Dude I checked out when SS was being considered because minimal metal & flavour had been so integral to the equation for me. Just not interested in metal vapes at this stage. So I squealed like a little girl when I saw your post on choosing Ceramic Zirconia and V1.8 was happening soon! I’m glad & proud of you for sticking to your vision.

I know you’ve got many plans for different devices with other qualities but I’m super stoked that this one is for the freaky vape nerds chasing premium vape dreams.

Thank you sir! And I appreciate the honesty!
I'm hoping with this puritan approach to maybe even get some crossover from the dab crowd and rekindle their love of flower. A lot of these folks tend to be pretty picky about materials.

I definitely appreciate the interest and support, I'm pretty stoked that people seem to be into it!

I didn’t completely check out on the SS version, but as someone with both a ShowerHead and VRod covering the metal heater desktop front it was significantly less compelling to me.

I still would have bought one to support him and the future of the project, and it may even have been better than my FlowerPots, but the 1.8 is much more what I was chasing. I think it will be awesome!

I appreciate the honesty! It's really nice to see that some people really do care about this puritan medical grade type design.
For a while I was starting to think all those people might have switched to dabs!

I also preordered over the weekend:
Acquired my August VAS validation stamp, so I may now bypass FC security checkpoints
Gotta support vape designers, especially local SoCal folk

Hoping for good flow with less retriction, those slots rather than holes should help

Previously had helical heating hysteria
He's got that covered in this heater
Now zapped with a zeal for zirconia

Much respect!!! Pro move to just get your renewal stamp, because those rates go up substantially if you just let your VASport expire.

I saw your order come in and I really intended to drop you a PM to thank you personally; but I've just been a bit busy this week dealing with family visiting from out of the country. Everybody is gone now, so back to work! But any names I recognize, I do recognize and really appreciate!!

And yes, a lot of consideration has gone into making a more comfortable draw, as one of the main flaws of ball vapes is the drag they create from the high surface area. It's somewhat subjective, but high draw restriction makes for a very uncomfortable convection vaping experience IMHO, thus most of my iterations have continually involved an airflow improvement.

@invertedisdead Will it be possible to see a performance video of the 1.8 before they're shipped out or will you receive yours at the same time as ours?

I'll probably slap a sneak peak together just for fun before I mail everything out.

Now that's great!!!

Thanks for the support gang, I'll be ordering all the components very soon. Didn't get too much done this week as the manufacturers I've been in correspondence with in Japan have been on holiday for most of the week, and now it's the weekend. So we'll be back at it on Monday.

Gonna try and get back to any PMs and emails this weekend; but today is my moms birthday so I might be "out of the office."

Thanks again all

I remember when I first got into vaping, the g43 and the tubo evic were the purest vapes I knew of. So naturally I tried to grab a tubo evic only to find out they, and the tetra dual was discontinued. I wasn't able to get my "all glass" airpath until the tetra p80 was released. I didn't even dive into desktops until late 2020 so I didn't even realize how much more purity I could get. Now here I am, awaiting the endgame in regards to purity. I know a few friends and family who will really appreciate it as well so I'm stoked you stuck with that vision, as enticing as an indestructible super vape is.

Similar experience here: got into vaping unaware these things were happening; bought an elev8r because I liked my DBV; learned about the mod and elecro-ballified; bought a metal injector for durability, capacity, power. Now we have the purity of the G43/E-elev8r with power, capacity, and durability similar to the bigger metal injectors!

That's still pretty good, I used to vape out of a plastic bag, and before that - a rubber hose

Is it still possible to order a 1.7? I really like the look of the 1.8, but it is out of my price range.

To me, the 1.7 looks perfect and I would definitely order one if they were available.

There are only a few 1.7s out there because he couldn’t find a shop that would reliably produce them…sadly there probably won’t be any more made, but hopefully if there is enough interest in the 1.8 the high production costs will go down!

pxl_jockey

Just a dude
The 1.7 might look perfect but its obviously not or inverted would be selling them? Not possible to order one because they’re not being made. I don’t think the maker even has one for posterity after his last one broke.

