Gear Humboldt Farms cartridges - thicker oil? specific 510 battery needed?

I have 2 humboldt farms cartridges and I read somewhere that the oil is thicker and does not work well with a standard 510 threaded battery (I have a state branded unit). Do I need to look for a specific unit to work well with these cartridges?

this is what I read:
This cartridge contains thicker oil, and should only be used with a push button or variable voltage battery so that you can pre-heat the oil slightly before use.

Any 510 threaded battery mod should work in Variable Wattage mode, start low. Weak little 510 pen batteries will not work so well with high end, thick oil carts.

I've been using a Yocan Hive for pre-filled carts.
