A vote for Illinois' Medical Marijuana Bill (HB 30) had been scheduled for the "lame duck" session (Jan 2-8) of the Illinois House of Representatives. It now seems unlikely that the bill's sponsor, Rep. Lou Lang, will put the bill up for a vote before the Jan 8 deadline.
Today Lang said: "Looks like it's not going to happen right now. I don't have time to explain the situation." I suspect the reason is that the lame duck session in Illinois has a RIDICULOUS amount of issues to go through in a short period of time.
So the bill is dead...for now. Medical users in Illinois have been disappointed many times, but we are persistent. Eventually, Medical Marijuana will be a reality in Illinois. Never give up.
