Looking for the most efficient, "bong-like" Vape

Hi,

so I got a Plenty a few weeks back, and genereally speaking, have enjoyed the unit a great deal.

Unfortunatly, i cant get the Plenty to fully work for me, I consume about twice the amount i needed previously ( i am also "higher", but that is not necesarilly the desired effect ).

I was a long time Bong smoker before (weed+tobacco mix) , which is why i went for the Plenty. Big powerful draws seemed very appealing, and did hit the mark, effect wise. But always having to load sooooo much into the bowl just goes through my supply too quickly. I tried the reduced chamber and didnt like it all, and am now going to part ways with my plenty, since a friend is going to buy it (he's a ex- joint smoker, and its the perfect unit for him, same amount of material, same session length, comparable draws )

I've been looking into several new options, especially a Log Vaporizer or the CloudEvo seem to be something more suited towards the ex bong smokers.

Any suggestions/ideas/tipps from long time vaporists? I will probably need to go back to combustion for the time being, but i really hope i find a alternative that fits my ideas better.

I'm from europe, so unfortunately not every log is available to buy, actually most aren't, or come in combination with pretty significant taxation/shipping.

Thanks a bunch

Hey man! Welcome to the forum.I have not tried many desktops except a Volcano and a log but generally desktops are not as economic with herbs as portables. Logs are the exception but I am not sure if you will get that bong feeling you are after...

From what I read around here (and I read a LOT for the last 6 years) I think you are after a Supreme³! It's flame powered, preferably with a big torch lighter or even a plumber's torch but it is powerful and is portable. One hit bowls with as much as you like? I am hearing it's bread and butter for the Supreme! Check out its thread! Guys there will make you understand. Vids as well...

You nailed it. The EVO with a hydrotube is a beast and the closest I have found to a bong hit. You can get really thick vapor and its pretty dang efficient with your herb. Wonderful even extraction. My go to vape when I want a quick, hard session.

Now a log vape is also a grand idea. I have an Enano, like it a lot, and this is one of THE most efficient vape for herb (along with the VapCap). Ground herb, whole nug, rough hand torn, it doesn't matter. Get the adjustable basket screen stems and gongs and make your chamber size what you want. Not as hard hitting, IMO, as the EVO but you can leave them on all day long and just hit it when the mood strikes. Really like my Enano.

EVO with HT is a bit expensive but well worth it to me. The Enano is at a better price point and will eat up any herb you put in it very efficiently. Both great, that's why I bought both (hint LOL).

@Baron23 : The e-nano will cost only about a 100$ less, since i would need to import it, would that put the EVO even more ahead in you opinion?

@natural farmer : Portability is not really an issue, and I really want to avoid using a torch if possible, but i'll have a look into it, thanks !

EVO is a heavy hitter. When I use mine it usually in the evening because it's too hard of a hitter for me during the day. I need to get stuff done! :rockon:I bought mine with the Hydrobomb. It can be used with water or without. Another vote for the EVO. It uses more product than my Enano though. I think one of the best features is the glass nail for concentrates.

I use my Enano more than my EVO. I use my Milaana a lot it's like a portable log vape. A hard hitter too. It works well with water tools as well.

Edit
I leave my Enano on and out 24/7. My EVO is pretty big I need to keep it put away when I'm not using it. I paid about $350 for my EVO and Hydrobomb. The pair were on sale. I use more cannabis when using my EVO. The Enano is a miser with weed. Both units give excellent vapor flavor.

Take a look at the LSV from 7th Floor (often described as a log on steroids) I am a fan and not totally objective on the recommendation but it woks for me when I am looking for a powerful heater vape with large capacity that can churn out some big vape hits BUT because its non combustion I can't get burning bong hits no matter what I try. The LSV takes a little getting used to because there are some of the usual basic vape concerns to deal with like heat settings, draw rates, how the bud is prepared (grind, cure dryness, etc) and how you set up the piece with or without glass , etc, etc, etc. Not trying to sound like I know anything (I don't) but a few vape basics can go a long ways. Good Luck in your search.

I love my Enano...but if I had to pick between the two...with bong like production....the EVO with HT all the way and never look back.

