Please help w/ vaporite twin

hey there i am new to vaping, and i have to ask y havent i been doin this and y isnt everyone? its so much better...anyways, i picked up an older vaporite twins vaporizer, and although it works great, i am a medical marijuana patient and i generally smoke alone. The model i have turns both elements on when u turn it on. my question is is there a way i can safely either disconnect one of the heaters or install a switch? if anyone has any ideas, id really appreciate it. and i do have some electrical experience, so i am not a novice to working on electronics
