will the wood mp’s be avail in the eu store? And will the dosing caps drop in eu at the same time as the us ones? All the best.

Does anyone know the full specs of the 18650 stock battery (aside from the mAh). Trying to discern whether the molicel P26A I already have is a suitable second battery. It’s specs are: 2600mAh, 35A, flat top. Thanks in advance. My unit is supposed to arrive Friday, I’m traveling Saturday, so 🤞

I use Molicel p26a's in it and they work great. I don't know what the current draw is on the Legacy Pro but it's gotta be less than 35A, so you're fine.

The legacy battery will be less than 20a being that it is labelled 3200mah

We users know what will work well, it's the lack of covering warranty over a battery that's the issue

Maybe it would be better if the company let us know what specs are safe to use in order to keep the warranty without forcing us to buy more legacy ones
Because some batteries definitely have more power - is there a reason they don't want us using higher amp draw batteries and why?

The amp rating on a battery is a maximum though, no? I've never heard of issues with using a battery that has more headroom than required.

I understand about the warranty and that some folks will stick with the stock batteries for that reason.

I wouldn't think there would be an issue myself
But some vapes perform better with higher amp draw batteries so there must be a difference
The v3pro it's a noticeable difference

Be nice to have the option without being concerned of warranty though - or an explanation as to why not would also be nice from the company

These Herb Vaporizers, most likely, have a setting to allow a max amount of amperage they can draw.
Probably, an amp limiter circuit has been installed, otherwise these batteries and/or devices, running at max temp, they would be to hot to touch, catch on fire, or even explode.
It's a built-in safety aspect, otherwise these unprotected flat-top batteries would be extremely dangerous.
Keeping their amperage setting limits, that they are designed for, should be a big concerned and the main reason you would void factory warranties.
I doubt more max amps would be help, but more voltage storage capacity ( mAh = MilliAmp Hour ), would allow longer session time for vaping.
If i got this wrong, please show the data, , please. I'm willing to learn, always.
Thanks.

That makes sense. I’m not trying to run more amps, just checking whether there’s any reason a batt with higher max amps would be contraindicated. Because it’s just a *capacity* for higher amps, right? The device will still only pull whatever it pulls (as you said). I confess I find the entire subject of li-ion batteries quite daunting.

Although "Battery" Mooch was mentioned above, I'll put his name out as Reddit's and the web's vape battery expert. Google his name and read up a bit. You'll soon become a much more educated 18650 user.

There is no issue using a replacement battery with a _HIGHER maximum amp draw_. The problem (and imo AirVape's reasoning for their battery policy) is when a custy uses a _LOWER maximum amp draw_ battery and then runs end to end to end maximum temp sessions until the battery fails. That's a bummer for everyone and I can understand Airvape's concern and I follow their recommendations.

TBH, 18650's are a consumable anyway. Use the original for 6-12 months and replace. Said simply, that 18650 will lose some of it's punch after so many charge/discharge cycles. For example, things won't heat up quite as fast. They just get old. Then there's wireless charging so I really only pull the battery when I deep clean.

you know what fixes this problem? Putting the correct amperage on the battery it came with and having that info on the website. They just want people forced into buying their batteries. I have asked about what the ALP is rated for and also the battery. He won't give the info out. Why.. it's Rediculous tbh.

In fact I think it's dangerous they don't put the amps on the rewrapped battery. What if someone uses this in something that draws 25+ amps? Also I think it's dangerous no one knows what the amp draw is for the unit.

If you don't agree with ALP business practices, perhaps there are other vapes that do provide Amp draw, battery rating etc. that would be more suitable for you. Most of the ALP owners in this thread are cool with their vape and the company that made it. It's cool if you are not. Thanks for stopping in.

TBH, I don't necessarily disagree. However, it is what it is. Airvape has the right to provide a propriatary battery for the exclusive use with the extractor they manufacture from (I assume) registered plans. And seriously, the idiot who uses an unknown cell in a 25A device (unless it's the makers cell) prolly deserves what thay get.

No offense, go back and read the _whole_ thread. This was dealt with in detail (I know, I was involved). Sorry, I'm not going to do a tldr, if you kind of skim the posts w/needless info there's a lot of excellent stuff.

I don't need to read anything thanks.

When someone takes their battery and has issues they can deal with that.

What idiot won't buy or use batteries that are at or above the device they bought is rated at?

The only cooling "unit" is a series of bends designed into the vapor path. You could remove the mouth piece and draw directly on the body I suppose. Otherwise, that's a very cool "no" there, teacup!
Thanks man, yeah that’s kinda what I thought. Really wanted to use that 100 dollar discount too. Been striking out on my last few vapes I’ve bought and just can’t get myself to take another chance on not being able to gauge the heat on the back of my throat. Not the answer I wanted but definitely appreciate the response.

Can anything be taken out of the ALP to get hotter hits? Don't like too cool of hits, I need a little heat in the throat tbh. Thanks alot. 👍

Edit: To be a little clearer, I don't want hot hits.....but I do like some heat there, and the talk is always how there doesn't seem to be much at all, if any. I'm hoping that's atleast a smidge ;) from many's honeymoon stage talking there.
Have you cranked it all the way up? I haven’t but I’ve seen another say they took it to max and loved it. No combustion.

Just put in an order via the EU store. Very excited tbh.
You will be very happy!

On demand 464 is not at all hot
Use a decent draw strength and you get great clouds and amazing taste with big hits
It is like a mini Plenty like this, flavourful

If you want better performance and airflow also (plus keeps everything cleaner) remove the small gold screen all together - useless and gets clogged quickly
Put a mighty screen (or 16mm) over the bowl - open the dosing disc to at least half way or more
When I get dosing caps I will remove this disc all together also

This will make it perform better and produce better clouds - that may help your throat tickle a little
I still find this a very smooth vape, I always like big hits and usually like using water with most vapes - I use the ALP dry
Same. No need for water with it. Man, I just love it.

No, I don't have one. I'm asking about removing the cooling unit because I don't want that cool of hits. Felvapes doesn't exactly have a ringing endorsement of it being hot. Even if 464 was hot enough for me I can't help to think what my AVB would look like at that temp........I'm not an Anvil ride the line kinda guy. I've been wanting this since it came out but I think I'm gonna pass, I've been striking out with vape purchases lately and I just can't justify taking a chance on this.

vaping may not be your cup-of-tea.
toking from a steel smoke pipe maybe your best option, if hard hitting throat heat is your main feature, you desire.

There is no dark avb
You are not "riding the line"
The vapour isn't cool, it's smooth
There's still some "heat" at 464

At top temp you have no chance of combustion however you draw and the avb is perfect
I can't upload pics on this site to prove to you but of all my 30+ vapes this has so far retired all my other portables
I just sold the mighty as a result

The mighty is harsher if you like to cough
Not sure what features you are looking for from a vape though

Tried a dynavap? It’s possible to get that throat hit, depending on technique (i.e., cover the airport, heat low on the cap, use a short stem with no cooling features.)
Back on topic, my ALP is arriving a day early! Am excited with hearing it made @felvapes sell their mighty. Wondering if it will knock my dynavaps off their top spot in my rotation

Before my ball vapes and ALP the DV paired with the wand IH was my go to for a good while
I need two DV bowls to get a hit like one ALP
Plus the maintenance is easier and cleaning less often

It has not knocked my dynavap out. Still use it regularly, just not as often.
