Easiest Edible Ever (EEE) aka Firecracker

Paperback Writer

So I tried to search and found some mention to the 'Firecracker'....But I wanted to share my version.

The way I was taught:

**preheat toaster oven to 320 (or 325)

1. You need two saltines with peanut butter applied. I use Skippy, but the more natural (oily) the better.

2. To start, try a small pinch of herb (fingertips only!!) on one of the saltines with pb, then sandwhich

3. Wrap each firecracker in foil. Place in oven for 22 min.

Allow to cool when done then enjoy

Notes:

-The orig recipe called for temp 320 for 22 minutes, but I have been going 25 minutes @325 with good results
-Start with just a pinch as mentioned above, then experiment to see how it hits you.

Everyone should know how to make these vs buying expensive edibles that often time dont have a well rounded effect due to distillate being used vs natural herb imo

I remember trying these back in college, we did use fresh greens back then before we got into vaping, although I absolutely hate peanut butter so we used Nutella instead and also graham crackers of course!

Another really easy way to make quick edibles that I like, is Bhang, just get some whole milk (chocolate milk ideal) and set it to boil then quickly simmer, throw in the weed and it is a quick infusion!

I'm going to try pre-wrapping bundles of avb and cheesecloth, kind of like tea bags, so I can make Bhang soon without having to filter out plant material... Will post how it went once I finally try, in a new thread?

I think I'll give this a try. I've got lots of abv. I'll also try it with some cbd flower that my wife doesn't like. It's very 'earthy' and she thinks it smells like rotten potatoes.

Reusable tea infuser will be easier than cheesecloth for Bhang. Lots of styles to choose from.

And yes, firecrackers take me back to college, too. I might have to make some again, too.

Yeah I was thinking something like that, I probably should invest, the thing is I want to use large quantities of avb because a lot of it is very old and also such varying degrees of extraction, largely to get rid of it though will also for strong edibles! All that CBD and converted THC can really leave you groggy the next day though... I got into some CBD flowers recently, but overall kind of meh on them even though one is nice and fruity. Also CBD tincture, that I'm not sure really does anything at all lol the rosin is easier to feel.

I want to try this recipe or similar, thanks, it would be my first proper edible not using just ABV.

Some good ideas there. I tried to make an ABV milk a couple of times mixing with instant hot chocolate after, and even tried a simplified microwave version.
I just threw it in and strained after but I was wishing for something like your ideas or a coffee strainer jug.
But I swirled up the little bit of dregs to drink them too!
It worked but I wanted to simmer it longer than I could,
Or another idea was to steep it all in the fridge for a few days first giving it the odd stir, bet that would make it a little stronger!
Look forward to hearing more if either of you have any success.

I have a ton of AVB I even purchased a Magical Butter machine for infusions. Only used it once so far. Also so far I have not been able to get any effects from edibles. Edibles I've tried from the dispensary are drinks, candies, and I've tried a chocolate bar. All did nothing for me. Something I think I read here is people with irritable bowel syndrome like me don't respond because of digestion issues?.

That is correct it's all based on body chemistry. Myself, get pretty lifted at 5 to 10 mg anything above that and I'm over in my personal limit. My brother can eat very potents treats and not feel a thing.

For me personally Avb makes me super sleepy and I don't enjoy the feeling so I use fresh bud. I also don't really like edibles from dispensaries because a lot of them use extracts and I much prefer full spectrum of the herb.

Maybe keep trying and see if anything changes. Do it on an empty stomach and then at a latter time try after you eat something and see what the effects are

The problem is I don't want to screw up my dosage and end up in the corner puking scared of my own shadow and thinking I'm gonna die....I've heard some stories. I like dabs and vaping flower because it's easy to control the dosage.

I use the AVB before going to bed, I WANT it to make me sleepy LOL! I have some water-washing right now, I haven't cleaned up my ABV in awhile so I've got quite a bit. A little cannacream and tuaca in my tulsi tea and I'm set for the night.

There is no way I would ever even consider eating the stuff without water cleaning it first LOL! You should see the horribleness that gets poured off. It reduces to about 1/3rd (I think, or was it to 2/3rds? LOL!) Anyway it reduces a whole lot, and it ends up sort of tan or straw colored, pretty close to odorless and tasteless.

