Would you recommend a convection vape that's portable and isn't harsh on the throat?

When looking into convection vapes, I'm considering:
  • small or pocketable form factor
  • hits aren't so harsh.
  • doesn't require stirring, or at least offers dosing capsules
  • starts up relatively quickly and is designed for quick hits, rather than sessions, or at least provides that option.
  • Bonus Points if it offers replacable batteries.
If anything comes to mind, I'm all ears. I am fine spending any amount, just trying to make my first vaporizer a really special purchase.

I think you are describing the Tinymight. Ticks every box.
Any small pocketable vape that is full convection is going to produce relatively hot vapour. The TM does as good a job as any cooling with its standard stem, but has other (less portable) cooling options as well.

I wonder if a teflon stem, like the bowl on the inside of the minivap, would help give vapes like Fury edge or Arizer products a greater convection influence instead of the conduction effect added by the glass. Not like the edge of arizer products are particularly conduction focused anyways.

Wrong thread I know, but your question made me think of it :hmm:

small or pocketable form factor
No convection can be "pocketable", only "portable", or u wear cargo pants...

hits aren't so harsh.
Will depend of how u use, with fast extraction (1 hit or 2 only) desktop it gave no harshness at high temp.
But mod box have to do more hit, and so less temp if u want no harshness on your last draw

doesn't require stirring, or at least offers dosing capsules
The only way to have that with a portable convection will be microdosing, don't expect more than 0.05g

Only desktop will be able to go high temp without harshness and no stirring for >0.05g.

Grasshopper fits everything you’re asking for. that thing is a powerhouse in the shape and size of a pen.

It was my daily driver for awhile until reliability issues started happening.

It’s truly the best stealth portable convection vape on the market... WHEN IT WORKS.

You should add the company has a history of cs issues (unfortunately).

Think it is a hybrid instead of pure convection, but Firewood 7 might still be worth a look.

TM does tick all those boxes, as someone else mentioned. But I'd recommend you are comfortable with where there customer service is now. I hear it is better. But I'll be waiting 6 months to a year before thinking about that one based on all the negative expereinces people have reported in the TM thread and the spin off thread about those sorts of complaints.

This is not true, although the more you want to avoid harshness, the less pocketable it becomes?

Neither of these statements are true at all in my experience btw

the TM thread and the spin off thread about those sorts of complaints.

Are you talking about the shipping thread, there is no thread for the TM just about complaints...?

I think you may have forgotten the title of the thread when you recommended the grasshopper. The hopper is hotter on the throat than any vape on the market. Also not sure why anyone would recommend a device that has failed them. Avoid the hopper at all costs.

You can get a sufficient draw in before the vapor gets uncomfortable.

I still think it ticks op’s checklist. It’s still the holy grail for some vapists, but I’m not wiling to go through the CS/reliability crap myself. Hence the warning. 🤷‍♂️

Smartphone kind of pocketable, it's not pocketable...
Even more if u want more cooling and a non conductive convection between 2 hit...

I wait your portable that can one hit 0.1g ??
Only multiple reheat and under cooled give harshness...

My TM is pocketable like a smartphone, GH obviously is as is vleafgo, many others. Bulky in the pocket, still fits in the pocket, sure a smartphone is slim but they're so gigantic now... I prefer to carry things in my hoodie pockets instead regardless, and I don't like wearing tight skinny jeans or whatever personally... I'm just saying it's pretty subjective, objectively there are many pure convection portable vapes that are pocketable. There are often trade offs for making them more pocketable, mainly for cooling and batteries, like GH especially.

I wait your portable that can one hit 0.1g ??

I'm not weighing loads, but glass stem vapes have very adjustable chamber size, of course the more you load the more likely you will need to stir, however stirring is still not necessarily necessary... I do think more often than not I am vaping under .1g bowls in my glass stem pure convection (or tafée bowle) vapes, but typically I load more than .05g I think... I can do ~ .15g in them too.

You said portable pure convection can only microdose, this just isn't true, while my portables are also capable of delivering a high temp hit with controlled harshness, loading more than .05g without stirring... TM RBT Tetra GH Bowle and others can all do this effectively... Not only desktops...

convection can only microdose,
If u want a small portable one hitter with no harshness.
They not have the thermal mass convection need for bigger load, and the cooling it will require.

Something like bowle isn't "pocketable"... and people still step up temp and stirr with all those u gave

The reasons u love,.. cherish,... what am i saying... adulate your vapbong !
(Don't know if cyrano de bergerac "auxèse" (hyperbole gradation) can be use in english)

When i start vaping 10 years ago, i use the mflb without stem, then move to a crafty but i never use the cooling unit due to harshness, so i move to bubbler with it.
Convection need way more cooling for harshness than conduction

I have no idea what you're trying to say here, especially based off of what you quoted from me because it is totally out of my context?

Something like bowle isn't "pocketable"...

I never said the Bowle was pocketable, although it does fit fine in a hoodie pocket too, but I was using it as an example of a convection portable that can work fine with a larger load and no stirring at upper temps with minimal harshness...

and people still step up temp and stirr with all those u gave

People do that with everything, I don't know what your point is, some people do that with a conduction vape, and some people don't stir anything regardless, even a sticky brick, I really don't know what you're trying to say here... My point is you do not necessarily need to stir, whether you step up the temp, load more, or use whatever vape pocket or not...

The reason u love,.. cherish,... what i say... adulate your vapbong !

Sorry maybe it is the language barrier, not sure what you're trying to say here either! LOL

My vapbong, is one that I stir every single hit, I use upper temps and I load more than .1g like every time.... So I really feel like that only further disproves what I think you are saying :2c:

Check also the Impcognito. With the stock long stem heat is bearable.

Also if you are patient, the Nomad has an even longer stem.
Thanks for the feedback. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when looking online, it looks like an extension piece. Is it intended to go into other vaporizers, like the fury edge or utillian 620? It seems to be used in that way, but maybe I'm assessing it incorrectly.

No the imp is a 510 atomizer, you attach it to an e-cig mod box like the Wismec RX gen3 Dual, load custom firmware to set up temp control with the heater coil, then you vape using glass wood stems with basket screens that go into the wooden vape atomizer... If that makes sense? It is a nice option

And it's more a unwired desktop due to its size. OP ask small
What does one hitting have to do with anything? I responded to the statement that you made, not the one you just thought up. Lot of moving the goalposts going on here...

thanks for the feedback. I saw in another thread where you mentioned to a user that they should get a Wismec Sinuous P80 to accompany their impcognito. Do you see any drawbacks to this setup when compared to something that's more usable out of the box such as the tinymighty, aside from the initial setup, or is it superior all around?

With harshness, the main purpose of that thread... and what u quote from me, as all my post talk about harshness, and the only ways to reduce it is with no(or less) reheat and more cooling...

Which make me enlight the contradiction between portable and no harshness
