That might have been me. Now that I have the Rev C VRod head and a 28.55 SiC dish... the wax container no longer fits over the dish! Looks like that .05mm is pretty significant... I hope whoever was talking with the lampworker has mentioned the new sizing.

They keep me pretty happy! I still think I need a good, small, battery powered portable (the Nomad is the one I really want), but beyond that right now it would just be trying something different rather than filling a real hole. If the FlowerPot fit in my pocket without burning me I’m not sure I’d really need anything else! :freak: :D

In my experience, the Argo is as cool as the VROD Bundle in that its well thought out and designed. Small, portable . I love to use it on my long distance bicycle rides!

I've been loving convection dabs so much, I bought some might/crafty liquid pads and stuck them in the FP bowl. Doesnt fit perfectly but it completely covers the hole below even on the 18mm. They work great. I got like 4 full pulls at 700 with the carb cap from smearing like .15 of live resin across the pad. Nice and stoned now and a lot less work than setting up a flower bed and plopping the right amounts of live resin in the right spots IMO.

I know this is probably useless to a lot of you since I'm sure you love your sic dishes and quartz but it is easier on my throat for sure

Been daily dabbing (and often all day) for 3/4 years now. Bongs have no effect on me, but the little experience I had with the Vrod with my broken controller made me super high. Really excited to get my new controller - I do plan on 1) cutting back in general 2) switching mostly to flower. I think the FP is the perfect tool for that, and experimenting with that is going to be fun!

Honestly, if you really do have a high tolerance, you should be fine to begin using concentrates, make sure to always start small, and I can directly speak to this because I've had two days experience with the Vrod NV SiC and can say it's got devastating effects when "twaxing".

But I'm not sure how evenly the dish is heated. Maybe there's something else going on that I haven't figured out yet, all I know is what's going on now. Using a laser temp gun, while my controller is on 750 (710life enail, reverse thread Vrod) it shows the surface temp of one side of the dish (where the coil enters) to be ~140F, and the direct opposite to be ~390F. Seriously a crazy discrepancy, also below the proper boiling point of terpenes. Still though, it seems to dab just fine, just doesn't seem to produce as much vapor as a quartz domeless enail, just seems like you're working a lot more to get full vaporization. My #1 speculation is that the coil isn't making full contact with the ramp underneath. I could be completely wrong, and I'm not sure how to check it because once the pieces are screwed together there's no wobbling or sliding going on, and seems in fact very solid. Anyone's advice or ideas on this issue are more than welcome! Anyone else use a laser gun to check the surface of the dish you're dabbing on, I think with all the other variables we could use that to help narrow things a bit. Or do you guys think that laser temp guns are worthless bs? For comparison btw, my daily drivers were the aforementioned domeless normally at 640 for trates and the FF2 for flower and I've laser temp gunned the quartz domeless at 400F.

None of this has mentioned the Vrod's performance for vaping flower, which there is no contest for those of us who own either a Vrod or SH. No vape holds a candle to this, in build quality fit and finish, as well as functionality. This is an amazing piece of work, but I do wish the dish got hotter and evenly. Maybe I haven't figured out the correct temp yet - perhaps heating it super hot and then letting it drop would be the best, that ensures the dish gets evenly heated to perform so no pooling occurs. At the moment it looks like a cast iron has gotten seasoned, and it will get a cleaning tomorrow first thing. Another thing is for sure, the FF2 will take a permanent back seat to the Vrod.

Huge props, tremendous respect to the New Vape inventors and team - true craftsmanship.

Shhh! Dont mention the Nomad, I'm happily ignoring that I REALLY WANT ONE RIGHT NOW! ;)

I think the only 'upgrade' I want next is to make my pipes project mod a bit more stable. I think the Nomad answers that call. Damn that thing is sexy as hell.

Anyway. Shut up. It doesnt exist. Its a myth.

You’re only a little wrong about its existence...maybe it’ll help you put it out of your mind for a while if you remember there’s a waiting list and it could be a while before you could buy one even if you wanted to, otherwise I’d already have one!*

I keep making it less likely that I’ll get ahold of one any time soon by promoting it all over FC and adding to the waiting list...

At least you can console yourself with that “FlowerPot” thing I hear you have. All the kids are raving about it’s looks and performance too!

*For anyone who’s lost, the Nomad is a small, 18650 powered, unregulated convection portable that’s hand-made by @Dan Morrison , and while the FlowerPot is a great looking vaporizer with an industrial style, I think the Nomad easily wins as the best looking in a more organic style.

If anyone’s really interested, I recommend looking at recent pictures of some of the released pieces and then reading the whole thread to watch how it developed.

    http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-nomad-from-morwood.21143/

Sorry to talk so much about another product in the FP thread, but it’s not really in the same category of vapes and I think it’s something worth at least checking out, even just for the art aspect. I’ll refrain from posting pictures here though. ;)

But I don't know why my "Möbel" tags are listed at the Nomad pinboard :hmm:

When I go the the pinboard it isn't shown.

    Back to FP stuff...

Just ordered the 18mm Female Rig - Large Base (9110) Sidecar glass.

I bought the VROD Bundle with the 12.5" Stereo Matrix Rig Flat Top (9301). But because of the placement of the mouthpiece, I cant see the vapor filling the glass. I like to see it so I know how milky it is and when it fills the glass so I can then take the hit. Since Im learning to control the vape with draw speed, FP temp and weed dampness, seeing the vapor is extremely helpful.

But until I get it, vaping with the 12.5" Stereo Matrix Rig Flat Top (9301).

getting ready to place another order..

thinking about adding a Ti heater coil post because the SS one i have (revision 2 longer base) is now sticking so bad i can pick up the whole base with the showerhead and move it around, bang it on the table and such..

    https://streamable.com/czx52

this just started happening within the past couple weeks, it never stuck this bad originally. the v-rod on the other hand, i cant even get unstuck unless i turn the e-nail off and let it cool first.

my question.. those with Ti heater posts do not experience any sticking correct? its only the SS posts that exhibit the problems? because if the Ti post still produces sticking, i may just come up with my own solution instead.

    thanks all!

I’ve had absolutely 0 sticking on the newer ti post. That said my SH, WA and VROD have never stuck on the original ss or ti posts. I think the showerhead did once but the way the cables folded and sits on the desk seems to sit it flat on the post anyway

I have the new VRod Bundle and have experienced no sticking at all of the VROD to the Ti post.

Just ordered a replacement Ti post from Vapefiend and noticed they now accept Bitpay
I can see me paying for future orders with Bitcoin now, thanks @VapeFiend.com :)
Now if only they'd hurry up and stock the VROD Sic dishes too ;)

The dish temperature/even heating/etc was my only issue with the VROD as well. Going to switch back to my SH for a good week or so and see if I notice the 'metallic' taste when doing concentrates. I never noticed it before BUT I always heard that once you use the SIC dish for awhile, the titanium taste becomes apparent... If I don't notice it, I may end up selling the VROD head and SIC dish and make way for a dedicated concentrate setup like I see many doing.

Side note, anyone have the dedicated concentrate setups from NV?

Exercise is a great way to control ones tolerance. Endorphins and THC combined is a great combo.

If you're not active your body will build a tolerance faster and the high will be boring.

Yes, explicitly confirming this. In my case, I had a SS heat post which was okay with the ShowerHead nut, minor sticking but it would come loose easily. When I got the VRod, the sticking became seriously bad. I bent my coil trying to get it free once (not much bend, I bent it back, seems fine but it freaked me out). I learned to rest the handle "flat" until everything was fully heated. Then I upgraded to the Titanium heat post, and have had no sticking problems at all.
