Cannabis Hot Chocolate

keepsake

Soul Searchin`
I want to make 1 cup of cannabis hot chocolate to help me sleep.
Here's what I know.. THC can only be extracted with oil/fat.
So here's my recipe:

Pour 1 cup of water into pot
Pour half cup of whole milk into pot
Add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
Bring to a boil
Add 0.5 grams of finely grounded quality bud
Lower to medium heat
Stir for 5 minutes and pour into a cup
Add hot chocolate mix & stir for 10 minutes
Strain and drink

Will this work?

Should. Give it a try and let us know.

I made ABV coffee that worked really well.

I wonder if .03g would work lol
Bud is expensive and I want to conserve.
It only takes me 0.1g to get pretty medicated with one of my vapes.
But I'm afraid 0.3 would be too little for a cup of hot coco.

I don't know what to tell ya. Not only is the strength of bud important as far as edibles or drinkables, but your specific chemical makeup is as important as well. That's the problem with stuff you ingest. It's an experiment.

For me, 2 to 2 and half gr. of well vaped abv works great.

Will boiling the weed in the pot for 5 minutes destroy any of the THC compounds?

edit:
"THC is destroyed approximately 380°F. - Water boils at 212 - so you can basically avoid destroying the THC if kept to a low boil."

I guess that answers my question lol.

How long should I simmer it for?
I want to get the most out of my half gram lol.

I'm guessing it either didn't work too well or worked so well that you forgot to post the update. Joking aside I'd be interested in hearing how it went.

Haha!
Holy crap. I never tried it.
I completely forgot to make her a cup and she never asked about it.
She doesn't seem very interested in cannabis. I think she still has a bad opinion on it.
We never talk about my cannabis usage anymore.
Oh well.

I didn't realise it was for someone else, I thought it was for yourself. I'm no expert but you might want to be careful about trying to "convert" people with consumables. One of my mates gave his girlfriend, now wife, some flower in some food. I'll spare you the gory details but I'm guessing he didn't account for her low tolerance cause she was very sick. Needless to say she hasn't tried it since and that was a few years ago. Basically if anyone is going to give someone they know who hasn't tried it before consumables my advice would be give them less than a tenth of what you normally have, give it a couple of hours to take effect and then work your way up from there.
