What was your vapcap progression?

acstorfer

Take My Money Dammit!
For those of us who joined the dynaverse what was your order of upgrades? This is not to say the M and a torch isn’t awesome. Everyone should have an M in their arsenal.

My order was this

2018 M - It came with a free titanium tip as a promo. I still have never tried a stainless steel tip.

Omnivap XL ti - I got it from the vape critic and I will always be grateful to Bud. I gave away my M to pass the karma. This is now my permanent concentrates device.

2020 M - I never actually used it, but I did use the body as my Omnivap stem. It had much better airflow.

Dynavap OG - I use it only for the tastiest of tasty. I’m a bit paranoid over breaking it. It’s a special occasion thing. The taste is amazing!

Simrell Vortex - This is probably where my snobbery began.

Alpine 2020 - Even with all the numerous QC issues it was a bargain for $80.00. After getting it I knew I was never using a torch again.

7 Fin LE titanium tip - My snobbery complete.

Portside Mini - Hits much quicker and stronger than the Alpine. The Alpine is only now used when my PSM is charging.

Bought a 2019 M and 3 torch.
Loved it, but not the torch.
Bought an Apollo 2.
Wanted an Omni XL.
Couldn't justify the price outright.
Made my ultimate over a few months: Omni XLS with titanium mouthpiece.
Bought the glass aristocrat stem after burning myself with the Omni - too many hits in too rapid succession had the vapour burn my lip.
Got a 2018 M tip and filed some air grooves.
Not groovy.
Got another Ti tip for the aristocrat.
Hallelujah!
Got a single flame torch.
Very nice.
My eyes aren't great and I struggle with the torch in daylight.
So, during the day at home the IH, and on the move the 3 torch.
Quite time in the early am the single torch.
Love all my vapcaps. Base model, my idea of the flagship, and a DD.

Got the Glass OG when it came out and often combusted with it. Gave a chance to the first “M” they came out with, was it 2018? I’d say it was earlier. I came to realize that the “higher” high people get with VC is from getting close to pyrolysis/combustion. Or a at least that’s what I was getting at the time. I tend to reach higher temperatures with all my vapes, so with VC I scorched my load quite often. Having to clean the unit after combusting wasn’t fun, as well as the permanent couch lock feeling.
I also got a titanium tip and never tried it.

I think there was a model M before 2018.
I feel about the same as you. But I have to say my 2020 M combusts less easy than the 2018. I think every vapcap is a bit different, maybe every cap. And I am a bit lazy to pin my technique down... I am not really getting friends with the draw restriction too. But that is personal preference.
I will try mine for traditional hash if the occasion arises.

It is great to hand to smoking people, as they seem to like more the heavy effects of a hot vapcap. And it reminds them somehow of cigarettes, joints or a smoking experience.

P.S. Got me a Hula Stem V2 (glass) and a dynacoil at a moment

I was deciding on what vape to get when I saw the vapcap. I was looking at the glass one, and when I decided to get it- it disappeared! It was replaced

by the M. That's my first. I have many now, and I prefer glass stems but, the Simrell Vortex has caught my eye. I also added to my collection, with an

Ed's Wood Scent and I had phattpiggie make a beautiful IH. Most of my collection involves ways to use a vapcap. I am quite comfortable with it, and I

would say it is my daily companion. It is a great product, always innovative and indestructible. It has such a cool creative group of artesian making

stems and all kinds of accessories, really great!

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
I'll try to remember as I was high for a lot of it.

Started when George began showing off the new Ti woodies as they were called. Got one of those and one of the 14mm wooden gongs that Ed started making. Both fitted with the second gen Ti tips which were still being outsourced. The concept and wood was nice, but those tips were like sucking a mikshake through a bar straw. And I sucked with the torches. Burnt, hot, not pleasant.

Then got a 19M tip. Increased airflow, and gave up the torches for the world of @Pipes which made all the difference.

