Kanthal is probably a safe alloy and you dont have to worry about it. But i didnt like the aluminium in it.

According to your question on the TCR. I tested all the different values, till the result looked reasonable. But my mod didnt behave well with TC.
You maybe have to ask someone who is more into the TCR game.
Nichrome is also a not a very good choice, cause formation of hexavalent chromium. I have done some research and aquired a spool of Zirconium wire and i highly recommend that stuff :) ! Got mine from a local source but the info is from the link below ,seen it on aliexpress too!
Alloys generally suck for TC , pure metal deliverys a far more accurate experience !!! Also it doesnt taste metallic like SS ,have yet to find a better suited material for dry coils.
Stay vaped and healthy !

General information about Zr element:

Zirconium wire takes on the look of a silvery metal, as do most zirconium products. With a high melting point of 1855°C (3371°F), including all of it's other characteristics, zirconium wire is excellent for vaping. Zirconium wire is also finding many other uses as people are becoming more familiar with the product.
Zirconium Wire Applications:
Zirconium wire, along with other zirconium products, is highly resistant to corrosion, making it ideal for use with almost all acids. Zirconium wire can also act as soldering wire for other zirconium materials and can be applied to springs, meshes, and electrodes. Zirconium wire also aids the elements used within the medical field, like in zirconium implants.

Its oxides are used for repairing human teeth.

That brand seems to be available in the EU too !

Want to post a link where i can read more about "heavalent chromium"? I cant find anything about this but would like to know more about it.

My experience with nicrome is perfect taste and it didnt change (not even a little bit) in some years of heavy usesage.
The surface looks like new and the resistance never changed.

In contrast to the ss coil which builds up an oxidiation layer on the surfce and the resistance changed by time till the point it burned through (at least in my build).

Zirconium sounds defenitly interesting, thanks for telling. Ill have a closer look on it.

Yeah personally I can always taste nichrome heating elements and it ruins the experience for me, stainless steel is much more pure, kanthal is not great for me either... You probably experienced those issues with stainless steel, because of the shape and style of your heating element, along with the grade of steel wire, like the thickness?? Anyway I am very interested in this zirconium wire though, sounds great!

Actually you are right, i looked it up and i find only a single boogie man tale . From research it says its probable but highly unlikely to form harmful levels of Chrome IV ,it does form Chrome III which seems not to be harmful.
Here is a large read on the subject.
Even in that case :), i would give the Zirconium wire a go . You do offer high quality products so it might be a step further in perfection :). Even for marketing purposes ,it would give people more peace of mind, also they last "forever" compared to other materials.

According to the link you posted it shows that Chrom III is "an essential nutrient required for normal energy metabolism. Very low amounts are present in ambient air of urban areas"
But i couldnt find any information that a heated nicrome wire would emit chrom III. Would you mind to give me a source for this?

Thank you!
Took me quite a while to read through your links and some other scientific papers i found.
Looks like nicrome is a very good choice😇

But since zirconium works for TC as well, it would be defenitly a step further to perfection. and its probably an even better choice over nicrome. Thanks for telling!

Im going to order some wire and test it out. Im also curious about the behavior (especially heat up time, energy consumption and the ability to store heat) compared to nicrome👍

Many mods wont perform well in TC, so wattage mode will be still the way to go for many users.

Im going to report my results here on fc. Stay tuned!

There is a Zirconium profile in that link, it can help you with the setting up the TC/TCR also give you an idea about its behaviour

Does anyone have a ballpark idea on current waitlist time for the 510? I’m 2 months in and I’m hoping it’s not like the nomad/heat island lists. That being said, I’m super excited for those makers and understand the wait/demand.
Not complaining, just curious is all.

Thanks for asking! But I wish i could tell you more details.

The 510 waiting list is already very full. I cant promise that everyone on the list can get a Musa 510.
I have supply and time problems at the moment, because of this my focus is on the desktop model these times.

Because of this reasons Im going to close the waiting list for the 510 unit for an undefinite period.
Thanks for everyone who is on the list! <3 I'll still try to work on it slowly

@Abysmal Vapor

I was able to test Zirconium as heater material but i have to say that im not very happy with it.
It tastes not perfect (like Nicrome) and the surface of the used coil doesnt look very trustworthy to me.
So far my favorite coil material is still Nicrome.

Has anyone of you made some tests with Zirconium already? Would be interesting to hear some other opinions, because i think the material itself has a great behavior to be used as a heater coil in terms of function (heats up very fast for example).

Strange ,my experience is to the contrary, i am interested to hear what others think of it. Coil surface looks like day one to me, but i havent run it glowing temps to be honest. Where did you source your wire from ? (is it for vaping purposes ? )
I have also noticed quick and uniform heating.
I am guessing some people would be sensitive to one things and others to else ,so that is the beauty of having a Rebuildable coil atomizer, you can find what works best for you, without being tied to a certain coil form or material.

I bought the wire from an e-cigarette shop. Should be legit.

The coils surface looks similar to a stainless steel coil after running it at glowing temps. Maybe even worse, i cant compare it side by side at the moment.
Its no sience, but my personal impression is that it is not 100% safe to use. At least there are better options if you considering the health aspect - in my opinion and experience.

The nicrome coil stays shiny, no matter how much it glows. Which is a great indicator to me that the material stays in its initial state. Prove me wrong here ^^

Appreciate your input! Its always great to experiment with new materials or ideas 👍

Anyone know where I should look for those silicone rings? I broke both of them and so my Musa doesn't hold together. I'd like to fix that as it's a really good and my only portable vape. Can I know the specs? Is it 20mm diameter, 1mm thickness? I have a hard time finding any shop that would even sell these. (Czech Republic, Europe)

18mm OD and 2mm thickness, from an email I had with Tobias a while back. They are cheap on Amazon and I would think larger hardware stores would carry them as well.

If 18mm if OD and thickness is 2mm i guess inner diamater is 16mm

Not on my calculator :dog:
If it's 18mm OD and 2mm thick, the internal ID will be 14mm (18 - 2 - 2)
Which they have in MVQ60
And FPM80

And sounds right to me as the Arizer stems are 14.4mm OD

I measured the diameter of these slits as about 19 or 20 mm, i guess the o-rig has to stretch a bit and gets thinner as it stretches. I already ordered 16,18,19 and 20 ID, and sent an email asking to switch the 20 for 14 lol. Hopefully at least something works.

edit: Digging through my DMs, I found MUSA telling me "Its 18mm outer diamter and 1mm thickness."
....
yeah i was thinking if 2mm thickness was too much.... welp...

Unfortunately its not the correct o-ring size. Im so sorry! I couldnt find the correct answer to this question yet.