That was the problem with the 1.7, beyond the production issues, its fragility. Imagine you just bought one and it broke while fitting it on the coil, before you even used it? Would you be happy & think you got good value for your money? FC people might be happy to buy a visionary vape understanding it’s amazing but very fragile. However, the “public”? Sheeeeeiiittt

Even with a disclaimer, how long would inverted stay in business? The 1.7 as a product is unsupportable tbh; it’s either refund or replace units or face the wrath online and still get chargebacks. The only way to cover all that breakage would be raising the price per unit. A lot. People would complain they can’t afford it.

The earlier iterations were attempts to make the device as inexpensive as possible but the material couldn’t cope with the design demands. I’d much rather @invertedisdead move forward with this product and other designs before encouraging him to spend his energy literally going backwards.

People can hope but I honestly wouldn’t expect the price for the V1.8 to come down, he would need to order in the thousands to get a break on material and tooling costs big enough that customers would see it in the price tag. Any savings should go to profit, to the maker! MFs expecting large scale economics from one dude in a cottage industry :disgust:

I was a 1.7 supporter. Got mine and within 10-minutes I broke it trying to seat it in the coils. I'm not very DIY friendly. I reached out to invertedisdead and paid for another and for him to set it into my coil which I mailed to him. I treat it like its the most fragile item I've ever owned and love it. It's hard to see how it would work as a regular product due to it's fragile nature.

Who knows what will happen with materials and costs. Right now it's hard to imagine prices coming down with all the economic pressures. I know it's a lot but I'm super excited and if it's super durable and if it functions like the 1.7 then this will be a lot of fun!!

i also messed mine up. Shattered in my fingers right before a drum gig I had that morning. The gig went fine but I had to use my metal vape afterwards instead of the delicious glass I had tried the day prior. This zirconia is expensive but I think it's the only way to get such a low compromise design for a desktop

1.7 is discontinued, it's just too hard to get the perfect fit with the coil. Very "Goldilocks"
It's possible the design could come back in Zirconia as an 18mm head, but it's not really my priority. Especially because once I do the matching zirconia 1.8 bowl I don't think the larger sized heads will really have much to offer.

1.8 is definitely more expensive - lets quantify this - a single 1.8 also costs more to build than an entire batch of 1.7's.

But if I had to place my bets on which one would still be running in 3 years it's probably gonna be the more expensive one.

Statistically, most people were able to set the 1.7 up fine, but the sample size was pretty small. In the end I couldn't feel super confident about it as I broke more 1.7's than anybody. The glass designs definitely benefited from the coil support arm used in earlier 20MM iterations.

Also I can confirm now that these are in fact going to be produced in Japan by one of the most advanced ceramic manufacturers in the world. Definitely not the lowest price, but I also literally can't afford any bad parts. Instead I want people to feel like they are investing in a new Toyota/Lexus. Confident in quality and reliability.

There will probably be a slight change to the bezel groove design for improved manufacturability.

Just working through the last details, and the order is going in this week.

Thanks to all supporters and followers!

If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask.

AAAAAAAAH!!!! I feel like a lil kid before Christmas. This thing is going to be sick. I'm mostly excited for the 14mm bowl. I have the elev8r bowl on my b-0 right now and I feel it's just too big. I barely cover the screen most of the time but I find I get much better performance if the herb is a couple mm thick in the bowl so the smaller bowl will be super nice.

To add, I think that the length of the bowl in the convection supreme setup I have contributes both to the flavor and the performance when compared to the lotus bowl setup I used before. I just don't want hot silicone in my air path so I stopped using the supreme regularly

So stoked.

So I setup the 1.7 as my main vape. I was giving it a little break and using the TiTi I made. First hit at temp and the flavor is so much better than the Ti injector! No contest. I can't wait for the 1.8. If it delivers that same amazing flavor and durability - wow then it's going to be a very special vaporizer indeed!!

It's definitely based on lots of experiments.