All kinds of other stems and tips since then. Rather not have the airholes. Right now, my DD's are a 19M tip in a sleeveless wooden dynacraft - so nice and light, and another 19M tip in a little finger glass gong for concentrate use. All through a PSM, but I keep a caldron in the workshop.

Really grew to love vapcaps and induction heaters.

I too began with the OG To Woody, mine was African blackwood by Ed's TnT with a steel ring added by George making it one of a kind... (also an at the time special zebrawood dynastash) Unfortunately this didn't stop it from cracking, and I didn't have the best luck with it, so I eventually sold it to my man @stark1 (but kept the stash of course). However before I sold it I did order one of the OG omnivap as an omnivong (cocobolo Ed's wong) along with the OG OG all glass vapcap... Well once again I didn't have that much consistent luck with the Ti tip, even with the proper omni body and the extra variables it adds, maybe partially because of? In any case I sold that to @stark1 as well, separately later on.

So now I just have the OG all glass VapCap for my collection, it gets used very rarely, once in a blue moon for fun, typically through water... Now that I have a vapman+station I can appreciate the appeal of the induction heaters even more, along with my disdain for torches these days, so I probably should be grabbing an M or something with one of those nice heaters (research needed) someday maybe, but eh, honestly I guess I'm just not so into the VC ritual and vapor? though I do respect it!

I am totally new to the dynaverse but recently I got tempted by the idea of not having to depend on electricity as well as the simplicity of the Simrell Vortex stem and its buy it for life attitude. So I decided to treat myself. I ordered a WPA as well, to use with my Quiver Summit. It's a piece of glass similar to sneaky Pete's strong arm, but from a UK vendor. Hope it'll fit. They happened to have two Nonavong on offer for 75 gbp as well. Add a discount code and it became a steal, especially since it comes with the titanium tip and a cap. (I had ordered the simrell without.) Lastly I came across the dynacup which seemed reasonably priced and offers the portability and swappable battery system an ih should have on board for me, so I got one coming my direction. Can't wait to try it all out!

Lost my vape virginity to my 2018M which was my first ever vape experience. Passed that on to my brother in law, who uses it as his DD.

Then got the 2019M which I love but somehow my sister has ended up with it.

So I'm rocking the 2020M. I've got a BB9 stem which gets an A+ for flavor, an assortment of DIY wood stems, but my favorite is my carb less stem from his royal majesty, The King of Quince.

+ A dozen torches and a DIY IH to round it all off. :spliff:

I was trying to vape with a Solo but it didn't do it for me, still smoking.
Decided I would try a butane vape and was planning of the Lotus.
The 17 M was released and I ticked my box so I bought one, have not wanted to smoke since then. My first and only torch lighter is a Blazes Fire Fox, I love it and would replace it with another in a heartbeat.
Around the time the 18 M was released I decided I needed a backup because I realized not having an M would be a tragedy of biblical proportions so I bought the 18 M.
Vapcaps are to short for me so I added a Ti spinner, still to short. 115 mm is about minimum length I can use comfortably.
I don't use the airport period.
Stems I use now are custom, I have a couple of @TommyDee that I absolutely cherish. They are drop dead gorgeous works of art and have a special place in my heart, form function and Tom's generosity make them irreplaceable treasures.
I also have SS and SS lined carbon fiber stems I fabricated that I enjoy using.
For the last few months I've used an alcohol lamp also self made.
I expect the torch will see little use in the future, love the lamp.
I got a tip, cap and coil set a couple of days ago, the web image showed a 18 M but the tip is actually a 19 M, I haven't decided if I'm okay with that yet, It remains unused for the moment.
Tried a few oil rigs, didn't care for the effects or maintenance.
Since its release in 2017 I have used only vapcaps. I now have everything I want and/or need.

VAS, yeah that's not a thing.

