Try to decrease your inhale speed. This will increase the air temperature. Don't be afraid to scorch your herb, it's good to find the upper limit.. You can also try using different parts of the flame to heat the plate. Remember to adjust one thing at a time.

Yup, no preheat. I start inhaling at my normal speed, then apply the flame. I've been doing shorter inhales lately to keep the heat down. Eventually, I would like it if you carried worked J-hooks. I never see those, though I could probably get a custom. +1 to natural's stand comment.

My main concerns with flower vaporizers are efficiency and longevity. My choices for a portable would be solo, lotus, or hammer. There are some less mainstream products that look good, the firewood or davinci for example. However, I prefer to have a product with proven support.