Also, both VapeXhale and Epic have great customer service. I know you will buy local in Europe (??) from a retailer and they are generally very good about CS and warranties also, but nice to know that in both of these cases the companies involved seem to be mature and really understand CS, CS support systems, and CS communications.

Thanks for all the answers so far, something im still wondering about, will the EVO work with amounts around 0,1 - 0,05 ?
Its fine if i just get one or two hits of that, material will only go so far, but the plenty just always required me to pack at least 0,25 and then sit there getting baked for 5+ minutes... And even if i was getting SUPER stoned, after 45-60 mins i would just crave hitting it again, because this was my pattern for years and years.

Yes, the EVO will work well with .1 - .15 g. IMO .05 is a bit light for the EVO (others may disagree). One of the great things about log vapes and the Enano is you can indeed load .05 all day long and it thrives on small loads.

High,

as owner of an Evo, Log Vapes and a Supreme I think I would also suggest you the Supreme from what you are describing (craving hits again after certain time) and the similarity to my expirience.
The Supreme gives me a deep Bong like hit satisfaction where the other two options also give me great vape experiences but not quit that Bong hit feeling :D
Now, as stated, the others are great vapes too and honestly I enjoy rotating to much but the Supreme see most use when in search for that effect :)

For me all 3 vapes work good with loads between 0.5 and 0.25 but techniques might need some adjustment for different load sizes. The respective threads offer loads of information on those.

I was recently able to convince a swiss shop to sell the Supreme too, so as a European you might want to check www.vapesndabs.com before ordering in the US but I believe there is VAT on top of it for you from switzerland so better double check which option is best for you.
They also offer the Evo now :D

Enjoy the search for your perfect vape, I still do :D

I find that bag vapes behave similar to bongs as they let you take that hug rip all at once. More like a third lung if I think about it.

Again, thanks for all the Answers guys! Maybe I should clarify a bit what i meant by "bong like", its not necesarilly about water tool etc, its more about that i just can take a small (quick?) hit, and then go on with my daily business. My previous and soon curent routine are smoking around 1 - 1,5 g a day though a bong, which gives me like at least 20-25 hits a day. Now, i can scale that down a bit, but the plenty basically forced me to scale this to more like 5 sessions per day, which left me super stoned and unproductive AND craving just a small hit in between sessions.

Concerning the Supreme:
It doesnt really appeal to me as my main unit, maybe as a back up later, but the pricing for what is, basically, a thermometer and some metal is pretty insane... Also, the torch aspect is a turn off.
If it was a powered Unit, I could get behind the price, or even a bit more.

Concerning the EVO:
There are good european offers for it, and it seems like an all round solid machine, that gets a lot of bang for your buck BUT I dont like how easy it is to break that thing and would prefer a more modular setup...

...which brings me to my newest discovery, The herborizer (probably TI):

From what i can see, it really looks like it very close to what i want, letting me stretch my material pretty close to as much as I want over the day, while seeming like a efficient, home unit.
Big Plus is also the european/french manufacturer, which just makes warranty etc a whole deal easier.

VapCap !!

Dynavap products are really interesting, and I think it would please you !
and Customer Service is GOLD!
..

Or the Herbo Ti !;)

I have the Basic Herborizer, recently upgraded to XL; and it's still a pleasure to use!
Clearly more a session vape than the quicky VapCap !
Have also recently bought the Herbo Ti at it release. What. A. Bomb. :whoa:
It is beautiful, and hit really strong! I must tell I'm sometimes afraid to light it up !
Here too, Customer Service is good, Sebastien is really listening customers

They are the two vaporizer I've kept
(Well, I've a Pipe's Project coming on too ! )

This post is clearly not objective.
And was way too hard to write. Thanks Herbo Ti and bomb ass Afghan hash ! :haw:

That would have really helped focus this discussion in the right direction. When you say "bong like" it implied, to me, that you wanted a water tool experience. The DynaVap gives you what you want, except it needs a heat source and you say you do not want to use a lighter or torch, so probably a log vape that you can leave on 24/7 might be the best way to go.

The E nano was the first thing i wanted to buy, before the plenty, but importing is not only costly, but also, and i know this from experience, german authorities will trash any electronic consumer devices that does not come with a CE Seal. So I'm very hesitant about ordering one, since it might just end up as 300+€ for some nice chats with the "Zoll" about why I'm ordering weed para from america with no CE certification.

