Dreamwood Roasty

I got a rcv 14 in imbuia the taste is there.

However it's not consistent sometimes its aromatic more cinnamon and cardamom other times its more incense like and sometimes its a little taste of char if I run it on high wattage and other times I don't notice it at all.

Not sure what your sensitivity is but it was not a deal breaker, I have one in oak which is also great but definitely not aromatic.

I have an Olive roasty that actually tastes terrible and I am attributing it to being new. It is a common experience with new wood vapes. The flavor imparted by all the woods is a selling point for some. Eventually they all build up a layer of resin that masks a lot of the wood flavor.

Hey. I was literally just on their website thinking of ordering one of their imbuia wood ones. The wood’s taste is that noticeable?? I love the price and look of the imbuia but never even considered that a certain wood type may impart a noticeably bad taste...

Also, for those that own a Roasty, how much vapor is produced generally? Is it more like a Vapman where the taste is great but generally you don’t get a ton of vapor? Or do you get a decent cloud from the average hit off this thing?

The vapour is like a vapman on steroids but also clogged airflow. Used by itself it's almost like a cigar or something. But you get proper clouds. Requires a bit of technique though not to over-roast when you chase the clouds ha.

As for taste, I stand by my words :D generally I really enjoy cherry and walnut woods, they are almost slightly sweet/floral in their aroma. I'm sure the imbuia arse taste goes away/decreases over time, but you'll be sucking on the arse cigar for a while to get there  :brow:

Thank you for the replies, there’s so little user feedback with this vape so I really appreciate it.

One more question, about how many hits do you get per pack? Since this is manual heating and not too big a bowl is there the ability to extract the whole load in a hit or two with correct torching or is this gonna give me a handful of hits typically?

Thanks!

Happy to help out! So personally I like to savour my bowls for more than two hits. I usually end up with 5 or so on the roasty. You could likely get that down to 3, but you're likely ending with a very toasted flavour

The taste of my Olive Roasty was quite overwhelming, but it became way better. I still prefer my Grenadil and Zebrawood Roasties, but I use also happily the Olive one.

Hello,
i tested and validated a great combo : (home made) Roasty duo on sherlock!

I like the Roasty, it gives me some nice clouds in 2 or 3 hits. I prefer to use my dab's torch otherwise I have to heat for a long time with my single-flame. At the end, the Avb is brown dark. Little too dark in my opinion, i have to practice more, or test another torch?
I prefer the duo because i don't like so much the wood sensation on mouth (I tend to "drool" on the wood, don't you?)

Hey,
How do you use your roasty?
I get mixed results, sometimes with nice vapors and consistency and sometimes with a burnt taste. It requires attention because the accident is quickly arrived. I bought a triple flame torch to try other types of heating.
I made another custom body "roasty duo" out of boxwood with a pecked glass mouthpiece.

Nice! Unfortunately yeah I haven't used mine in ages, because of the technique involved, could not afford to burnt tastes either...

I only use my roasty through water in a water piece. I use a single flame torch that's probably about 1 to 1.25 inches long.

It produces some serious hits through glass.

@Shit Snacks the payoff is worth it once you get it dialed in. Dust off the roasty next time you get VAS! I haven't used my roasty in a few weeks.

Yeah mine is actually one of the first, sort of a beta, it is not tapered to fit into female glass unfortunately otherwise I probably would feel more enticed... Perhaps I can rig something up though! Yeah this design is still a pretty unique way to extract, that heavy pure conduction on demand!

Little by little, days after days, I refine my technique. The heating with my 3-flame torch is too powerful and brings me too close to combustion.

By taking my time and looking for slow extraction rather than fast, I manage to take advantage of its benefits: flavors, purity, use in session.

I launch by 2 heatings brought closer (so the glass doesn't cool too much), and without heating too much and too close! : the 1st hit is very tasty and the 2nd is always very complete. I mix once during the process.
I can make 5-6 hits by load. The avb comes out dark brown. I come out roasted.

I know there hasn't been a lot of activity here lately but thought I'd still ask, has anyone tried using this as a nectar collector?

I have a Roasty L Plus and the website says it can be used that way, but also says the glass heating tube should only be heated where the herbs are? I've never tried using it as a nectar collector in fear of breaking the heating tube, has anyone else tried this before?

I want to order one of these. They have currently 15% off in greendream

But can really decide on wether go S or L

Is the S too small only for microdosing? Is there a big difference in between the two of them? Anyone with both can post a comparisson picture?

Thanks

The blackwood Roasty in the image above is a mini that came as a bonus; I'm not sure they're for sale, but it's a nice microdose of a few hits.

The purpleheart one below is a small. For me it's not a microdoser, but could be I guess.

I have not seen a large one and I don't see the measurements, but my guess is they'd hold a good bit more than the small. The glass looks to be like DV diameter?

glass diameter difference between s(9mm) and L(12mm) is 3mm.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will take an S and maybe in the future an L if I like it.

And yeah, I dont think they make those like your blackwood any more. But I dont know, cause they have a few different ones. Maybe they are just sold out.

Yeah, i feel like the small is similar to a Dynavap, but with more puffs per load, maybe. It's a nice size, about what you'd expect.

The Mini was just a little freebie for ordering a Dynavap stem (that blackwood one); not sure they were ever listed for sale.

Anybody who has one of these use it for hash? I just ordered one because i was looking for an easy on-the-go vape for hash and this seems like it could work great, but im curious if anyone has real world experience.