Vapor Dreams
I got a 4th gen Ti woody xls around 2017, months later there was that 20 dollars/dynavapM crazy sale. I bought 5 of them and a Dynastash, sold 4 to friends and got my M and the stash for free. Later on I bought a Woodscents which came with a Ti tip and wooden body. I still use my OG Ti woody most of the time when using native. With glass the first M tip is my best choice and for the woodscents too. The newest Ti tip I have doesnt really tick on me and is mostly unused.

Bad Dog

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
Bought a 19 m used on kijiji and instantly fell in love, I had only grabbed it to use when my crafty was charging but it completely replaced it. I liked the ritual of the lighter and the effects of those roasty high temp hits but I was still new to vaping and wanted to tame the vapour a bit so I decided to pick up a strong arm adapter and loved it, then a titanium tip and Dyna coil. I appreciated the less restrictive draw and flavour of the titanium and never felt the need to upgrade from there until they come out with a next generation omni but I did buy a first generation apollo off vape critic and haven't looked back at the torch very often since. Up until recently I was still using it daily but right now it lives at my cousins place while he is experimenting with vaping. I'm currently on the waiting list for a flux deluxe to replace my apollo that is beginning to malfunction, hopefully it lasts till then 😬 But I might pick up a new titanium tip and wpa to keep at my place when I get the flux deluxe and maybe grab a caldron or psm to keep at my cousins. Not having my Dynavap setup around for quick middle of the night wake ups has been a bit of a drag and I miss it for mega micro dosing during the day. There's a hole in my lineup that only a Dynavap can fill..........

Here is mine:

Pax2 maybe around 2015. Didn't quite understand or get it, preferred rolling papers or a bowl.
Coffee shop guy near work got me into about the Crafty. Looked into it and in 2019 purchased the Mighty. I thought I wanted a portable, which could have been Pax2, but first glimmers of VAS, got the Crafty+.

Running it at max and thoughtless, became curious and started to google about, changed the temperature down to 160 of my Crafty+ to have a day vape at work.

One or two months ago found some Reddits with mention of FC, and that was it for me.

-Ti-Woody XLS with cocobolo stem purchased in 2016, complete with 4th gen 7-fin titanium tip.
-Got a spinning titanium mouthpiece for it as soon as they were released. Sold the wood MP.
-Got a carbon fiber XL stem for it. Sold the woody stem.
-Got a Omnivap XL stem, the latest version. Sold the carbon fiber stem.
-Got a Simrell Vortex ti stem + intercooler. Sold the Omnivap stem and the spinning mouthpiece/condenser tube.

Simrell stem + 4th gen 7-fin Ti tip = DynaVAS cured. This piece will never be for sale. Even when I die. It's going into the coffin with me.

I gotta find that picture of all the caps lined up. I thought I had 2nd gen Ti tips on my woodie but yours had a 4th gen? I found my invoice and had picked up my woodie in dark blackwood in February of 2016. George said in the email that it would have the "new and improved Ti tip" and it might have been his second drop of woodies. I got the Ed's tnt gong two months later. Both tips look the same.

The wood on the woodies were pretty thin, and similar to some others, mine began to split on one end. George provided the metal caps to cover and help reinforce the ends. I believe they later came with the caps on both ends. Mine only had a cap where the tip inserted.

Ed's gongs were made of much thicker wood. Also made out of blackwood, it has a sweet, sleek look to it and is a work of art.

This piece will never be for sale. Even when I die. It's going into the coffin with me.

That's bad ass

Less soul, more mind
I'm not even sure what made me buy my first Dynavap, but I remember that I couldn't imagine using such a thing when I saw my first review of it. To me it seemed to be a emergency backup device at best.

Then came the M18, probably because at some point I was simply curious enough to give it a shot for 75 bucks. All the hype etc., I wanted to be enlightened. And that day I smoked my very last joint. So yeah, we were off to a good start.

Only a month later or so I got myself an Omni XL, not expecting too many improvements, but soon enjoyed the extra length and cooler handling.

Next leap forward: a Mag Heater Professional induction heater.

