D-020D or FC-187

Hey FC,

So I'm trying to decide on a bubbler for my log vaporizer. I've narrowed it down to these two off DHgate,

Both are 5mm and have the same type of percolator. Both seem to be popular, and high quality for the price that you pay. The Mobius/FC-187 V2 seems like a higher quality glass however, by looking at the pictures. Both are around the same price. I feel that I would prefer the FC-187, due to the mouthpiece, and logo that makes the glass appear as higher quality. Anyone have an opinion on which one would be best? Thanks

FC-188.

The sidecar is way nicer and easier to use imo. You will want 14mm if you plan on using it with logs, but 18mm and an adapter is an option as well, just remember you'll need the adapter before you can use it if you get the FC187

edit:

also no logo on chinaglass man, don't play yourself

For those of us who are somewhat "glass naive" could you please elaborate on why a sidecar is easier to use and why you feel the FC188 is preferred?

TIA!

Well, it may be just me, so as always - more people chiming in is appreciated; but I usually vape sitting at my computer desk...

If you look at those 2 pieces he posted... I have something similar to the bottom one, where the neck is directly behind the can. This makes it so I have to sit the piece right in front of me, which I don't do... since it is directly in the way of my keyboard etc... so I sit it a bit to the side... and angled... and I have to lean/tilt my head to hit it.

With a sidecar, you can negate this and the angle is less extreme.

Yep. That's my reasoning. Pretty lame but ya.

It also just makes things nicer for the viewing angle, say if you were trying to inhale while lighting a bowl? Dunno what else but ya.

What would it be a pic of then? Out of curiosity, I'm pretty sure that false advertisement is illegal so the photo would have to be quite similar to what you would receive from my knowledge? I like the D-020D but I'm thinking the FC-188, (if only it was FC-88) which actually doesn't seem much different than the FC-187 V2 ( that I listed above) but the price seems to be lower on the 188, which is odd being a newer model, unless it's just the different vendor prices that I haven't really looked into yet. If anyone has any other suggestions, feel free to post! Open to anything around $40 USD as a max price‎

I have had both the DO20 and 187. Really not much different. I stick with 18mm stems and use an adapter if I need one for 14mm. It's less expensive than getting both.

A major difference between the 187 and 188 is that one is 14mm and one is 18. Otherwise they look very similar.
There are other dhgate stores that sell these 2. I usually compare prices among the well known stores.

Yeah good idea, I have a 14mm gong attachment so will probably end up going with the FC-188 if I can't find something better for the price as I believe the FC-188 is the 14mm one

I have the FC-187v2 from Steven and use it with my underdog. I love the thing, hits great, and allows me to see what I'm doing very easily. Can't go wrong between the two though.

To chime in on this:
The sidecar is favorable in my opinion for a variety of reasons:

Angle: As noted in the post quoted, by having the sidecar the vape doesn't sit directly in your face, you aren't burning directly in front of your face, etc. So it's easier to use and see/look around.

Pathway:
Because the pathway is more difficult, I find splashback is harder to have happen.

As for the FC-188. I think that's dependent on what you need. The FC188 is a smaller can than the FC187. So it will stack bubbles in the can better. On the flipside, the 187 would hold more water for cooling vapor more. I think both are close enough in size for it to not be as big of a deal.

Mainly this would be for easy of the adapter.

Personally, I think the D020d is far over recommended and is way overrated.
