my door hinge works perfectly. I will admit i have not drooped my unit out and in my blood meter's soft case. I think, it is very well made. However, it does need some small hacks and minor physical improvements. I'm happy, very happy with ALP!

I’ve had my ALP for 3 weeks. I noticed the minuscule raise on the bottom half of the door too and it bothered me slightly at first. But, it has zero effect on performance. The suggestion of pushing it down for more vapor made zero difference on my unit. The vapor production is already fantastic, especially on demand. I absolutely love the ALP.

I’ve had mine for two weeks and it’s been great. I never even noticed the door as the delta is so slight. Solid build….no movement or feel of compression in the door while in use. Without the pictures and commentary, I doubt that I’d ever notice it. Must have the new mouthpiece as Gary mentioned. It is well-anchored with its gasket.

If a person (me) can get past the need for wood artisan devices, the ALP is a neat machine. I enjoy a conduction/convection mix, this delivers that medication profile.

Not trying to compare, but a lot of similarities to a FW7 (using on demand). Just have to think of it as a metal version. Yes I own both.

So far my only downside would be the ease of on the go use. It’s great for at home use, but emptying and loading on the go will take a partner or some dedication.

Can someone accustomed to the on-demand mode share their workflow? (amount in the chamber, tightness of pack, length of inhale, temperature used)

What is the difference between using the session mode for a short session of a few puffs then turning it off and using on-demand?
I feel one pull is never enough for me and I feel the on-demand just add time between inhales.

On another note, the more I use it the more I love it. I feel the temps reading are kind of off though as I now leave it on 180C for a full 5 minutes session and the ABV is way way darker than all my other devices at the same temp for same amount of time. I like it a lot still. I just wonder if it a consequence of removing the gold disk making the heating element work harder to "keep up the temp". Either way great vapor consistency and texture, only a bit harsher on the last minute of the session.

In session mode there is some conduction heating of the bowl constantly, as well as convection heating that happens only when you pull. In on-demand mode, your material is never heated at all until you pull (all convection heating). That's why you don't need to bring the bowl back to temp in session mode between hits. It's always heating.

I'm still in the testing phase myself. I also am having a hard time tweaking the on-demand mode and the temps. I've kept my gold disk in place however. I've tried some session mode but trying to be consistent and finish my experimentation with on-demand first. I'm trying to maximize the tastiest hits but still finish the bowl with some nice rips that aren't too harsh or hot.

I think my mistake when I started was using a fine grind. The ALP is so efficient I had only 2 tasty hits (pretty massive too) before the bowl started to taste spent. I wanted more. I've kept the temp around 370F and try to draw harder if I want a heat increase.

Recently I've tried crumbling some nugs into the bowl for a very coarse "grind" and I seem to be able to make the tasty hits last longer. The added bonus is that with bigger bits of material the AVB flies around less and is much easier to clean. I've checked the AVB after too and it's brown and crumbly with no green bits inside. Now if I could just figure out how to get that "dynavap" type hit where it starts tasty and then builds into a big cloud from the temp increase in a single draw.

I don't really have a perfected method, but...

465F, max temp, full bowl lightly tamped down (not compressed). Hold the button until the buzz, keep holding it, draw long and reasonably fast deep into the lungs, hold 3, exhale slow. Your inhale speed regulates the temp a bit. You can always slow down or speed up as needed to hit the cloud you want.

That'll cash the oven pretty quickly. 2-3 hits if you've got the lung capacity. 4 gets your ABV closer to coffee grounds. Works well through glass. First hit is tasty and great, second and third hit are going to be much cloudier and a bit harsher.

I also really enjoy low temp use. Throw a loose bowl (or even 3/4th of a bowl) of high quality flower in there and set it to the lowest possible temp (try the lowest setting, but at worst try to keep it under 300F). Same basic trick - just hold the button till it buzzes and keep holding it as you draw. This time, hold them in a bit longer. Maybe to a 4-5 count, then a soft slow exhale. It won't seem like you're getting much vapor, but after 5-10 draws like this I get a nice airy light and creative feeling that washes over me. The ABV will be barely golden as you go, but it gets a bit more toasted if you do these draws in fairly rapid succession. You won't get the heavy effects that come from higher temp. It's smooth as butter, no coughing, and generally feels great... and if you REALLY want the rest of the effects before you empty that bowl, you can always crank it up and do a 465F hit at the end as I described above.

All of that said... doing basic temp-steps and going from 340 to 420 or so also works nicely. Just start at 340, do 2-3 good on-demand hits... move to 380, do 2-3 more, then jump to 420 and finish things up.

Hi everyone, so, it was a fucked up day today. My Pro flew into the toilet. Yes. The toilet today. I took it out quickly and proceeded to dry it. Took out the battery, etc. I did not try to turn it on. So...please help me anyone. What should I do other than cry? Is there something I should be doing? Once something falls into water its not the same anymore right?

Shit. Ok. So I get a new one. This sucks. But, what is great is that I have my TM2 and my Volcano to the rescue. Until I get my Pro working and a new one.