Then I got lucky and won a Turbo Twist at a Dynavap live show. That's actually a very nice piece, makes for a very different DV experience.

Then came →two custom stems by @khelek41girl / KGWoodcrafts. Incredible pieces.

And finally the →Mag Heater Slim Automatic, a temp controlled induction heater.

So far and for the past 2 years, a NonaVong XLS. I want a 2020M but am waiting for a OmniVAP XL to come out first before deciding which way to go.

Definitely want a stainless steel tip to be honest. Ti works no problem but I find myself doing multiple cycles in a row, and since SS retains heat for longer, it will mean I can basically take 2 long hits per cycle instead of 1 long hit as I can with the Ti. Will save time heating, and also butane (no interest in ever getting IH. Been using torch/flame since the beginning and no problems and complaints with it).

The Ti's screens also are very flimsy and repositioning them just is hard. They'll frequently pop out completely and I have to re-insert them several times before I can finally get it to go on the smallest bowl setting. I hope the SS screens are sturdier so adjustments are easier/less frustrating.

So I think, unless with a new OmniVAP release the Ti tip will be significantly redesigned, my next one will be a 2020/(21)M

Started with Omni XL because I didn't realize they were all basically the same. I thought it had to be much better since it cost so much more than the M. I was very new to the vape scene then. I remember being pissed that my 200.00 vape was rolling around in a Fed EX envelope with some green plastic tube (it had burst open) they had thrown in with my package. I didn't know when I ordered it they shipped in a plastic tube. I was expecting some nice presentation but there it was by itself at the bottom of the Fed Ex envelope.

Next was two custom stems from Winegums. Bought a custom case from Winegums.

Followed up by 4 custom glass stems from Glass Charlie and one Glass Charlie stem through Vgoodiez. If you want glass dynavap stems this is an excellent choice.

Bought some china glass stems form Sneaky Pete to give out as gifts.

Bought a blackwood double crown stem from PIU. Bought a Paduak mouthpiece from PIU to go with it. They look nice together.

Bought a wood tip from Dynavap. It was cocobolo, was real interested in the multi color of this wood. Unfortunately the cocobolo one was a real disappointment when compared to their website photo, all one dark brown color, nothing to distinguish it form any other brown piece of wood.

Bought an Eds TNT log to use with DynaVaps AND he makes you a stem out of the material he made your log out of. Cool purchase.

Bought 3 of the special edition caps that have 4:20 clock on top. The last one I purchased the dynavap order taker told me I was lucky it was their last one. I wasn't lucky. It does not work, never has clicked once, still sits here unusable. This would mark a series of disappointments with QC of the dynavap caps. I have bought 4 caps since then. Three of them are loose as hell. You can squeeze them into ovals until the cows come home, two of them remain loose. It is an annoyance to me that I have to reshape a $25 part. I've never contacted them or returned them. I am absolutely certain with their excellent customer service reputation they would have taken care of me. Unfortunately for me I'm the type of customer that doesn't complain I just go away.

Bought four portside minis. One was for me three were Christmas gifts. Three of them are still running after two years. The fourth was dropped on concrete and the glass shattered otherwise I am confident it would still be in use..

After I bought the IH I discovered maybe I actually liked using a torch instead. Bought too many torches, a few of them in the over $100 range. The one I like best? I simple $8 Honest torch.

Gone through two Eds TNT glass 14mm beaded glass WPA because glass eventually breaks

Bought a custom @ Simrell stem and matching case. Questioned why I keep buying cases when I don't use them.

At Champs, early 2020 Las Vegas, phattpiggie gave me his personal stem. This is the coolest stem I have. Swirly wood, which I love, a couple of classy black and silver accents. The neatest thing about this one, besides it just looks exquisite, is that the stem is square not round. The squareness actually makes it very easy for your fingers to spin it when torching. It seems common sense that round would be better for spinning but it is not. With the square edges your fingers easily grip and spin without any slippage.