Well, the water tool just isnt the highest priority, it would be a nice extra, especially if it works really well or is even designed for it, but my main concern is definetly efficency and the required/optimal bowl size of the unit. I just dont want my vape to decide for me how much i NEED to vape in a session, and i dont want to let unfinished bowls sit, since i felt you got much less out of it after cooling off.

As I mentioned before, I can adjust my patterns for conuming some, and going from 30-40 hits in a bong to maybe 15-20 ( in an evo/herborizer/whatever with .1 loaded for each session i.E. ) is something i think would work for me, but just being able to vape 5-6 sessions per day with the plenty just didnt fit my needs, which is why my " MJ consumption/work output " rate kind of plummeted xD

Yeah the Plenty is definitely a "weed hog" that's why I will never own one. I still think EVO would be a great choice for you. Even when used dry, the vapor is soooo tasty and supple, its definitely an awesome experience unique to the EVO. I don't think it is as fragile as you think. Most breakage occurs when people let water run down into a hot bamboo thus causing it to break from thermal shock. And yes you don't want to drop it onto concrete or tile floors from counter height or higher. But the liquid crystal polymer case is actually extremely robust. Bamboos can be quickly replaced for a modest fee. The only thing you might not like about EVO is the warm up time, however, this can be compensated for.

If electronics is an issue, I say go for the Vapcap. You may find you love the freedom from batteries and cords. Yes, you heat a Vapcap with a lighter but it heats up in just a few seconds, really. The ritual is enjoyable and you never have to think about plugins. This is an off grid vape that will work when the lights go out. You can even use a candle.... or a stick from a campfire.

International shipping is just $13. I have placed several large orders and have not incurred customs fees. The Dynavap team have the greatest customer service you can imagine. They will make sure you're taken care of.

Well, the water tool just isnt the highest priority, it would be a nice extra, especially if it works really well or is even designed for it,

Titanium tipped Vapcaps are fully modular. You can switch from a straight body to VonG in a couple of seconds with no tools.

my main concern is definetly efficency and the required/optimal bowl size of the unit.
This is where the Vapcap shines. It is extremely efficient with your herb or concentrate. I vape through the day every few hours. My loads are around .015 gms. You will save money on your weed for sure.

This is my typical load. I just tear a tiny nug off a flower and pop it in. No need to grind or fuss about. You can have a smaller load or a much larger load. The Vapcap will do them all. This is a personal vape IMO.
bkXXb9h.jpg

The ti tipped herb chamber has three screen settings so you can adjust your bowl size.

This pic shows the herb chamber set at the highest setting on the left and the right one is set at the lowest setting. Pop in a nug, heat and toke and your high in less than a minute.

Also shown is part of a Dynastash; a stash to hold your herb and your Vapcap. A Blackwood VonG body with a Cocobolo mouthpiece is below the stash.

@skaav - Surprised you were not pleased using the Plenty with the reduced chamber. Works for me. Don't own an Evo, but have a Grasshopper. Same size clouds as GH given same 20-30 draw, but I mod my use with the GH for cooling. Plenty has that covered. GH takes effort from you to draw. Effort required from Plenty is opposite -- slowing down the open draw. I do not like the Plenty's sheer bulk and cord, however. Several Plenty posters have moved on, especially to the EVO. Seems like my positive experience with the Plenty's reducer system is unusual. Some prefer draw resistance. It's a different, more relaxed, 20-30 second draw that gets results from the Plenty with small loads.

I own a GH and love it but don't recommend it until I see GH clear their shipping backlog and improve reliability. Great that they are on top of warranty actions, but I still think this vape needs to stablize a bit before I can recommend it in good faith.

But .1 g max just about, 5 second warm up, and terrific extraction makes the GH a winner if it were only more robust. Mine has been perfect for about 8 months, but I baby it and it only drops into the rotation about once per week or so. GH on a 14mm female joint on a WP is wonderful and very EVO like in vapor density, but the EVO is THE BEAST!

I just dont have the feeling im Getting my Material as Vaped as with the regular chamber, ESPECIALLY with the liquid pad, the liquid pad Kinda kills the reduced chamber, while i find the regular one is barely Usable without.... But maybe im just a moron an have been packing it wrong (pack it Petty right, Medium/Fine grind)