I've never water cared before, I just add vanilla extract into the oil lol But I am curious, what would be a very simple way to do it, super low maintenance minimal steps and time? Can it as simple as packing the herb up in my cheesecloth, soaking it in water and straining, before then boiling them in the milk for the extraction infusion???

@Shit Snacks

The first time I did this, I used a flour sack cloth towel (used in real cheesemaking, this is real cheesecloth not that gauze stuff from the hardware store). I tied up a bundle of ABV in a round ball, about the size of a softball. I soaked it in warm not hot water, whenever it looked yucky I poured it off, rinsed the ball under a little warm running water, and soaked it again, rinse, repeat (literally LOL!). I gave it a good squeezey-twisty between soaks to wring out as much water as possible.

When the water was more or less clear, I untied the ball, spread it out and let it air dry which since I live in the desert doesn't take that long. It might be better to dry it off in the oven with the light on or set as low as possible, though frankly I don't trust low settings on ovens, they almost always run too hot. How to dry it back out after water washing depends on your local relative humidity. I stirred it up a few times but it was dried in about an hour, maybe actually a little less. You know, cuz desert.

Now I use a french coffee press. I got a small one thinking that I would regularly clean my ABV and then of course I didn't clean any for about 2 years so ... now I have a whole lot and it is taking a lot of time in my smallish french press. If I had it to do over, I'd buy a large capacity. You are never going to be worse off with extra capacity LOL!

Some instructions say to use distilled water but unless you live somewhere with a lot of dissolved solids in the water eg hard water, tap water should be fine. Well maybe. Apparently that depends on where you live and whether or not your local water company gives a crap about whether your kids are exposed to lead poisoning. But Detroit/Louisiana/Mississippi etc. level unsafe water aside, tap water is usually ok as long as it isn't too hard. If you have hard water it won't leach as much icky stuff out and may leave deposits of iron or calcium or whatever is in the tap water, so ... use distilled water if you have hard water or if your water comes through a "water softener". Either type of water has stuff in it that will interfere with the water wash.

Thanks for the thorough response my dude!

You had me at first, but then yeah it got into the too much work territory, I don't want to have to mess with undoing the bundle and trying out, only to rebundle to stick in the milk... I like the idea of the French press, and that better real cheesecloth sounds great, but I don't really need to go acquiring a bunch of new tools to do something like this, more of something to do because I have all the browns, not something to really invest in? Though it wouldn't be much...

Hmm I do like the idea of washing out any potential toxins though, we'll see maybe someday, unfortunately our water here in LA is super hard, also for some reason our kitchen tap is like cloudy white water that obviously makes me uneasy though we have been washing dishes in it! lol

It's really not that hard, mostly its just sitting there soaking. I change it twice a day until it lightens up then I change it once a day until it is close enough to clear for me.

It looks, smells, grinds, and mixes in better if its cleaned. It also tends to increase the potency because you are washing so much guck out, what's left is stronger per gram or whatever than without the wash. Potency per volume, kind of thing.

You don't undo the bundle until you're done with it and ready to dry it out. And if you're going to cook with it right away, you don't really have to dry it out, either, though if you're baking you might want to adjust the liquid in the recipe a bit. Though if you're baking - which I don't because diabetic - it mixes in a lot better if you dry it out and grind it to flour.

Actually it mixes in to nearly everything better if you grind it to flour.

*shrug* Well worth it to me. I just need to do it regularly rather than once in a blue moon LOL!

Haha yeah you've convinced me that it's definitely worth it, I am just oh so lazy, for this bhang milk in particular, but I'm probably going to have to try in the future. Appreciate you taking the time to explain it for me!!

well i just popped in here to say I made 4 EEE crackers!

The first 2 were made with (light) AVB. But i didn't wrap them in foil.
So i cooked up another batch of 2, with fresh herb instead of AVB!

After eating one, then two, in about two hours, I ended up eating the other 2.
So i ate 4 firecrackers in total.

i just realized that was a bad idea. Uh oh. and realizing that, was a bad realization. LMAO.
well i have CBD on hand if it gets too crazyy :science: :science:

UPDATE: sheesh i made like 8 firecrackers andthey all did nothing!
i tried the recipe in the beginning of the thread!
i tried another recipe in foil and decarbing first...
idk?

i am also too lazy for that LOL.

