Ok so this is where it goes wrong... btw i never said it doesnt heat up. Its when you center the quartz with the black top ring, it causes the insert to sit off centered because the element isnt in the middle. This then causes it to lose contact and gain hotspots. Even on lowest heat setting...

Also I rarely use it . It has heated up unevenly since I have owned its, especially with a quartz insert, its like trying to stack bowls inside of each other when they are off centered. Aka doesnt make full contact.

I actually have not cleaned the inside with a q-tip just soaked it in hot alcohol. I take care of my glass, this came broke... I will show you a picture of the yellowish stuff pushed to one side the element also does not move.