I'm not sure what happened. i definitely slept well, but i didn't feel like "i ate an edible."

Either my tolerance is sky-high...or i messed up the firecrackers 3 times?!
i have also gone LITERALLY insane (but for 4 hours lol) from an edible before,
so i know edibles work.

I am going to Google "firecrackers" and make the first recipe. Let's see...

-0.5g
-Crackers
-Peanut Butter

Decarb at 250F, 15 minutes, weed on a baking sheet.
Put weed on peanut butter cracker
Stir the weed in

Sandwich two crackers
Wrap in Foil
Bake for 20 minutes at 300F

Well I remember that like, Nutella is even better for example, because it has a higher fat content than peanut butter?... I bet this is the recipe we probably used in college though! (Also I fucking hate peanut butter more than anything personally lol)

And trust me the bhang chocolate milk is actually easier to do than the firecracker! You are literally just boiling some whole milk (you need to watch it bc once it boils it boils over quick, so you want to turn it down to simmer immediately) then add in your herbs, the infusion is pretty instant, and it also hits you faster because it is all liquid in my experience with slow metabolism at least...

oh? My herb is decarbing in the oven right now. Should i just throw it in some milk instead?
How long do i boil(simmer?)

EDIT:
I just have the worst luck!

I'm sipping on Bhang right now!...But there's a problem

the recipe called for three GRAMS of butter.
the recipe I USED was HALF A STICK of butter.
and i only used one cup of milk.

So when i said, "im sipping on bhang," what i meant was "i'm sipping on butter."
UGH! LMAO.

A half stick is fifty-six grams of butter...I think that will intoxicate me more than the THC

UPDATE
ithrew it out! too disgusting...yuckkkk.
i already drank a bit but just feel heavy and gross :(
Starting from square one!
Bhang #2

Last question!
Do i strain?? @Shit Snacks :)

Hahaha omg I'm so sorry, I don't know about decarbing, because I've never tried it really honestly, not something I really worry about especially if it's vaped weed it's already decarbed, mostly I've done bhang with used glass pieces for the vape oil, and just a little bit of fresh and a little bit of browns, so it was a simple process...

It's literally instant, once the milk has boiled and is simmering you just throw the stuff in, dip stir whatever, I let it sit in a little longer but like I said the infusion really is instant so that was not so necessary!

Also sorry that is super disgusting sounding to use butter LOL Yeah I didn't tell you to go Google a recipe, I told you to just use whole chocolate milk for the simplest and effective extraction without tasting like shit!

I think maybe you are overthinking it all, I'm someone who overthinks, but for making edibles I tend to think as little as possible maybe? The AVB coconut oil cake I made is not so good, but I've made fine crazy AVB vegetable oil pumpkin bars and cookies before...

The good news is the weed infused to the butter is probably going to be very effective and should get you pretty lit, it just sounds so disgusting :uhoh::lol::tup:

oh! I am using fresh herb not AVB :)
so far AVB has only made me tired,
so i'm looking for a full edible experience :)

I drank about 20 grams of butter before tossing it. 30 min ago.
So far i dont feel much...on to attempt #2!

this time i will decarb 0.3g
boil some milk
turn down the heat
simmer the herb in
...
Strain into a cup and drink!

Yeah my plan is to do it with AVB soon, but I have done it in the past with a mixture, trying to remember if I ever did it with all full fresh herbs... But even in the past one I've baked like that, yeah I never decarbed, probably did it wrong lol

I agree about how it makes you sleepy, also oxygen exposure turns stuff into a chemical that makes you sleepy, and yeah most of what is left is the high temp CBD to extract, I use a ton of AVB at a time when I cook though, so yeah they can be pretty intense and get you pretty groggy afterwards...

Haha Well in another 30 minutes you could be flying high from that butter, it should be a good extraction despite the disgustingness!

Yeah I guess that is a pretty small amount of herb, I never measure like that, and I usually use large quantities for edibles, I think when I've done it it's been more than that, but yeah it should work with a little bit, I guess that's part of the whole experimenting process though is getting the dosage right...

Sounds like a good process, with whole milk, that should work well, so just getting the amount right I think will be all you need to change variable wise now!
